I've kind of given up on FD to be honest. If they're not offering it at the moderates my hope is that they will offer it at ALL value resorts. Ultimately, we do not want to stay at sports. I switched our reservation to movies. fingers crossed it's at all the value resorts. I also didn't see where it wasn't offered last year. Maybe I misread. Oh well.

As far as I can tell, the Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation and all of All Star Movies were excluded last year. As far as moderates last year, POFQ was completely excluded and POR was excluded after Oct. 1st. Of course, everything is rumor at this point for this year. The only thing I've heard is POR will be included this year. I'm assuming it'll be a deal like last year. A very good source said this morning that it will only be QS for the moderates and that it will be dropping on Monday.

In the past has All Star Movies been included as a Value on the Free Dining program? We're booked at Sports, but really don't want to be there. Thanks!
I would rather be at All Star Movies also . From my understanding All Star Movies was excluded from free Dining last year . As of now we are booked in the Cabins but if Mods only get QS we will go to value and pay the upgrade for DDP .

Wonder why they blocked movies

I looked at 2 different things the Disney food blog had the offer in april 2016 and it included All star movies, then another site had free dining dropped in august and it excluded movies. Was there 2 different offers last year for free dining?

Sometimes they'll release FD in two waves. I'm not sure if they did last year or not.

Because it's the more popular of the All-Stars and usually doesn't have issues booking by itself.
Yes Movies is the most requested of the All Stars . I have been able to book free dining but that was in 2008 and 2010 . I would be surprised if it gets a discount this year . Movies and LM do not need the promo to fill the rooms .

We can get military discounted 4 day hoppers ($209) and have a military discount on the room at Art of Animation. My sister is intrigued by free dining but I don't believe that there is any way that it would be as good a deal as we already have.

It's my understanding that we would have to book a rack rate room and add tickets?
accurate.

I'm having one of those moments where I feel like I made a huge mistake lol! I can't decide if I should switch BACK to Sports. Grrrrr do we risk not staying at the resort we want to stay at and possibly miss FD, or do we book at the resort we don't want to be at in hopes we might get FD. I'm worried that if this all drops Monday that they will also increase the room rates. Because we are staying 14th through 23rd I can't risk increasing the room rates. Sigh. Am I crazy? (I also thought Movies would be included which is why I switched from sports but now after reading it seems like it will be the only excluded.)

I hate those moments! :scared: 14th - 23rd of...what? I don't think they have a history of raising the rates when a promo like this comes out but I could be wrong. I sure wouldn't count on ASM being included in this round of FD release. You can always wait until it actually drops and switch then, when you're reserving your FD. It'll just make it a lot easier if you know for sure where you're going if ASM isn't available. Something that always concerns me is availability. I'd hate to wait until that moment only to find out my second option is filled up. How much of a gambler are you?

You are correct you would have to do the math . Also remember the AOA has always been QS . We paid more to stay at AOA with free dining and the upgrade than to stay at BC . That was what the kids wanted it really is all about running the numbers . QS 48.19 per adult per night $20.88 per child 3-9 Regular dining plan 69.35 per adult per night $24.95 per child per night 3-9 . Then look at rack rate for AOA and prices of rack rate tickets.

November, sorry thought I said that!

I'm not much of a gambler. I would really like to have Free Dining. While it's not going to "make or break" our budget, it would certainly allow for a little bit more relaxation on the time before the trip knowing that our food budget is all but taken care of.

I guess I will stay where I'm at in hopes that I can transfer my reservation back to Sports is FD is offered during our trip dates. It seems we're there right when rumored to be offered. How often are the rumors correct? What are the Odds? The house always wins I work for a casino lol!!!, which is why I don't gamble. I hate this. Monday seems so far away!

LOL I love to gamble! But I don't gamble on my vacations. But I totally get it. FD won't make or break me, either. I've done the math. It's just me and my son. It was going to cost us between $250-$300 in food for 3n/4d stay. I went ahead and bumped it up to 4n/5d and added a PH+ since that's what the rumor is. It's easier to add now and remove later if it's not needed than the other way around. Anyway, even if I have to add the PH or PH+ in order to qualify for FD, it sure would be nice if I didn't have to worry about food. And I still come out ahead.

The house doesn't always win, you just have to be smart. ;-) I went to Vegas last fall. 2n/3d and walked away with more than I started with. Not a lot, but I won. I did my home work and played smart. The house doesn't always win. This is no different. Do your home work, be smart, be prepared.

I've been told the source of this info is really, really good. From what I understand the cast members have a regular Friday meeting and they are getting the details today. I was also told last week that the phone bank and reservation people were told they would be working mandatory overtime next week. I think more and more details will be coming out over the course of today and tomorrow.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open that for sure! And the House ALWAYS wins long term, that's why Casino's still exist!!! ;)

This is true. That's because most people that walk into a casino (A) play the slots, which I despise, and (B) are morons. LOL
