Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Does anyone know if the resort only discount will apply to November 8 through November 11?

What am I missing? I didn't see a whole lot of people changing to CBR. Or is it just because availability is limited at the other mods that makes you think everyone will?

If you read the CBR thread.....everyday someone is posting that they moved from a value or one of the PO resorts to CBR...people are posting like madmen about the internal and external bus system at that resort....a already fussing about their ECV's if they're given a room on the 2nd floor....remember they don't have elevators so you have to climb stairs...and the only 'guarantee' is an accessible room that must be booked, not requested.

Internal bus - bus that goes from your 'Caribbean island' to the food court, etc

External bus - bus that goes from your island to parks.

It's enough to driver mad.....all the how far if a walk and how long will I have to wait...what if I can't climb stairs....

UGH!!!!!

Yes, you can save the 2 day tickets. They've always been good indefinitely as long as you don't use them. I'd have guest relations un-bundle them from your KTTW card, or wrist band or whatever media you have..so they're separate. My AP is on a hard plastic RFID card and I don't have any plans to put it on a wrist band. Not my thing.

Thanks Mindy.

Hi! I'm new so I apologize if this has been addressed already (probably several times lol) but I have never been able to retrieve dining reservations on the disney website to cancel them or view them or anything. I had the same problem last year and the year before, I always get the message that they are unable to retrieve reservations at this time, try again later. 3 years later you would think that's long enough!

Hi Carlys, have you tried clicking the "update reservations" button on the Disney World reservations page? If that doesn't bring up your reservations, you can click on "find reservations" and input the reservation numbers one-by-one. If you have lost the reservation numbers, you can search in your e-mail account for the e-mails from Disney confirming each reservation.

Thanks for the reply! Yes I did try that and I have all the reservation numbers but I still get that message every single time so when I want to change 1 I have to call and it's inconvenient. I don't know if it's a Canadian thing but I've never been able to retrieve them without getting the error message :(

We are arriving 10/3, missing FD by a day :( Has there been any leaks of a room only discount for that date?? Here's hoping :/

Thanks, I will check it out. We have been booked there from the start and will have 3 ECVs. I wasn't too concerned about getting a ground floor room, but maybe I should be.

Yikes! That would be very inconvenient.

I am Canadian as well, and thankfully I do not have the problem you indicated. You wrote that you have already tried it on more than one computer. Maybe try it on a friend's or relatives' computer. For me, my desktop typically shows the "new format" Disney World web site and my laptop typically shows the "old format" Diseny World web site, so maybe the computer used has something to do with it - i.e. maybe the Disney server detects something about your computer or version of Windows or the version/brand of your internet browser...have you tried an alternate internet browser?

It would concern me with all the recent moves....and now the rumored re-furb....especially if ground floor is a must. I just don't know what to do....I am really thinking about switching now.

Hmm, that's a good point, I'll try it from my friend's computer and hopefully that'll work.

Crossing my fingers that the FD deal for more dates comes out on the 1st so I can re-arrange our vacation to the dates we wanted originally. Frustrating that they won't let Canadians have a Disney Visa, I know you feel my pain on that one ;)

Thanks for your help! At least I know it's gotta be something with my systems and it's not a site issue.

Our family trip is planned 10/5-10/12. If the rumors are true and free dining ends on 10/2, could we have one adult fly down on Wednesday 10/2, check in and stay until the rest of the party comes down on Saturday?

It would cost roughly 650.00 for the extra 3 nights but the savings in free dining would be greater based on 2 adults and a 12 year old. Plus we would gain 3 Table-service, 3 quick service and 3 snacks.

Can this be done?

Yes, this can be done. Just be sure to get the minimum amount of tickets with the package and then you can upgrade that person's ticket after it is first used, assuming that the solo traveler will want to enjoy the parks before the rest get there. :goodvibes

Thanks smitch,

We already have three (8) day park-hopper passes with our reservation. The person going early would probably forgo the parks until Saturday.

The Magical express might be tricky (or impossible) with this plan as there would be 2 pick-ups, one on Wednesday and another on Saturday for the same reservation. :rolleyes1

This thread has been so exciting, I just had to join!!!! Not sure if I'll be able to figure out how to use all of this but I'm going to give it a try!

As a child, we only stayed at Contemporary (or off site), but I ALWAYS wanted to stay at Poly; perhaps that is why I am obsessed with staying there.

I considered staying there with 5 plus toddler (price not that much different than AoA), but you don't realize how much stuff and space those little guys take up!;)

Really? When I priced it for my family of five, it ended up being at least twice as expensive as AoA. When are you going? Maybe that makes a difference.

The cost to add a couple of extra days to the early person's ticket would only be around $20 to upgrade to a 10 day. Might be worth it just to have some more food options while they are there. ME will not be a problem. You just need to let them know when everyone is scheduled to arrive. People do it all the time. Good luck! :goodvibes
