Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

I have a question regarding the Disney Visa offer. Will it "officially" officially be posted on Visa's site on the 29th? I presume there and not on the Disney World site.

It will eventually but that usually doesn't happen until later in the day.

So do they email cardholders, then? This is the one time I'm wishing I'd booked this myself, but I booked through a TA. She is great. Got us a BOG ADR for our last night. But I just want to call myself. lol

Thank Everyone! Guess it's another nail biting waiting game for me. Between the FD, the Wishes Desert Party Ressie's and now my Disney Debit Card looks like I won't have any hair by the time it's time to actually go to Disney! :badpc: :faint: :(

Debit card!??? I think the offer is only good with a Visa credit card? I only know of the 2 cards the regular an platinum cards and both are charge cards not debit.
Platinum card has a 50 dollar a year fee...

There is a Disney Visa, a Disney Premier Visa and a Disney debit card. All three cards gain you early access to offers. The Disney debit offers the same perks as the Disney Visa, with the exception of earning rewards. In order to get the debit card, you must have a checking account with Chase, and it requires direct deposit or a daily minimum balance to avoid the monthly fee.

When we hit the cardmember photo op at EPCOT, we get two free photos per day because we have a DPV and a Ddebit card. :goodvibes

Emails are sporadic. Sometimes I get them and sometimes not. The deal will eventually be on www.disneyrewards.com, but usually mid morning--several hours after it became bookable. Your TA will be the only one who can have it applied to your reservation. Good luck! :goodvibes

Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place. September FD ends sept 25 and can book until July 31 if you can check in then. Also food and wine starts the 27th and probably had sufficient bookings for that weekend. If you have to check in on the 27th could do RO for two nights and then do MYW package for check in on the 29th for FD the rest of your stay provided you have a min of 3 nights and 2 day base ticket min for everyone. Some one can explain better how to manage/ pick up tickets early. Or you could check in the 29th if that is possible. Good luck! Others please clarify if I missed something. Good luck!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I was thinking of doing the split stay, but thought I'd have to buy a one day ticket. I'd love to find out more about picking my ticket up early...

Why is POFQ so popular? We've stayed only at CSR for a mod, originally as this was one of the only mods to have queen beds...

Know it all..... LOL

We have DPV also. Mega rewards this year due to alot of use.... Might rack up 1000 pts.

So i know how to use the gift card. Bur how do we use it to pay for our trip? Same way? Get the gift card and pay the credit card with that?

Seems like you could directly apply points to your credit balance.

BTW been DPV cardholder since 2007 and never have i seen an email about free dining before the offer was already live....
I get plenty of emails from them too. Would e nice if they let the cardholder know before the date it starts....

:rotfl2:

I think the only way to apply rewards to your actual Visa bill is for reimbursement for airline tickets. To use it on your package, you would just use it as a gift card toward the balance due to Disney, not your balance due to Chase.

Are you taking about a Disney gift card or the Disney Rewards card?

With a premier card you can only apply points to pay for airfare. For resort deposits or balances you need to transfer the points to the rewards card and then use that as a form of payment. You can use it too at the Disney store or anywhere else they'll take your KTTW.

You can also use it prior to checkout to pay part of your balance.

I typically do base ticket reservations and then use the points to pay for hopper.

A Disney gift card will work for all of the above except for paying for airfare charged to your Visa card...

One more thing... The rewards card are good until the end of the following year when issued. Once you transfer points to the card, you cannot transfer them back. If the rewards card expires, whatever points are there will be gone too.

Quick question. If you booked through a disney travel agent, will they be able to get FD before the official release date of Aug 1st?

Online the day off. Some TAs have been able to do it at 6am. But you need a good TA that is willing to do it. Most will only start at 9am or whenever they start working...

I had one a few years ago... She moved on to another partly the company (AAA) and no longer was doing reservations. Could not find a good one as her since...

When does disney usually announce discounts before they come out? A week? A couple of days?

Disney does not officially announce the deals until the day they go live. For the Visa deal, it will only be on the Visa site. There will be nothing on the Disney site until sometime in the morning of the day the public offer goes live.

Yikes!!
Its the reward card! I need to read up on this....

I was planning on using the interest free financing to float the trip and using points to pay for it.

I guess i have it backward. I need to get my rewards card soon and use that to pay for the portion of the trip on the WDW site? Or as you say at checkout at the resort?

Is that correct?
