Free Dining Anonymous (and a whole lot more)

So if anyone noticed I changed my signature. I will not be staying onsite in July (assuming my nephew's team gets a bid to nationals).

The offsite location offered the entire 7 day window for the tournament and a few days before and after at a rate that was just too good to pass up. (1 bedroom full kit for $100 a night). So we will stay there and I will do some hit and run passes at the park in between games during the Nationals. The two days after the last game will be spent doing some other attractions but baseing out of the resort.

I will not be doing WDW in the summer at all if they don't make the cut.

However I am actively planning Oct now. I can hope for FD but I will also take RO (or AP room only) if that is a possibility.

My mom really liked FD last year, but is okay if we end out of the window. So I'm going to wish all of you Aug-Sept hopefuls the best of luck and hope that they extend out a bit later this summer.

So I have been following both threads and I am having a hard time finding the answer to my question... If I already have a reservation through a TA using the MM discount at a deluxe and if free dining is offered during my vacay, how does it work? Does my TA have to book a new ressie for me? Or can they just modify my existing?

Contact your TA and she can make the changes for you.

Has anyone on here ever run the Disney Princess Half Marathon? I have a couple of friends that want to do it next year and I am not a runner.......but it is Disney.....:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I want to soooo bad! Maybe not the half, but definitely the 10K! I know those who did this and said it was so much fun! And not everyone is a runner; you can choose to not submit your time and just be in the back of the pack-like me! You just have to be able to keep a 16 min/mile pace.:flower3:

I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS ABOUT DOING THIS! ANYONE WANT TO JOIN ME? Last year Disney Visa card holders were offered first chance at registering with a discounted price, I think $50 off???? And I believe it was around September. This is off the top of my head; anyone know for sure?

Didn't get to get filled in on what's going on in the last thread but had to make sure I moved over here before I missed out on anything! :wave2:
Now I won't feel like I am going "off-topic" when so many are focused and obsessing over free dining like I was last year. :goodvibes

glad you found your way over here. I don't want to get in the way off the 2014 FD folks, have to admit I do feel a bit left out of the excitement.

My sister did e-mail and ask me when in 2016 we were going back and where we were staying. she never asks questions about WDW this far out; very good sign.

I follow these threads too and am excitedly awaiting the next promo... I know it probably won't include our dates in Dec but I can hope for some pixie dust... it'll be our son's first Disney trip! Well at least outside of the uterus lol... went when I was 4 months pregnant... we took our daughter for the first time a decade ago and now we want to repeat that trip for him! Praying for FD

Yay, finally you named the forum after my obsession, ahem, I mean my....well, you know! ;)

Come on, Black, awaiting some good news and updates...and you don't HAVE to wear tights....just the cape! Because capes are cool! :cool1:

I'm doing the wine & dine for the first time in November! I'd be happy to so the princess too and join you!!! I am not much of a runner but I can keep a 15min mile

Will definitely be following along in this thread! :thumbsup2 Love the anticipation of wondering when FD will be announced! :rotfl2:

Oh, and someone asked about the Princess Half? My sister did last year, and I went with her on that trip, and just being in the parks while it was going on was awesome! I'm really hoping to do it in 2015 (when it's announced in August I think I'm signing up!) BUT...I'm NOT a runner! AT. ALL. So I really gotta get my behind moving if I want to finish those 13 miles next year! I don't expect to run the whole thing, but I'd like to be fast enough to take pictures with characters and not worry about the sweepers behind me! :sad2:

I would love to join you, but there is no way I could be ready this year. Maybe this is the motivation I need to get back into shape. I'll start tomorrow. :cheer2:

Would anyone be willing to give me the odds of getting FD? I'm already booked with the MM for mid-September at POR (family of 5). I do have a Disney Visa card. I've read that POR both books up quickly and slowly. Please either just burst my bubble or calm my nerves. This roller coaster is making me crazy, :(. I know nothing is a given, but any sage advice would be helpful.

Well, one day we'll be planning our (most likely) 2016 trips together! In the meantime, we'll watch everyone else's good news I guess. You are planning to go in the fall of 2016?
My twin sister and her family are going down in less than 2 weeks! I would have postponed my November trip and gone at the same time if I had known, but they didn't expect to be able to go. One day it will work out for us. I always tell my sisters that one day when the kids are all grown, we will do a sisters only trip.

I can only speak from experience, since we only go in September, but I have never had any trouble getting Standard rooms at POR with the FD add-on. Last year, I did four rooms at once for my party of 18 (yeah, that was some crazy planning on my part--SHEW!!). So, maybe I just got lucky, but September has not been a problem personally. Looks like later in the year might be a bit more sketchy . . .

My dad talks about a family trip, and as much as I would jump on any chance to go to Disney, I would not look forward to it as much as just my family. My sister and I have a complicated relationship, she has always had to make everything a competition and I am just sick of it. She would try to control the trip, from where we stay to what we do and eat, even though I am more into Disney than she is. She just has to be in control though. She would insist we stay at AoA but we would end up in LM rooms them (don't need to pay the extra for the suite unless we would share the room with my parents, and then DH would kill me) and we don't do double beds. But that way she would have the "better" room as she has a family of 5.

A Disney half marathon is on my to-do list too! Not sure which one. Actually thought of doing our next trip a week earlier to try to do the F&W but a trip with the races would be a much different trip than the usual vacation. And I'm not ready to give that up yet for the money we spend to go. One day. I REALLY want the runDisney shoes and wish they were available outside the race events. Those are more elusive than Vera Bradley bags!

Glad we have this to keep the group going! Hoping for FD for our November trip but will be nice to keep up with you guys on "so much more!"
