Guests staying at a participating Value Resort will receive Free Breakfast during their stay, valid for guests arriving January 1 – March 18, 2018 and April 6 – November 30, 2018."

Dang, that offer suuuuuuuuuuucks IMO. Sure hope that's not the parameters for the US offer if/when it drops.

It sucks compared to what they've offered in the past. I think getting quick service at the mod level sucks, imo, but usually those who get the free quick service pay to upgrade and I think Disney is counting on those extra dollars in upgrades.

It won't be and honestly it isn't a terrible deal. UK visitors tend to visit for longer. You get a 14-day ticket for the price of a 7-day ticket. Plus you get a $200 gift card. The dining part then just depends on where you stay.

As for the US offer if there is one I am fairly certain there will be a minimum stay/ticket required as they have in the past. Last year you needed to have a park hopper ticket in order to get it.

Values get a free breakfast? Ooooooooooo. Do the values also get the $200 Disney spending money? The catch for me, I guess, other than the sorry value offer (unless they get the $200, also), is the minimum 5 night stay and you have to buy a 14-day ticket (granted you get them for the price of a 7-day, but still...). I dunno. Seems to me they really jacked up the requirements this year. How do past UK offers compare the offer made in US?

Yes, I'm aware of that. Like I asked, how do past UK offers compare to the offer that was made in that same year?

Maybe for those of you who stay for weeks at a time and have more money than they know what to do with. No so much for us average joe's who do the 3n/4d stay.

Other posters are right in that this would be the first time something like this is offered, but it certainly is interesting which I believe is bolstering my theory that free dining is soon to be a thing of the past and people should stop counting on it.

This is the standard offer UK has had for the past few years. So it doesn't indicate that fd is going away. If anything, it indicates that fd will stick around for at least another year since the UK offer is for 2018.

I know this year's offer for the UK upped from a $100 gift card to a $200 gift card. I am not sure if the minimum stay changed at all.

UK offers don't correlate with the US so they don't have to offer free dining in the US if they don't want.

I agree that this likely won't carry over to the US because like you said, US visitors don't normally stay as long as UK visitors. However, if you're flying 10 hours across the pond and spending 4-6k on a vacation, you'd need some incentive too.

All this freaking out about the terrible deal is looking at a UK deal. It's the same one they've had for a while and it hasn't carried over to the US deals. If you're in the US and looking at this, relax.

really? So it's always been free breakfast at the values vs free quick service at the values? This is the first I have ever heard of only receiving a meal free vs the whole plan.

Since it's the same UK fd deal that they've offered for the last several years, I would imagine that people from the UK are happy that it's not changing.

At least for a few years now. That's why I would think it doesn't have any bearing at all on US offers. Disney has been doing this deal for UK visitors, while still doing the QS/DDP deal for US visitors.

I did not know that. Then again I don't usually follow the UK deals, but if the UK is happy and the US has been offering full dining plans then great. However, I know there are some US residents with sour grapes over the extended tickets, the free dining, and the gift card.

The UK 'deal' is fine but the room costs have shot up by about £1500 ($1700) from what they have been the last few years.

For me. It's now out priced me staying on property. Now planning to stay off property and save a TON of cash too

$1500?!!

Relax. I'm not being rude. I actually was keeping an eye out to see if what you were saying could possibly be true. When it didn't get released I figured it was dead in the water and was just letting others know too.

HOWEVER,

I did some digging this morning and I found where you may have gotten your information from:

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2017/...ee-dining-offer-for-united-kingdom-residents/

"Bookings must include 5 nights minimum stay at a Walt Disney World Hotel plus Disney’s 14 Day Ultimate Tickets for the whole party traveling to receive “14 day tickets for the price of 7” ticket offer, $200 Disney Spending Money per booking plus free Quick Service Dining Plan for participating Moderate Resort bookings and free Disney World Dining Plan for participating Deluxe Resort or select Deluxe Villa bookings. So there is where the free breakfast for value resort guests comes from as well as Quick Service for mods and regular for deluxe and above.

Other posters are right in that this would be the first time something like this is offered, but it certainly is interesting which I believe is bolstering my theory that free dining is soon to be a thing of the past and people should stop counting on it.

Seriously? Free breakfast? ooooo. That's a maximum discount of about $45 a day or about 35% of room cost if the room cost is $125 and you have 4 people in the room. It gets worse if the room cost is higher or there are less people in the room.

This is the site I got the info from:
