Free Dining 2014 Discussion

I have a question: I've booked with a pin, but it has since expired so to speak. Can I switch resorts within the pin still since I've booked with it or am I locked into where I'm at now? Thanks!

Ok...going to rant for a moment...everyone needs to remember that Joe only passes along what he hears. If you want to base your entire trip on what he says that's fine. But don't backlash when it doesn't happen. And for the few that managed to get some serious pixie dust today...CONGRATULATIONS! Ignore the comments and smarta$$ remarks. I am in the Port Orleans boat... My fiancé and I LOVE French Quarter, but it seems the only way you can get a discount is with a pin (which we have for the wrong times... curses!). So, we decided to try Riverside so that we could get free dining because it has always been included...

We definitely DON'T want twin beds... So, I guess our next option is going to be CSR... Which we have been to before, but weren't crazy about it... Not sure what our backup plan after that one is... Guess I have to go plan some more..

They are full beds not twins, not sure if that helps. A queen is 6" wider than a full and 5"longer.

I promise people I would never do this to anyone. Check my past post, you will find that I am not just pulling peoples leg. I must have gotten some serious pixie dust this morning. When my groups are over I will call back and change something and see what the CM says. I did not get dates, just mine. I was in a real hurry, I am at school and my first group starts at 7:15 so was trying to get off the phone.

My dates are Sept 30-Oct 12
Hoping that possibly resorts were not fully loaded yet and that we can still get into POR

I have to get to work but came back home to link the reservation number I was given in My Disney Experience and it came up. No email yet. Was in a hurry to get the kids to school and off to work so I couldn't get any other details. Just what I posted earlier. Booked under FD for Visa Holders (not a PIN). Both Port Orleans were excluded. We are at Caribbean Beach September 19-27 with free dining. Coronado also included but no availability on my dates.

Good luck everyone else. So glad I called back. I am sincerely grateful that I got a CM that had the info. But just sick that it isn't going out across the board. I hope the memo goes out to all the CMs soon. Don't know what's going on but hope Pixie dust is sprinkled liberally and soon!

On my My Disney Experience account it lists my package as "MYW Pkg + FREE Dining". Good luck!

I couldn't agree more! For the people backlashing against Joe, if it weren't for him we wouldn't even have these projected dates and release dates for this promo.. Walk softly folks. He does nothing but help us, if it weren't for his information in this thread 98% of us wouldn't have any clue to have even called today. It's coming and Disney is the only one who has control of it. Be thankful for the tip offs because joe and everyone else that pitches in with these efforts to help us find out about up coming offers, they don't have to help us and if I were joe and getting feed back like some of you have given I wouldn't care to help again in the future. Please please please joe don't leave us lol! Let's all be kind and remember we are all on these boards to HELP eachother with our trips.

CM I spoke with said regarding my FD inquiry, "That's coming out tomorrow" I almost dropped the phone at how she just blurted that so casually!!! Then she paused, maybe realizing she shouldn't have slipped and she said, "Well, SOMETHNING is coming out tomorrow. But it gets VERY busy, so call early, we open at 7. If I were you I'd be on the phone right at 7. Remember it's based upon availability so you want to call right away."

I'm feeling hopeful. We are a family of 5. If POR is excluded we've decided we will spend the extra $ to bump up to a Deluxe (hopefully Beach Club). It would only be a little more than staying at POR and paying oop for our food. Never stayed at a deluxe so that prospect is exciting! I can't imagine how cool it is to walk to Epcot!

We all beg for any info Joe has, and he tells us. It very well could have been all true, and Disney switched it to try and get us to quit listening to tip offs. I personally would rather he give us the info, and be wrong, then to not tell us because he's afraid of the backlash....and we all miss it. Keep "whispering" Joe, we are listening......People, quit bashing the couple that got pixie dust. We are all jealous, but not need to be mean, that person has been a member for a long time, and not a troll.

I just got off the phone with one of the sweetest CMs I've ever talked to. After joking about getting up early to call and at least being able to enjoy the sunrise she finished up by saying "Sweetie, tomorrow's sunrise will be even better and definitely worth it!". Take it for what it's worth but hopefully code for.....it's coming tomorrow!

That's a good sign!! I'm up early anyway everyday so that doesn't bother me!

So if it's only CSR and CBR for mods, thats not a lot of mod rooms for the FD promo???

I has a similar experience. Super sweet cast member and after she SD nothing today I asked if she knew when and she said. I would try back first thing in the morning. Its great way to start the weekend. Fingers crossed!!!

Ok just got off the phone and switched my original reservation from Pop to Wilderness Lodge (yahoo). I got my discount from before which was a room only discount. I asked her if free dining came out would I be able to apply she said yes (if rooms were available). So I will hope my room qualifies. She was very sweet. I did mention how I had heard there was a Disney Visa discount she said there was nothing as of yet. I am thinking I did save some money because my original deal was 25% off room at POP and I had added the dining with the 1 Ts, 1 CS and 1 snack when I did it. So if free dining did come out I would have had to add to do the upgrade (where they only do the quick service meal plan at the value). So where there are only 2 of us I may have a better deal with the 30% I did add on the dining plan as well and will continue to hope for free dining.

Said twin... thought full... Thanks for mentioning that! Still not worth it... We will probably try for CSR (although it sounded like LoveSplashMountain is going the same time we are)... So, I am getting less optimistic about that... If THAT doesn't work then I guess we will just have to pay full price at either of the Port Orleans resorts and hope for some sort of room discount
