Free Dining 2013

I just got off the phone with Disney and they confirmed that I do not have a pin code associated with my name. The CM told me that if I have a friend or family member with a pin that I could use it as they allow each code to be used up to three times. I was very surprised by that as most people are of the opinion that they can only be used by the person receiving it and that it can only be used once.
I’m looking to go right after Thanksgiving so if someone with a FD pin for this time would be willing to share it with me through a PM. I’ll give it a try and see if it works.

The pin code can be used 3 times, but the person on it has to use it first then others can. I never heard it only being used once, but I do know most CM's are pretty strict about making sure the person listed on it is using it too. And usually your trips have to overlap. Some say they don't, but most will.

Pretty sure you have to be travelling together to use a friend or family's pin. So you would need to check in and possibly out on the same day and I think be staying at the same resort. So might be hard finding a random stranger to meet that criteria.

Your trip just has to overlap and you do not have to stay at the same resort.

Is that true because everything iv read here states different. That would be great since my sister is going 11/1-11/11 and I'm going 11/10-11/17 but I don't think that would fly with the cm's.

Wow, that is very strange when so many people have been told they cannot use them for many various reasons. Sounds like some cms are more lenient than others.

It was last year. My friend checked in on 11/1 and I checked in on 11/12. We used the same pin. She never had to come to the desk or anything and she was checking out that day too. The resort CM's don't care, it's getting past the phone CM's, but if you overalp it should work and I would call back till someone makes it work

The only thing is if she does get this pin, she is staying at fort wilderness which does not get free dining. I'm the one staying at a resort so I'm not

Phone cm's are not good at all. many are, but many are not. Some actually read updates or retain info, while others have no clue.

That's ok, I'm sure this will go to the general public and I have a Disney visa so that's a plus. Since my arrival date is the 10th of November I will probably do a room only ress. Then start my pkg om the 11th. I hope this does go public since I already made all my adrs for that week and believe me, that took up most of my morning on Tuesday with that dam new site

She rented a camper from an outside company. She knows she is probably giving up free dining but she just can't give up the camping. Refuses a hotel

One other way to make it work, it depends on how many you have in your room already, but if you have 3 and she hasn't gotten tickets yet, you could add her to your reservation.

I hope it comes to the general public too. I will be making my ADRs on Saturday!!! Already prepping for the annoying site. LOL I remember now that you said she is renting a camper. That actually sounds like fun to me, but if it cost as much as staying in a room with free dining, that would be a done deal for me.

We are going for 10 days and giving the 7 & 9 yos $100 each to spend on whatever souvenirs they want. Would you do the Disney bucks you can get on Main Street or get them the gift card?

We use both Disney Dollars and gift cards for our 7yos and 9 yo. For your situation, I'd recommend using gift cards -they are easier to carry and use.

Disney dollars are ideal if you want to reward or gift small amounts before your trip. We convert them to gift cards before we leave. If the kids don't use all their Disney Dollars at once, they will end up with a wad of both disney dollars and cash to keep track of and carry around.

I do love Disney Dollars though. We use them to encourage the kids to practice their music for months before a trip.

I think the cost of the camper,golf cart and site will probably run her 220.00 per night. I personally would rather stay at POR with free dining but I do love camping

Thanks but she has everything bought and paid for. I do have three to a room with two adults and one child but I think I would have to pay for the added adult to the ress. Almost all of my pin codes have come by snail mail so maybe next week I might see something. If not ill be waiting with everyone else for it to open up for the general public.
