We always get our kids a gift card with their spending money on it - much easier to keep up with.

Pin codes are random, they are sent out to people who already have reservation and who don't have reservations and who have never been and who go multiple times per year - very random.

I always look at the weekly WDW updates Mouseplanet.com, as he is really good at keeping up with refurbs and closings.

That's what I was thinking too. That All-Star Music/Movies food court would be a lot busier with the bussing in of all the Sports people. So glad we did AoA this year; Sports is usually our go-to resort. Feelin bad for all those just finding this out after they just booked a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah I'm a bit concerned since we are booked at AS Movies. DD really wants AS Movies.

Since AS Music is closer to sports would it get the larger portion of people or would the buses alternate which resort they took them too? And of course this will add more people in line to the parks after their meals.

Question. We are thinking we may take our MIL with us as a surprise... I made my reservations for 4 not 5, should I cll disney now And see if they can switch them to 5? If not ill go through and make new ones but don't know if they would do that if possible ?

I would call now to ask if they can add one more person to your reservations. They will try to accomodate the request if at all possible. Hope you are able to do that - good luck! (If MIL ends up not going w/ you, it's always easier to reduce the number of people in your party than it is to increase the number.
You could try making all new reservations, too, but you run the risk of not being able to get reservations for particular restaurants. )

I am making my family and myself crazy waiting for a pin. I'm always checking my email and just wishing..... Oh, it would be nice if Disney opened up the FD pin to the general public. Here's hoping

The October - December FD dates are not typically released until July, sometimes August. Most of these pin code FD dates, except for the August dates, will most likely come out for the general public this summer.

More good points that offer up a bit of a dilemma for Music/Movies people. I bet they are going to do alternating resorts. And I bet you're right about people staying and waiting for the bus at AsMu/AsMo's.

I'm sure it will add some traffic to Movies and Music, but September is a very low crowd season and, really, a lot of people at Sports will probably just eat more in the parks. Also, they will have cold coolers and check outs set up in the arcade. We always stay at the All Stars and might use the food court twice to sit down and have a meal and that's probably the case with a lot of people. I, personally, wouldn't cancel my reservation at Movies if Sports was having the renovation while I was there.

We usually grab breakfast in the food court before hitting the bus and getting to the park right about rope drop. But then again the whole mess might take more people away from the AS's and leave it pretty empty. Well except those that don't bother to do any sort of research and know nothing about the whole situation.

Totally agree with you. I would never switch either, even if we were at Sports, me and my crowd-a-aphobia behavior would be hoping people did switch making ASsp a ghost town. We mostly go in Sept and stay at AS, and when walking through the food court, I do see the same families over and over again eating there. I guess I was just thinking about those people and how they might be affected.

I guess I was surprised at how long the renovation for AS Sp food court is scheduled to take. It must going to be Amazing!!! We were at AS Sp when they were remodeling the guest rooms and I could not believe how fast it went. A building they started working on Monday had guests checking in on Friday.

The CM told me that if I have a friend or family member with a pin that I could use it as they allow each code to be used up to three times. I was very surprised by that as most people are of the opinion that they can only be used by the person receiving it and that it can only be used once.
I’m looking to go right after Thanksgiving so if someone with a FD pin for this time would be willing to share it with me through a PM. I’ll give it a try and see if it works.

Pretty sure you have to be travelling together to use a friend or family's pin. So you would need to check in and possibly out on the same day and I think be staying at the same resort. So might be hard finding a random stranger to meet that criteria.

Sorry I just used my for 3 rooms. We are saving $262 per person with free dining. But my TA said that I was the only one that could use it. It just happened that when we booked the rooms over a month again I made all of the arrangements. Lucky that my sister or our friend didn't because neither one of them had the Free Dining pin connected to their names.

That is absolutely correct. Unless the person is in your travel party, it's a no go. The CM was incorrect to tell someone that they could just use anyone's name.

Plus, sharing or posting a PIN code on here is a violation of the board guidelines. So beware...

Oh my! You were given some very inaccurate information. You can NOT share pin codes and they are name specific and non-transferrable. A friend or family member could book a FD room/reservation for you, but everyone would need to be linked and included in the reservation system.
