Once you get the "Welcome..." is there any speedy way to get through all the other prompts??

I would so love to know this to. For some weird and odd reason every time I say and spell my last name the system doesn't recognize it(last name is in my screen name). I always wonder if it only recognizes names with 5 letters or less.

I'm considering switching from AOA to two rooms at POP for our party of five. Just to take advantage of FD if it is indeed not offered for AOA. I just spoke with a CM and he said that I would modify my existing Reservation for one room at POP but then create another reservation for the second room. He said this was because three of us are adults. Is this true? You know some CM answers are not always correct. I was hoping to have one reservation number for both rooms.

Has anyone tried calling in the past hour or so about FD with the Disney Visa ?

I don't have one myself but I just read on a Facebook Trip page some reporting they called and were able to book CBR with FD with their DV also no POFQ or POR

I called at 2:30 - no go for Disney Visa at this time. She was nice, but she gave no hints or extra comments about tomorrow.

I finally caught up on this thread! I really have read every message but have thought of a couple more questions, so I hope I am not repeating something that has been addressed...

* We are driving and will have a car there. Is it easier to drive from hotels to the parks or take the shuttle? How close are parking lots to the hotel rooms? If it matters, our first choice is POR and 2nd choice is CSR

* With the FD deals, do the standard rate (cheapest) rooms sell out first or is it sort of a crapshoot? That is what we want, and I do have backups in mind (would love to do the RGR at POR if I was "forced" to, lol), but there is a certain price point at which I will just go down to a value resort.

Speaking of value resorts, I am happy to see all the value love. DD (age 5) and I were looking at pics of the resorts online this morning and she really, really wants to stay at ASMu, just based on the photos. I'm almost tempted... if I can't get Mod rooms I want, I might just book there and upgrade to the regular dining plan.

Whenever we have our car with us and stay in a resort that is spread out (like POR or CSR), we drive our car to the parking lot nearest the first bus stop for the resort. If I remember correctly, at POR it is the main lobby/food court building. It's nice knowing that there will be no more walking after we get off the bus. We usually stashed our resort mugs in the car and popped inside for a fill up and maybe a snack, then drove back to the room. Worked wonderfully for us!

I'm a bit nervous too for tomorrow because my mother is the one who has to do this not me She's afraid she might ask the wrong questions even though I wrote everything down for her to say. With all this talk about rooms selling out makes me worried. Does it go by room category? Do I have to worry that the room I have might sell out . I wouldn't think the wheelchair assesable rooms would be a problem but now I'm not sure. I don't care if we have to switch to cs or cbr but need that same category.

Yep, it's true. When we were going to book our oldest son traveling with us (he was 18 at time of booking) they said we were no longer guaranteed connecting rooms since we had 3 'adults' and we'd have to book 2 reservations. I told them my oldest wouldn't really want to babysit all vacation and we couldn't fit DH, myself and the other 4 in a room with us but they said those were the rules. When we were going to add our MIL, it was going to work out the same .

The dates are:
10/1-10/10, 10/14-10/30 Value(113.00) and Moderate(181.00)
10/1-10/10, 10/14-10/19 for Deluxe(335.00).

I checked the website and it does not have these prices, nor does it have the special offers button anymore.

I have a couple of questions...I confess I didn't get through all 46 pages as the kiddies are going crazy. I am hoping I can do this via the web instead of calling? And can I modify a reservation if I need to (to add dining and see where I can get it for free)? We are currently booked at POR.

2 more questions:
* we are traveling with family and REALLY need connecting rooms. Do I have a better shot at this with POR or CBR? We usually stay at POR as we like it a lot and the cafeteria and restaurants are great for us.
* Any preference of POR over CBR? Kids will range in age from 3-7 and pool time will be on the agenda as we won't be in the parks every day. Transportation isn't an issue as we will have a car.

Those look like the regular rack rates for Oct-dec. I'm paying 179-191 per night at POR rack rack rate.

We've had a package booked since Feb for WL woods view for 10/19-10/26. But with all this FD and RO discount frenzy, I've had to ponder several things. I've checked with my family and my hubby does not want to change resorts with one small exception.

Yesterday I emailed my fabulous TA my list of instructions. It sounded sort of like when Sally (from When Harry met Sally) orders food.....here's what I sent her:

So, here's what's up......my husband would really rather not change resorts (with one exception, mentioned shortly).......so, I'm willing to take either FD or a room only discount for WL, whichever you can get. If you have to upgrade to courtyard view, still fine, still willing to take either FD or room only discount.
But - if you are unable to snag either deal for either of those room categories at WL, would you please check the Poly for us? That would be the only other resort we'd be interested in. If we can get into the Poly (standard room) with either FD or a room only discount of 30% or more we would be happy with that. However (oh look, another but!), we do not want to stay at the Poly unless there is FD or room only discount of 30% or more in play. According to my number crunching, anything less than 30% room only discount at Poly wouldn't be saving us anything over what we're already paying.
SO - if you cannot snag any sort of discount at WL, and you cannot snag either of the discounts mentioned above at Poly, we want to keep our full price WL woods view package as it currently is. After all, we're really fine with the price as it sits now, just any discount or FD would be gravy.

AND BLESS HER HEART , she answered that she understood me 100% and would do everything possible to get me the best deal within my request parameters! Thank goodness for TAs who love their jobs!! My destiny is in her hands and I am dealing with that. But I'll be on here first thing in the morning to check and see if everyone is getting their pixie dust and cheering you all on so that you can get the rooms you want.

And I also want to say that I've never really participated in forums before, and this sure is a great bunch of folks right here! I'm so glad I've joined in. Thanks so much for everyone's input!!

Okay I'll be setting the alarm for 5am tomorrow.

1. POR RR GV (close to elevator)
2. POR RR SV (close to elevator)
3. POR GV (request Mansions, mom can not do stairs so elevator important)
4. POR RV or Kg (same as above)
5. POR or POFQ Anything
6. CBR (close to transport/elevator)
7. CSR (close to transport/elevator)
8. Forget discounts, Keep my current rack rate FQ or take a rack rate POR at whatever is available.


Think I have enough options?

I will try FD in the RRs first then if not available I'll ask about RO either one is acceptable since I think they will actually run about the same for me. We are not huge on TS or actual meals or Mugs, so we can adapt food wise no problem.

I've never done packages before because foodwise it wasn't our style and frankly all those DisneyQuest/Arcade/Golf things are useless for us, but I must admit I have had fun in the hunt. I'm almost going to be sad after tomorrow.
