The bounceback is just a special offer for a future stay. They want you to book it before you leave. The offer varies. It has nothing to do with the price you paid on your current stay.
I know it doesn't have anyting to do with the price you paid, but here is my question then, the last two times I was at the hotel. PoP. There was no offer in the room. If this was a person's first time, how would they be made aware of the bounce back offer?

The Dis. :)

I would never have known about it if it wasn't for these boards. The front desk won't have a clue as to what you are talking about.

I thought the front desk was supposed to know too because there are supposed to be handouts in the room. Hmm. Guess I'm going to have to research this more.

I've asked for booklets twice from the front desk. If they have them, they'll give them out. But I don't generally find the front desk very knowledgeable when it comes to future offers. Now I just know to dial ext. 8844 from my room.

I agree. Been three times in that past 7 years and have never seen a flyer in my room.
For the past 4 or so years, they've been part of the information books. It used to be an insert in the middle. More recently the offer has been on the first or second page in the booklet.

Wow! That would be awesome for people who don't know about it. And were you required to call them on a special number?

I think it was just the WDW reservations phone line 407-939-7607. I went back and checked. It was the morning before check out day. It wasn't a dining deal. It was for a percentage off the room rate. The email included a discount code to give the CM when booking. We didn't use the offer.

I assumed this was Disney's normal way of doing it. Why would they hide something intended to lure people back?

Good point. I have no idea. I've never received an email over several stays. Maybe others get them?

Sorry, I hope that didn't come off wrong. I'd just think they'd want as many people to get them as possible. Are your emails connected to the MDE accounts that the reservations are through?

No, don't worry. :) And yes, My email is connected to my MDE.
No matter. I just call the extension to find out the bounceback.

It's good that you get bounceback emails. I'm sure some other people must get them too. I've just never heard of them, but it certainly makes sense to email people.

I get PIN codes and various other notifications from Disney through email but I have never received a bounceback offer.

According to this:

"Be on the lookout for such discounts in the backs of the small magazines that come in your resort welcome packet. Other guests have reported seeing Bounce Back Offers on the Disney information channel on your resort television or have been emailed with Bounce Back Offers while still on vacation. If none of these avenues seem open to you try dialing Ext 8844 from your resort room phone to find out what the current offer is or visit the Front Desk of your resort to inquire."

Bounce Backs can come in many forms.

Hi I just booked my vacation today for the end of Sept into October. I am hoping for free dining. I went in 2015 and had free dinning and loved it. Sorry if this was already explained but what does Bounce Back mean?

It's a discount offer for a future trip Disney sends you while you're on your current vacation. They want you to "bounce back" for another trip.

The front desk has no idea what is in the rooms. They are a segregated unit only responsible for what they do and Disney employees are not well trained...because that costs more money.
