Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

We stayed at CBR this past Oct (2014) and booked FD at POFQ as a bounceback for Sept 2015 for 14 nights as well. Unfortunately, we will likely have to change our dates since it's not a good time for the kiddos to be taken out of school. The CM told us we could rebook POFQ or any other moderate for Oct 2015 with 30% off the room but the FD wouldn't carry over. We haven't cancelled our plans for FD at POFQ just yet as it's really hard to kiss $3600 worth of FD away Contemplating just leaving the kids at home in Sept. and DH and I can enjoy POFQ FD by ourselves

they should let you keep your FD if you only move your dates a couple weeks. when we booked last year for this year we originially had booked the first week in Sept, but with my work i had to push it back a week and they told us as long as we were within sept or first week in Oct we would still get the Bounce back free dining.

When we've gone, it's been all name brand good candy. We didn't bother with too many candy lines, only because both times when we were leaving the park...CMs filled my kids bags with tons of more candy!

That's so cool. The kids must have loved that. Do you bring your own bags for trick-or-treating or do they provide you bags?

Don't for get to add $200 into your budget for the bounce back offer. There is a $200 deposit on all package resort reservations.

They give you each (adults, too) a bag. One side usually has an ad for an upcoming Disney movie

Eagerly awaiting FD, DH and I were suppose to do solo trip, 3 small kids under 11 but I feel guilty leaving them for Disney - LOL
I think we are taking them now and will love the FD if it's offered.

I understand that feeling!!! We are abandoning our 18 and 21 year olds and I still feel guilty. LOL More so for my daughter. My son didn't even go last time, because he isn't a big fan anymore.

can you not take them or is this an adult get away? im 26 and still go with my parents to disney every year. i pay my own way now of course but my dad says as long as i still wanna go we will go there for our family vacation.....looks like hes gonna be going forever!! haha

It is our first just us trip ANYWHERE! We technically could take my daughter, but would have to go during peak crowds, because she is in college. As I said, son is not interested in going. We bribed my daughter with a promise of a college graduation trip, where she gets to do all the planning, resort picking, etc. She is good with it, I am the one with the guilt. LOL

I only have a little guilt for not taking my kids on this trip. I'll find things and think, aw the kids would love that. But they got to go last year for a week, which we are still paying on. So it's just a short 3 day adult trip with my mom, which is going to be awesome. We probably won't be back to Disney World for a long time after this, so we're going to suck up what we can until we can afford for everyone to go again.

So I'm guessing the general train of thought is to go ahead and book whatever dining reservations you can get your hands on now, and just wait it out for Free Dining to arrive, and grab what you can, as opposed to booking now and hoping you can finagle getting it applied to your reservation?

If your trip is dependent on free dining, then yes. Just wait to book, but you can still do your dining reservations at 180 days out, I believe.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily dependent on free dining, but if my calculations are correct free dining should save us somewhere in the ballpark of $600, which is absolutely amazing if I can pull it off.

We will be going whether free dining is offered or not. We are somewhat flexible with our dates, but no matter what we will go mid November. I would LOVE free dining, but I won't cancel my reservation if I cannot get it.

Some people have concerns that people book "place holder" reservations in hopes of getting free dining and will cancel if it isnt released or they don't get it. This can cause bookings too look fuller to Disney and possibly hurt chances of the promo being as robust as previous years.

You should be fine to preplan where you want to eat and what ADR's you need to book. From my understanding you do not need a room reservation to do this if you are still debating on firming up your plans.

We are definitely going fall of 2016 but would need 2 rooms at that time. Could I book a BB for 2 rooms if our reservation this year is only 1 room? (knowing it would be $200/room deposit)

you would need to put one of the rooms in your DHs name and one in yours
