Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I called Disney today... I do every week or so and have them mske sure I didn't miss a pin;)
Anyways the CM I spoke to was very helpful and talkative!
I was asking her about special offers and she all but said she thought there would be free dining... She said that by going on historical data that she thinks offers may become available soon! I know that this is not accurate and I could call right back and get an entirely different answer... But gives me hope!

Can I ask what # you call to see if you have a PIN?

It does help, thanks. I think the only thing I'm worried about is my credit card being linked to everyone elses magic bands. Even if its not charged right away, with that many people were never going to be able to look at a list of charges and know who bought what to divide it up. I guess my question is, can each room have a different credit card linked to their magic bands at check in if I'm the one that booked all of the rooms?

We had 4 rooms with 13 people last year. The easiest way to do it is to give each party their resort confirmation # to add to their My Disney Experience account. Then they can add their own credit card. When you do online check in they can add it there as well. It will also be verified at the resort when you check in. Just be careful when dining together. CHEF Mickeys got our dining credits messed up and took too many off for my family and not enough for my sisters. Good thing I kept an eye on it and the concierge at the GF was able to fix it all. HAVE A GREAT TIME!

I have a question regarding booking multiple rooms. We have a big family trip for next year planned, and are hoping for free dining. We're going to have 13 people across 4 rooms. Am I able to book all 4 rooms on my Disney visa card, but make 4 separate reservations under the name of someone staying in each room? If it is possible to do that, can they then provide their own credit card at check-in for charging priviledges? I'm just trying to see if theres a way to do this that doesn't have 4 separate people caught up in the fiasco that FD release day is known to be.

So, I have heard about the three room limit before, but I will tell you that I was able to book four rooms with one Visa card with FD in the past. I might have just slipped by with that, but it happened for me! I did put down the deposit on each room and had me down as the back-up card for each room as well. And, yes, we had four separate reservation numbers with a "lead adult" for each room. Here is a trick that we do as well--and this will only work if you are going as a close-knit family where everybody is aware of their meal credits: I put myself and my DFIL on my room and my wife and my DMIL on an adjoining room so that we can have key access to their room (we have kids in both rooms). Since we stay in rooms of five, there is no adjoining door at POR. I am sure that you can arrange Magic Band and key access at the front desk, but this has always worked for us. It also allowed some help with dining with the kids and having bands that matched up with rooms in case the in-laws took the kids somewhere, etc. IDK--looking back at this, it looks a little confusing, but it always works for us!

How and where do some get these codes? Is there something that can b signed up for?

They're random. If you're in the system you're eligible.

They come as emails and mailers. Sometimes there's one attached to your name in the system that you didn't get a notice about.

Hoping, hoping, hoping for free dining! We just booked non-refundable plane tickets for November 9th-23rd! Historically these dates fall within the free dining dates, but I know anything could happen.

Feeling very nervous!

It's funny, I've booked the hotel/dining but waiting on Better prices for flights. Once the flights are booked there's no going back I guess lol!! We are firm on our dates though, I've just seen lower prices between the 3-4 month out window.

Joe Black is a frequent Disney goer who has a knack for uncovering very accurate information about FD in the past. Unfortunately, if his info was just the slightest off, a few folks would get peaved, and would sound off on this thread. I also think he might have taken a little heat from Disney (but that is just my hypothesis). It is too bad because it was usually very accurate info and added another layer of excitement in this FD-waiting game.
Sounds similar to the issues tikiman is experiencing. We love to speculate....it gives us something to do while waiting!

Yes....the three month window seems to be the lowest rates. Too far out and they are expensive....same with too close! Three mos. is just right! Lol!

Rumor has it, April 23rd will be the day they release any info on free dining past this summer.

OK, the person who told me this was kidding and I just found out. Sorry. Although, I had to call Disney last night and the CM said most likely by the end of May or first of June it should be out. UK guests will have it available to them a little earlier he said.

We may want to be prepared not to hear anything until August

Let’s take a look at the months in the previous few years that Disney has announced the free dining packages, the are as follows:

  • August 2010
  • May 2011
  • August 2011
  • March 2012
  • July 2012
  • May 2013
  • August 2013
  • May 2014
wow...just seems random!

Here's a question for this group. I've booked my resort and come May 20 th I can book my adr's. My daughter is waiting for free dinning and will not be able to go this year if it isn't offered. Should I go ahead and book our adr's for all of us....we will be dinning together.....and just reduce the number in our party If she can't make it?

I would book for all and edit down later.

It is just so Anxiety provoking to have to wait.....especially if your trip relies on free dining to be able to go this year! I understand that many folks really count on fd to make or break a trip. My daughter and her family are in the same boat. I just hope, along with the rest of you, that it comes out soon!
