There were some dates last year, not the entire 2 weeks. Check the discounts board:

Pop Warner is Dec 6 to 13, it's usually excluded then.

2013 had several weeks of free dining. We went Dec 12-23 and had free dining.

As long as it is offered on your check-in day, you can still have it for your entire stay even if part of your stay is excluded.

Keep in mind that there are always exception dates to the dates listed. As was said, they usually don't do FD on Pop Warner week.

We've gone twice in November and have had free dining. I'd expect something to be announced the day after the last day you can book with the current discount .

Free dining will be extended beyond September 2013.

Bookings for these dates will begin August 1.

The 2013 dates are below:

September 29 - October 2
October 18 - November 2
November 11 - 23
December 12 - 22


Some Resorts are excluded. These include: Art of Animation, All Star Movies, Port Orleans French Quarter, Campsites at Ft. Wilderness, and 3-bedroom villas. A 3 night minimum stay (14 night maximum) and two day minimum park ticket is required for each person in the party.

I was just reading where you have to buy the ticket room combo to get the free dining. We will have YES tickets as we are doing a class. Is there any way we can still get free dining? If I bought a normal one day ticket for everyone would that give us free dining for the whole stay or just for that one day? We will be there 8 nights.

They generally require a 2 day ticket for everyone on the reservation. You can save them to use on a future trip, but you do have to buy them.

Adding to the above ^^^, if you do purchase the minimum you still get the DDP for the number of nights you stay at the resort.

And based on anecdotal evidence to date, it appears that those "extra" tickets could be used to reserve extra FPs while still maintaining their ability to be used for admission on a future trip.

Just make sure you get those tickets either removed from your MB's or prioritized if you want to save those two day tickets for another trip. Go to guest services before you enter a park to do this.

Could they be sold? I dont know what Disney's rules are on selling tickets.
