Free Dining 2013

Thanks for the post. I have 2 reservations, one for me and my husband and one for my daughter. I got two confirmations with the updated cost, but only one email (for my daughters reservation) that shows I have added free dining. I know that it's correct on both because of the price change. I had the room discount, but gave that up for the free dining. I guess I'll have to call on Monday....

My other question going through my head it we are all All Star Sports, and now that they have announce the food court remodel, I just don't know if I should move us to All Star Movies.... we eat breakfast there 6 of the 7 days, and to have to take a bus to another location for breakfast instead of just walking there seems like a waste of time.... I know many people posted just to stay there, but I still question it.... thoughts anyone...

Unless you are sold on the sports theme, I would move. We don't use the resort food courts too often, but it sounds like you do.

I would move at that point... you would have to get up every morning earlier to lug over to a different hotel.

For me, the less we have to do in the mornings, the better. In fact, just heading over to a cafeteria/restaurant is usually more than I want to do in the morning which is why we usually bring our own cereal baggies and stuff to eat in the room.

Thank you both, Jensieb and MackenzieFl, my daughter (age 24) really wanted sports this years (3 years ago we stayed at Music), but it just sounds like a hassle. I haven't called her yet to tell her of this new dilemma....
Great idea with the cereal baggies!!

If you are going to eat breakfast at the food court I would definitely change too. That is way too much of a hassle in the morning. Now if it was for lunch or dinner, I might consider it more of an adventure than a hassle. ;)

Does anyone know when I would get tickets for the dessert party to watch fireworks and is it worth it?

We did it in May 2011, we really liked it! It was so neat to have Tink fly right over! The only bad thing was our kids were 5 & 2, our DS 2 fell asleep and didn't eat anything (which is ok bc we didn't pay for him!) :cool1: But our DD 5 did NOT eat much maybe 3 items, she just doesn't eat much anytime! :lmao: it was a little pricey if you don't eat a lot! We ate a late lunch and this was a VERY special treat for "dinner" although they still didn't eat much! We were hoping they may eat more doing that! It was a great experience! We aren't doing this time bc we are doing MNSSHP, but would do again. They seat you at a table with a cute paper that says welcome smith family party of 4! We kept for our scrapbook! They also had photo pass photographers and we got awesome pics with castle behind us! :woohoo:

Worked like a charm for me. I was very concerned, because many said the website crashes and doesn't give you the +10. I made 10 of my 14 reservations. The only reason I have to call for the other 4 is because Rainforest and Trex won't let you book for more than 8 people and the other 2 are overlapping reservations. I didn't even think to put in my cousin's before mine on those days or even that wouldn't have been an issue. Calling in 10 minutes to get those things cleared up and I am done!!!! :)

Congrats that's awesome! :woohoo:

A little late, but way to go!!!!:yay::woohoo::yay:

If you use the food court that much it wouldn't hurt to check availability of other places, especially if you're looking for hot food. They will still offer cereal, cold, grab and go items. We always pack pop tarts, granola/protein bars, cereal and now that the rooms have a fridge, milk, and eat in the room.

I've seen a few people say the same thing. I'm having this issue too. I don't think there was a fix. Having to call to apply a payment. My updated res also doesn't say anything about my dining plan even though it updated the room type and I haven't received an email after getting the FD. Did you get a confirmation email after applying FD?

It took me about 2 days to get the email confirmation after applying the FD code. And mine still says its unable to load pmt info. And I got FD last Friday....the 10th.

Thanks! We are doing MNSSHP too so I think we will skip. I really want to do one year!

I got all excited when the mail came. Even though I know what it is. It was the res info from my original booking. Have you gotten a second postal mail from Disney with the full update on both rooms?

I'm up with you....a bad dream will do that though. I got on here for happy thoughts to fall back to sleep to lol

Just in case you haven't heard. There is a thread for Sept 2013 that people are announcing ADR's they are cancelling and when they will be cancelling them. Many are for BOG. Check it out. You might be able to score!

Do note, only cancellations can be listed; can not post ADR's that are wanted.

Ok...so I just called again to check if I had a pin and no luck....BUT I spoke with an Awesome CM and I said, "my friend got a pin so I was hoping you could just check for me"...and when she said, no I'm sorry you don't, BUT did you kow your friend can book up to three rooms with that pin code? So now that I've armed you with some knowledge you might want to call your friend:) I asked and she said they don't have to be family and once the reservation is made you can call and make any changes...put it on your own account, etc.!!!! Well...when I said friend, I meant "friends" here in the disboards. I would be SO THANKFUL if anyone that wasn't able to use their FD pin for Nov. would be able to make a ressie for me and we can pass the magic amongst those who really LOVE WDW! Please PM me if anyone would be so willing. With four kiddos FD is the best value for us and only way we can go. And my 180 mark is tomorrow!!

I wonder if you could change the ressie to their name and them add it as well?

Blessed With, I do know someone was told the same thing by a CM and they asked the same question a few days ago, and the following was what they were told. Sorry, I don't want to put a damper on your enthusiasm, I really do understand how important FD can be. Some wiser than me, are leaning towards the probability that a GP offer will be announced in late July including many of the dates listed on the Pin offer.:goodvibes

Oh my! You were given some very inaccurate information. You can NOT share pin codes and they are name specific and non-transferrable. A friend or family member could book a FD room/reservation for you, but everyone would need to be linked and included in the reservation system.

The pin code can be used 3 times, but the person on it has to use it first then others can. I never heard it only being used once, but I do know most CM's are pretty strict about making sure the person listed on it is using it too. And usually your trips have to overlap. Some say they don't, but most will.
