Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

I posted this question in another thread but I think this is where I should have posted it instead. I am a total newbie to all of this so I apologize if this question has been asked already.

We have already booked and paid for our stay in October for a Royal Guest Room at POR, including the DDP. If the FD offer does happen, what do I do? Do I call Reservations and have it applied to our account (in this case, would we just get a credit because we already paid for the DP)? I read in this thread that you should have back up rooms/resorts picked out. Why is that? If I already have a reservation, aren't they just updating my reservation? They wouldn't cancel it and then try to re-book, would they?

I am just wondering if it is worth it for us. I mean saving the $$$ would be great but I don't know if I want to risk losing our reservation in a RGR at the POR. Our daughters would LOVE the RGR.

Sorry for the totally newbie question!!
Just to add, definitely worth a call and yes, just call reservations and tell them you would like to have the free dining offer applied. I know every offer is different, but for the September free dining offer, the Royal Guest Rooms seemed to have more availability, some folks had to upgrade to them to get the free dining; I think that was later in the day or the next though. So go for it and good luck!!!:woohoo:

I'll be watching this thread next Monday in hopes that everyone gets their wishes! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and postive thoughts going your way.

Good morning all :)
I'm trying to get all of my ducks (or mice) in a row this week for the mad phone dash next Monday morning and have a question about phone numbers. I found 3 different #'s listed on the WDW website.....
939 -7426, 939-5277, and 939-7905.

Which is the best # to call to book a package with hopefully FD next Monday? I've done all of my ADR/RO booking online so I havent had to actually call until now.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help and fingers crossed for abundant amounts of pixie dust for everyone on 7-29 and 8-1.

I don't know if any of those numbers is "better" than another, but any one of them should be legit for speaking to the Walt Disney Travel Company and changing your reservation regarding free dining.

I checked last week and there were rooms available at PORFQ, today NONE! No room availability at any of the mods!:faint:

Please, please say this is in preparation for next week!!:worship:

I keep reading people mention Monday. I thought I read that if the FD gets offered, it will be on August 1st (which is next Thursday).

I don't know what's up! I checked my dates nov 9-16 and no rooms showing available at POR and yesterday every category had rooms except accessible room.

It's in preparation for something...I think the systems are temporarily unavailable.

Early this morning I checked out a package for All-Star Sports for February 2014. Just now I was taking a look at Pop Century and there was no availability. Flipped to four other resorts and adjusted dates, same thing. Okay...that doesn't make sense even though it's a busy week in Feb.

So I went to the "old" back door reservations site at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/ and got this message:

System Unavailable

We are unable to process room or package reservations at this time. Please try again later. If you have general questions regarding a Walt Disney World® vacation, please feel free to contact us at (407) 939-7675. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Chase Disney Visa credit card and Debit card holders are likely to be able to book 3 days early, July 29th.

I'm not liking it one bit!

Oh, I so hope so. That does not bode well for me as I need POR AB, and cannot be flexible. I guess I better start preparing myself (mentally) for my alternate, February dates.

Since the computer system in so whacked out... I wonder if you call, do they tell you the same thing??:confused3:crazy2:

I just called twice, trying to get the renewed Armed Forces discount applied to my existing reservations, and both CMs I spoke to said that the reservation system is down for "enhancements".

They told me to try back at about 2:30 PM EDT today.

I know that this question is probably in this post somewheres, but there is a lot of pages to get through. I live in Canada on the eastcoast, what day would the offer go public for international, or even for a Canadian offer? which I used a few years back during November.
