Free Dining 2014 Discussion

I remember that! The first year we had free dining was 2006 and that's when it was still all included in the plan. Ahhh the good 'ol days.

We plan on staying at a Mod with FD. Do you have to use table service credit for only table service? Or can it be used for quick service dining?
Also, if it can be used for quick service is the table service credit worth 2 quick service credits?

You can use table service for quick service, but not vice versa. It is one for one.

We did FD in 2011. I don't recall getting the refillable mug with it. Does Disney usually take that out of the deal, or did we miss something back then? Living and learning

We've done free regular dining almost every year since 2007, and have always gotten the mug included. I have an entire cupboard full of them!

Any news tonight Black? Finally sitting down after the longest day ever. Morning egg hunt, 2 baseball practices and grocery shopping. Came home from youngest sons practice to find my 10 year old dislocated his thumg and needed to go to the ER. Can we say this mom needs a vacation? 5 months to go and I need some good news this weekend. Catching up on today's posts and don't see much discussion about the Monday date.

We've done FD every year since 2006, and definitely did not get them free until 2012. We always paid for them except the last 2 years. The reason I know is we only bought 2, because we couldn't justify it for the others because we don't drink soda. But the last 2 years we got 5 because they were free.

This mug business is driving me bonkers! Every old post I can find about the regular DDP (not DxDDP or QSDP) says that the mugs were not part of the plan, and that people were purchasing them separately. I don't know why it would have been such a big deal when they announced that they would be "new in 2012" if they were already included. Seriously...this is making me nuts! I just want to know!!!! Even though it doesn't even really matter!!!! What is wrong with me????

I have done the same thing today. I have gone through past Disney stuff on and off all day to find one invoice besides my 2012 vacation that says mugs included. We have so many mugs and I can't imagine paying for these things OOP when we don't really eat at resort food courts. When I get time and everyone leaves this house I will find the answer.

We won't give up on Monday until Monday. But the information for May 1 is no more or no less than Monday. Either way, things are on the home stretch. Hopefully we will know more tomorrow and see what happens.

I think I'm obsessing about this because my ADR date is tomorrow, and I never make ADRs, but DD wants to do BBB and I'm going to try to get CRT for the same morning. I know I'm just deflecting my nervous energy to something completely unimportant. I don't think I'm going to get any sleep tonight!

Oh, I think that you will do fine! I have never had trouble getting CRT that time of year! Piece of cake!

My ADR date is tomorrow too...and I am seriously jazzed! I have never done the 180 days, so I'm a little nervous, but I have my spreadsheet with the prioritized ADR's and backups, my alarm is set, and I am pretty much ready. My husband says that I am obsessing, but I just call it good planning.

That was my first experience with the DP and FD....was also our first stay onsite. That dining plan rocked!!!
