Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Really? When I priced it for my family of five, it ended up being at least twice as expensive as AoA. When are you going? Maybe that makes a difference.

September, and value season for deluxe extends till the end of September (which is when we are going) and for Value resorts, value season ends on 9/13. It was a little over $100per night, but for Poly I was considering, but in the end we need 2 bathrooms!;)

And I did BC too, and I think it was only $40-50 per night more too. I can't find my original figures.

Bummer. I just ran numbers for the date options we were considering. Still a little bit too big of a difference. I've always stayed at YC/BC/BW with work and loved the location, so I was hoping it wasn't too big of a difference. I'm going to play with dates a little more still...hey, you never know! : )

If we are checking in on September 28th and a room only discount is offered starting on September 29th, would we qualify for the room only discount for the 29th and any dates covered after that? or would we have to be checking in on the 29th like the free dining?

You would have to check in on the 29th.

Hey...that's my motto too...You never know!:thumbsup2

I just checked my same dates and room rates were higher than they were in February. Poly was $422 and now $492, CR was $330 and now $385; still could not find my BC pricing.

When are you going???

I'm pretty sure RO discounts are for the dates listed and don't go by check-in dates like FD.

Thank you for your quick reply : )

If I can get free dining in 10 days, not that I'm counting, :hourglass I hope to go November 15th - 24th. I actually decided this was better than my first week of December dates anyway as it will give my autism spectrum son more time to recuperate from all the excitement before heading back into school.
My back up plan is January 30th - Feb 9th. Hopefully with one of the various discount offers.
A preferred room at POR AB (I likely would have to switch this for FD I know) is only $236 for my November dates and $225 for January, so I guess I shouldn't really complain. Unfortunately DH wants to keep the whole trip under $5,000, including airfare. He also doesn't "get" the "magic" or understand why it is easier to have a dining plan, so FD would be WONDERFUL! Now, I suspect when he sees the kids faces when we are down there, he will see the magic, but he has only been to WDW once, in high school for senior week. He probably thought he was too cool to have fun in Disney. :cool1:

As a child, we only stayed at Contemporary (or off site), but I ALWAYS wanted to stay at Poly; perhaps that is why I am obsessed with staying there.

I considered staying there with 5 plus toddler (price not that much different than AoA), but you don't realize how much stuff and space those little guys take up!;)

That is a good size bunch for one room! :) But, there are a couple great things about Poly with toddlers - the zero entry pool and water play area was a huge hit for us when our youngest were both 1.5 years. Also, being able to keep all 3 kids in their stroller all the way from the hotel room into the parks (and back) was priceless!

Sounds like my DH...lol. But we have been going as a family since 2002 and he has come to really enjoy it, but just not freakishly so, like me.

I haven't gotten anything done since this thread was opened! Already addicted! I'll be there Oct 29- Nov 5. Have room and tickets reserved at POFQ!!!!!! CANNOT WAIT! :)

See you there! I'm booked October 27th to November 3rd.

I don't know from personal experience, but I believe they do if there is availability.:)

Was wondering wher you have been!!:wave2:

Thanks for the concern! Life is busy and as hard as it may be to believe, some things require more attention than WDW and trolling the DISboards!

But since discovering this thread this morning, I have spent the whole day online, researching trips and airfare.:surfweb: Better than being outside in the heat wave we are having.:faint:

Your totally right on points are the reason I really was considering Poly. Three of our six days are going to be at the Magic Kingdom! Even though there is only 49 square feet less room in Poly than AoA, I decided we needed two bathrooms and having a separate room for the little guy to nap in would be a big plus.;)

Quick question....do you get credits for the number of days on your ticket or the number of nights staying at your resort? I am staying 9 nights but have 10 day park tickets. Thanks!

what is the phone # people call to see if they possibly have a pin attached to there name/address? Is there a specific #?

If you mean dining credits, then you will get as many dining days as nights staying in the resort. But you have until midnight of your check out day to use them all. :)

Looks like they were working on Jamaica 44 back at the end if April, so I'm not sure what's up now. Those could have been a couple of model rooms or they could be working full tilt. Information is somewhat quiet on the matter.

I'm sure you will update us immediately if you hear anything, right. :) Do they usually keep any refurbs quiet until they are all finished?

Since I have to take my son out of school, my dates are pretty open. I originally had the BC booked for the last wk in Sept (dh's 40th bday) w/ free dining but quickly realized there's no way I'd handle the heat- and while we knew we'd lose free dining- we booked 1 less night to somewhat make up for it- because what's the use in going at all if you're going to be sick in the heat. we decided to go a little later. I changed the reservation to 11/6-11/11 - bc wasn't available so we booked the poly. Now that free dining is going to be available- we can do almost anything- he'll prob have to miss 4 days of school, too. I hope it won't be too much of a problem. He's only going into 1st grade. Last yr tons of kids in kindergarten class were off for a week for vacation. I asked his kindergarten teacher the end of the yr if there'd be a prob w/ me booking and him missing a few days & she said not at all- go ahead & book it....so I'm pretty sure the 4 days off should be good.by

11/4 is our 13th wedding anniversary (altho dh & i have been together 22 years this past May- lol- i feel sooo old now!) and 11/18 is my 40th b-day. Anytime in Nov would be good.

Happy anniversary!!:yay: and missing four days of school should not be a big deal. My son in starting his junior year and I'm doing the same thing. The last time he went to disney was four years ago and were celebrating my mom's 70th birthday with my sister's family so I'm not letting him miss out on this. But yay for fd. It really doesn't save us alot but it gets us to try some different restaurants.

No specific number, just call the regular reservation line. Once you get person on the phone just ask them to look it up.
