We always do table service. Over the years I have gotten pretty good at timing things to fit into Disney's schedule. We do Rose and Crown for Illuminations. When Animal Kingdom had a parade upstairs at Yak and Yeti was a perfect viewing spot. And the Patio at Tony's is a great spot to catch the parade at the Magic Kingdom. Last trip we had a morning BBB reservation followed almost seamlessly by CRT brunch and an Anna and Elsa fastpass. We always do a resort for dinner on our Animal Kingdom day and for the past few years we have been able to get Be our Guest between 4:30 and 5:00 on our MNSSHP night. And we usually do a Downtown Disney reservation the night we arrive. So far free dining has paid off for my crew.Yes, we find the "down time" to be needed... tired legs and hot necks
I didn't expect to care about character meals (had never had one before we got free dining a while back), but they have wound up being fun for us. So we get a few characters without doing the "stand in line to get a picture" routine.
Of course I understand if your kids are more interested in rides than my crowd![]()
