Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Yes, we find the "down time" to be needed... tired legs and hot necks :-)

I didn't expect to care about character meals (had never had one before we got free dining a while back), but they have wound up being fun for us. So we get a few characters without doing the "stand in line to get a picture" routine.

Of course I understand if your kids are more interested in rides than my crowd :-)
We always do table service. Over the years I have gotten pretty good at timing things to fit into Disney's schedule. We do Rose and Crown for Illuminations. When Animal Kingdom had a parade upstairs at Yak and Yeti was a perfect viewing spot. And the Patio at Tony's is a great spot to catch the parade at the Magic Kingdom. Last trip we had a morning BBB reservation followed almost seamlessly by CRT brunch and an Anna and Elsa fastpass. We always do a resort for dinner on our Animal Kingdom day and for the past few years we have been able to get Be our Guest between 4:30 and 5:00 on our MNSSHP night. And we usually do a Downtown Disney reservation the night we arrive. So far free dining has paid off for my crew.

We've had good luck eating at the Japanese pavilion a little before Illuminations and then staking out a good view on the balcony level :-)

Yes, this was my wonder as well. The September FD was out first and then in July came the rest of the year. I even think one year, it was late February or early March that the FD came out! Last year was kind of shocker when everything was released at once.
When I booked in 2013 I believe FD was released for the end of October at the begining May also, so hopefully that is becoming the norm for Disney

My thoughts are that maybe last year Disney released all the dates at once because Diagon Alley was opening at Universal and Disney wanted to get their fall promos out first to get people committed. We were planning on skipping Disney last Nov and go to Universal to check out the new stuff, but changed our mind and booked the Disney free dining instead.(last Nov we then booked BB free dining for this fall and are doing a split vacation with Universal)

It's so nice to come here and see everyone getting excited about the fall free dining. I belong to a Disney Facebook group and sometimes they can be some of the meanest people when someone asks about the free dining promo. The best one was someone said they spoke with a dvc cm on the phone and they said it probably will not be offered anymore. For one, dvc does not qualify for free dining and two, I have yet to speak to a phone cm who could give you the correct answer for anything.

They usually send out notice through e-mails or flyers, but last time I found out first here. This board seems to have insiders in the know and they share the news before anything is "officially" announced
Thanks

These were the exclusions last year. All-Star Movies, Port Orleans Resort Riverside, Port Orleans Resort French Quarter, Fort Wilderness campsites, Grand Villas at all resorts (3-bedroom Disney Vacation Club rooms), Art of Animation Little Mermaid Rooms, and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Thank you I was looking all over for this!

Agreed, CM's do NOT have advanced notice of the offers. They usually are optimistic and assume promos will happen and will likely follow the previous years offers but some CM's have a bad day or something and tell people that there won't be any offers. My recent CM told me offers would likely be coming out around the end of April when I asked about FD. She was probably a little too optimistic but I hope she's right.

Thanks!!! I know I wasn't crazy for practicing this dining stuff! My husband keeps making fun of me!
I think I will start with -
1. CRT
2. BOG
3. Mickeys backyard BBQ
3.
Tusk we house

Does that sound like a good order???
Can 2 people be making reservations for the same reservation number at the same time??

I think that the end of April might happen... Or maybe I'm being optimistic! But the cm I got implied that deals would be sooner rather than later and then chip and co on Facebook mentioned it would be sooner rather than later.... Fingers crossed!!!

Even after the promos come out, I still don't think most of the cm's have a clue. You can ask the same question to 10 different disney employees and get 10 different answers. :joker:

2 people probably can because you are able to be logged on twice on different devices, but what I do is have like 4 tabs opened to the ressies I want and as soon as I can start booking I refresh them and go (just to be safe I also put them on my bookmarks toolbar for quick access in the event of browser crash). Its worked well in the past. Also remember that if you dont get exactly what you want for times keep checking. People constantly change their plans, or take a time close to what they want but then find the exact one they want later so if you check often you will likely be able to get what you want. Sometimes I get my preferred time only weeks before I go.

I would do BOG first; we got our day but not our desired time.

My sis and I both made ADRs at the same time. We got all 10 of the ones we wanted, in 20 minutes!

In hopes of getting FD I'm trying to get everything planned to make ADR in a few days. DH and I were wanting to try Fultons Crab House at DTD. Prior years people have said that it uses 2 of your TS credits. Is this still true, or does it now only use 1? On the actual DDP website, FCH does not have a "2" next to it. I'm assuming it now only uses 1 TS credit, but I wanted to make sure. :confused3:)

Always go by the brochure.

It's still listed as 2TS

Love the pictures! Sorry I have been MIA for awhile. Been a busy work week.

I am surprised Chip and Co is saying soon for a FD release. Unless they consider a couple months soon. But hey who knows, maybe it will come out sooner than I suspect. That would be great for you all. Fingers crossed!

I would too, but I'm wondering if there's a decrease in travel due to the oil prices tanking? I live in Houston and since our economy is so dependent upon the oil industry there have been a lot of layoffs. Perhaps they're going to expand their discounts a bit this year? Fingers crossed.

Yeah, but thats only in areas where the economy is dependent on the oil industry. Up here all I see are lower gas prices, which means more money in my wallet to pump into the economy.. whether it be via shopping or travel.

That is correct. However, in the past the oil industry taking a hit has been the first step in an overall economic decline. Just throwing out some possibilities.

Here is the new summer offer. I couldn't find it under the main special offer page which was strange. I just googled disney world and when I clicked the link this was what it brought me to. This is the highest discount I recall having seen for the summer months. Hopefully that is a good sign for the fall discounts.

We had this last summer. We stayed at CBR and if you stayed over 5 or 6 days it bumped the discount up to 25%.
