Free Dining 2013

I know! So far nobody has said if the wait is still like that. I know for us and a lot of people it will be our first time going since it has opened, so could be a possibility on certain days. But hopefully with September being slower it won't be.

I have heard the wait is usually 30 minutes, sometimes 45 right now. And the line does actually move fairly fast. I haven't gone myself to know for sure though.

We don't have park hoppers either. Our schedule looks like this so far:

9/18 - arrival no plans yet
9/19 - MK 7:10 BOG dinner reservation
9/20 - Epcot - 10:40am Akershus reservation
9/21 - HS - 5:20 (I think) 50's PTC reservation
9/22 - AK - 6:15 Hoop De Doo reservation
9/23 - maybe back to MK or DTD - 10:40am Chef Mickey's reservation
9/24 - fly home

Hopefully we can fit in a meet with some of you during our trip!

Usually around 2 months before. I personally haven't tried it, but I do know people that do love it.

What I've heard is that if you plan for an early lunch and hit the line about 15 minutes before opening, you are in pretty good shape.

wondering if others are still having issues since changing to free dining that it says the balance on account in unable to load.... I'd like to see the balance and make an online payment.... I know others had the same issue, has any been corrected? Thanks!!

Like anything at Disney we play it by ear.

We're planning on going for lunch. We figured Sept. is likely to have the lowest crowds so we'd give it a go. If it's crazy-long, we go elsewhere, and we do it next time.

16 minutes to ADR time! I really hope I get free dining, but have the dining plan regardless. Do you think I will have to sign out of MDE and back in to get my 180+10. I really hope it works, because I can't figure out how to get into the old system and I am sure everyone is sleeping but me. LOL

Worked like a charm for me. I was very concerned, because many said the website crashes and doesn't give you the +10. I made 10 of my 14 reservations. The only reason I have to call for the other 4 is because Rainforest and Trex won't let you book for more than 8 people and the other 2 are overlapping reservations. I didn't even think to put in my cousin's before mine on those days or even that wouldn't have been an issue. Calling in 10 minutes to get those things cleared up and I am done!!!!

You will probably have to call rainforest and T-rex directly for those. They only have so many online with disney and from my experience all the big ones need to be called in to them directly.
Also if you are going during Thanksgiving time, they won't allow big parties at all and will have to split them up.

Just called both. Not going at Thanksgiving, got exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for your help. Now I will be good until I decide to change things here and there, but with so many people I am going to try to control that urge.

I'm glad everything worked out! My ADR day was yesterday and I used the new site too. Everything worked perfectly for me too.

I've seen a few people say the same thing. I'm having this issue too. I don't think there was a fix. Having to call to apply a payment. My updated res also doesn't say anything about my dining plan even though it updated the room type and I haven't received an email after getting the FD. Did you get a confirmation email after applying FD?

Thanks for the post. I have 2 reservations, one for me and my husband and one for my daughter. I got two confirmations with the updated cost, but only one email (for my daughters reservation) that shows I have added free dining. I know that it's correct on both because of the price change. I had the room discount, but gave that up for the free dining. I guess I'll have to call on Monday....

My other question going through my head it we are all All Star Sports, and now that they have announce the food court remodel, I just don't know if I should move us to All Star Movies.... we eat breakfast there 6 of the 7 days, and to have to take a bus to another location for breakfast instead of just walking there seems like a waste of time.... I know many people posted just to stay there, but I still question it.... thoughts anyone...
