Free Dining Anonymous (and a whole lot more)

Thanks! Actually, this was taken on March 7 (it was around 50 degrees, I think). About 3 snowfalls ago. :rotfl2: It's really nice today. High of 69 and sunny. Of course, there is 30 mph winds at the moment. We can't have everything be nice all at once. Something always has to get in the way. :rotfl: Dayton's Spring football scrimmage is Sunday, and we have a similar forecast to today. Should be an interesting kicking game. "Keep you eye on the ball" takes on a whole new meaning around here. Not to hit or catch it, but to not be hit by it. :lmao:

:lmao: I understand exactly....Spring takes it's sweet time gettin' here too!

We never had "Spring football". Both my sons played football, but in the fall. Hope it's a nice day for your game. :)

I've been reading for a few months and now it is getting so exciting, I must join in the fun. Hoping to go the 3rd or 4th weekend in October, so this promo isn't for me, but I hope it means good things for the rest of fall!

We've gotten free dining the last two years - December 2012 at POFQ and October 2013 at POR. I'd love to try a new resort, but need queen beds. So that means CSR. Anyone have opinions? I have a daughter who will be 10 and a son who will be 7 by that trip. We LOVED POFQ and then enjoyed a Royal Room at POR.

Since we could not get POR last year we went to CSR. We have stayed at BC and ASMu (family suite). CSR was okay, but not great. I loved the big rooms and the resort was beautiful, but it was very, very large. So large in fact that I never made it to the pool area, the kids and DH did though, but only twice. We went with a preferred room and requested 1st floor. We got building 3, 3rd floor on the far back side, as far away from an elevator as you could get. (2 of us have very bad knees.) So it was still a walk to the Pepper Market.

I liked the resort, but I did not like the room placement, especially since we paid extra. While it was very nice, it did not feel like disney. But the kids did say the big pool was fun, especially the slide.

Smitch, she is adorable. But at least she is not to big for a tiara. You have raised her right.

Thanks! :goodvibes We got that dress for $19.99 at Burlington's. They had a ton of great dresses. This was the first one she tried on, but she tried 7 others just to be sure. :rotfl2: Her shoes were $15 or $20 from Kmart. It's hard to tell in the photo, but they are wedges, and tall. She had lip gloss on, too, which was a treat for her. She was so excited, and had a blast. If she ends up doing BBB, she'll probably wear this dress, but for $20, we might find a different one. Not sure what she will want to do.
I love her look! She looks like a true young lady!! I appreciate when parents teach their children to dress tastefully and fun in the process. And-you cannot beat the price. Gorgeous. :-)

Thanks! It is just a public scrimmage to cap off the end of Spring workouts/practice. The real season starts in August. We hate missing UD games for our Disney trips. We once tried going in June in to avoid that, but one time was all it took to know that October is best for us. :rotfl2:

Thanks to both of you! :goodvibes She loves wearing dresses, but doesn't wear them that often. Just for special events, and sometimes at church. Makeup is extremely rare. She's been in three weddings, she did the mermaid package at PL, and a couple of school dances. That's about it. She starts middle school this fall, so I will let her have a little more freedom with that. I don't really wear makeup, though, so she's just not really used to it being around.

Got three snail mails from Disney today!
Disney Planning DVD we ordered for this year.
and two other mailers with dates for October rates with a package code. Not sure it was much off though.

At least it's a good sign I'm getting mail from them! :)

If it was a 3 digit code, then it is just an advertisement for rack rates. The good news is that you are on their radar. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Very well put.

Don't let DD's innocent look fool you, though. She can break a wooden board with a swift kick or a palm strike like it's nothing. :lmao: My kids are testing for their brown belts in tae kwon do two weeks from tomorrow. :goodvibes

Anyone know of a good place to go for the Disney/Vera Bradley Bags? I've heard a few rumors, that a lot of the stores are sold out all the time.:wave2:

I think Disney is the only thing that could get me to run a half marathon. It already makes me walk that much every day we are there. A friend of a friend did it last year and loved it!

That's what I told my runner friend. Disney is the only reason I would run. Lol

That's great! Just to let others know, I was unable to locate the page using the Facebook app on my phone. I had to go to the mobile website to find the page (and I'm sure there would have been no problem using the desktop version).

Ah ok...I'll have to try that

They are sold at The World of Disney store in Downtown Disney and at Uptown Jewelers in the MK. They can also be purchased through Disney Parks merchandise on DisneyStore.com. But yes, they sell out quickly and can be tricky to get. Good luck! They are coming out with a new pattern on May 4, here is the link:

Right now we are going through Vera Bradley mayhem; it's the BIG outlet sale here in Fort Wayne, IN. I'm just hoping I can make it out alive to get to South Bend tomorrow...the place is crazy! : )

VT, thanks for your opinion! I had heard it was a huge resort, this is good to know. I fantasize about staying at each resort once... :flower3: I think ideally we'd go to POFQ, but if there is no FD there, we'd stay elsewhere. I think my kids would love CBR but I cannot do the double beds. We like our sleeping space too much!

Smitch, your daughter is beautiful! I love the tiara!

They have been restocking several times recently, and bags are now in all 4 parks. If you are on Facebook, join the Disney Vera Bradley Lovers page. There are people there that buy them and ship them to members for great prices. Just got a sneak peek of the newest pattern coming out this fall. It is Vera's Clementine pattern, with Mickey and Minnie on it. It is called Mickey and Minnie Bouncing Bouquet. So far, bags have been spotted at WoD, Summer Lace at GF, Uptown Jewelers in the MK, Mouse Gears at Epcot, Once Upon a Time at DHS and Disney Outfitters at AK.
