Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

We will be staying in asmu, does anyone know how much it would be if I wanted to upgrade from quick-service to dining plan when we get free dining?

About $19 per night for adults and about $4 per night for kids 9 and under.

So then, if i was staying at a MOD or deluxe and wanted to upgrade to DDP it would be approximately $40 pp per day?
Another question I have is will this FD offer be offered to AP holders? Or would I need to buy tix? If so, then I have a whole other set of questions.

Staying at a mod or deluxe would give you the regular DDP for free. Are you asking about upgrading to the deluxe DDP? Also, you must purchase a minimum 2 day base ticket in order to get FD, but you can save the ticket for a future trip or to use towards your AP renewal. Completely unused tickets do not expire.

Yikes!!
Its the reward card! I need to read up on this....

I was planning on using the interest free financing to float the trip and using points to pay for it.

I guess i have it backward. I need to get my rewards card soon and use that to pay for the portion of the trip on the WDW site? Or as you say at checkout at the resort?

Is that correct?

If you have a package booked, it has to be paid in full 45 days before check in. If you have only a room reservation, you pay the balance either at check in or out. I forget which.
So if you want to use your rewards for the trip, yes you need to order the rewards card. Once you have the card, it is quite simple to add reward dollars to the card from the website. The card does expire December of next year. The card works kind of like a gift card. You can use it online or over the phone the pay for your trip. It is also good at most places at WDW.

Yes, I meant DDDP. I didn't realize I could use that toward AP renewal. Could they be used by others in my party that don't have AP's? Example: DS19, his DGF18, and DS16 that are going to be with us for the first 4 days of our trip in another room on another reservation? Could I get FD pkg for them and buy 2 day tix for them and then let them use our 2 day tix we get with our room? We will have me, DW, DS11, DS7, DD5 in our room. Would that work? The little ones could then use there unused tix toward renewal?

Online the day off. Some TAs have been able to do it at 6am. But you need a good TA that is willing to do it. Most will only start at 9am or whenever they start working...

I really liked the TA I used last year but when the public FD offer was released she didn't email me until the afternoon and we had to switch resorts. And she didn't tell me about the Visa offer and we have a Disney debit Visa. I'm not blaming her at all but decided to book myself this year so I can call myself at 7 am. Control freak lol.

The cost to upgrade the DDP to the DxDP is about $44 for adults per night and about $9 for kids 9 and under. I suppose the other guests could use the tickets, but financially, it would be better to have them add ticket days to their own tickets and save your 2 day tickets for future use. A 2 day ticket is $184+tax, and a 4 day ticket is $279+tax. By having them use two separate 2 day tickets, you would be spending $368+tax instead of the $279. Does that make sense?

Certainly does, thanks a bunch!

Hi smitch425, thanks for the information you provided to a previous poster! I have been considering a 6-day trip next month (room only discount) as well as a two week trip in December (free dining), and I have thought of buying annual passes at the beginning of the August 2013 trip and also using the APs during the December 2013 trip, then maybe again on an early summer 2014 trip. I knew that I would have to purchase two-day passes for each person in the room for the December free dining package, but I did not know I could apply the value of the 2-day passes to the renewal of the APs in August 2014. I had thought I would just be able to use the 2-day passes on a future trip after the APs expire, but knowing that I can apply the value of the 2-day passes to AP renewal makes a difference in my decision process. Good info for me to know! Thanks again.

I posted this question in another thread but I think this is where I should have posted it instead. I am a total newbie to all of this so I apologize if this question has been asked already.

We have already booked and paid for our stay in October for a Royal Guest Room at POR, including the DDP. If the FD offer does happen, what do I do? Do I call Reservations and have it applied to our account (in this case, would we just get a credit because we already paid for the DP)? I read in this thread that you should have back up rooms/resorts picked out. Why is that? If I already have a reservation, aren't they just updating my reservation? They wouldn't cancel it and then try to re-book, would they?

I am just wondering if it is worth it for us. I mean saving the $$$ would be great but I don't know if I want to risk losing our reservation in a RGR at the POR. Our daughters would LOVE the RGR.

Sorry for the totally newbie question!!

We are doing RGR for the first time in november!
There are a certain number of rooms available for the free dining offer. So that is why you may have to pick a different resort or room category like garden view instead of standard to get the offer.
Yes you would have to call if you want the free dining and they will apply it to your reservation and in your case, refund what you paid for dining. Does your check in date fall within the dates of free dining? That's the important factor.
Hope that helps!

Got through one week of waiting. One to go!!!! Can't wait!!

I've got a little longer but :woohoo: All this has stressed me out so bad. I just keep thinking, stupid PINs. It would have been so much less stressful if I could have just had the free dining back with the PIN and avoided all this worry. Cannot wait to get this booked and start planning the fun things! :headache:
