WOW!! Okay so either you really like kids or you haven't figured out that the water is contaminated and therefore you need to stop drinking it!!!
:rotfl2:

I REALLY like dh. LOL
No, really, we are blessed to have 8 great kids. No contaminated water here!

HAHA We digress but I needed that today. You are so blessed. I have two wonderful kids and would have more IF I could afford them!

I understand from reading these boards that every CM says something slightly different.

Well, I called in just a moment ago to ask if there was any offer connected to us for a fall trip. She did not look but said that it is WAY too early for a fall offer (public or Visa). She said they don't know what offers are coming but fall offers will be made mid-summer. I hope they don't wait that long! :goodvibes

However, I was pressured heavily to book a package. I replied that I didn't want to book a trip I wasn't sure we would take. 1) It may imply to Dis that no discounts are necessary if people do that and 2) I don't want to hold a room that someone else wants and knows for sure they will be going.

She kept saying that "it's refundable" and "it's only $200". I did not care for being pushed about booking a trip. When I have asked in the past if they work on commission (by the trips booked) I was told they did NOT.

It's MVHO that Disney competes with every movie, restaurant, clothing item, etc. EVERYTHING that that disposable income can be spent on. Not just theme park competition or vacation competition. So I really do think an offer is coming. But I also think we would all be prudent to NOT book vacations in anticipation (unless you will go without the discount).

What do you all think??

Yeah, we discuss that every year. I THINK that in the overall scheme of things, a few packages booked in anticipation don't affect it.
If EVERYONE who was waiting on FD booked, then, yeah, it might.
BUT,,,keep in mind that having a room booked without the code doesn't guarantee getting a room in the same resort with a code. Only so many rooms are set aside at each resort for the code.

Best bet...wait for the code, but have a plan for if it doesn't come out.

I have a plan...I WANT FD for the week after T-giving. But I'm willing to take the last week of FD that goes into October, IF there is no later FD.

If a FD code comes out for the fall, I'm thinking by mid-May, I'll book the October date, and then IF a code comes out in July (like last year) for the rest of the year, I'll call and switch it. Covered either way.
But I won't do it until (and IF) the codes come out, because dh won't be on board without FD or something equivalent (which for us would be free hotel rooms if you buy the dining plan...not going to happen!)

Gonna keep hoping!

[Not as much pressure on me this time...last two trips we were going with extended family at a set date, and I was in charge of "getting the deal". This time we don't plan on telling them we're going. Shhhhh.....]

I didn't elaborate, but not only is dh spoiled by having eaten at all the great WDW restaurants FOR FREE on our previous trips...we also have 8 kids, and there is no other discount that provides such a savings for us! (and still allows us to eat the good stuff.)

We are a family of 8 with 6 kids, so we are in the same boat. (actually now that I think of it, if we were, it may sink:lmao:) Booking 2 values with FD is the absolute best discount for us. I estimated even with upgrading we would still save $1500. Can't beat that.

Talk about togetherness...right? :grouphug:

And we now need THREE rooms...so you feel our pain. :wizard:

I am going with my daughter, my best friend and her daughter this year. She will not go if FD is not offered.:sad1::sad1: No matter what is offered, I will still go!!:upsidedow It will be a lot of fun if they get to go.

My money is on Knox (CanadianGuy)!!!!! He seems to be more informed than the CM's!:rotfl:

Well, I'm out of the prognostication business! I just knew it was today.

*sniffle*

Back to dreaming about imaginary pin codes and dreaming about buying DVC.

I hear you.....

I don't even know why I'm following this thread because I already have free dining and don't have any other trips planned for the remainder of the year. Guess I just like to keep up to date on the latest news.

Me too.....:lmao: I cant pull myself away , I have free dining for July.....:thumbsup2

Good Luck to all that are waiting for their dates to be included in the promotions....:wizard:

6 kids here too but only 2 come with us now..so much easier.

I have a question....forgive me if it was asked already.....

We have been to Disney many times but never used a code....This time we received the Free Dining pin, we weren't going to go but now we think we might. My question is How much are we really saving?

When are you going? What resort are you staying at? Which dining plan are you getting? Are you going to upgrade the dining plan? How many people are in your party? What are their ages? Do you normally eat on-site at Disney? Or do you pack pb&js for the parks or eat in your room?

Without knowing a lot of these facts, it's hard to say, cut & dry, if you are saving a lot of money or a little bit of money.

All Good questions! Staying at WL, 6 nights, 6 days at parks including water parks but not hoppers. Kids are 9 and 15 plus me and hubby. Dining plan is one TS and one QS plus snacks (can't recall the name) per day. We normally eat on site, breakfast supplies in the room. I guess I have to tell you the amount we paid???

We don't really pay-out-of pocket for any food when we are on the Basic Plan (1 TS, 1 CS and 1 Snack), so that pin would save you roughly $135.00 per night so about $820.00 for your 6 night stay. And if you were paying out-of-pocket for the amount of food the DDP provides you would be paying about $900.00. It's a good discount for ya'll.

The only other discount that would be better would be the 40% off room code, which would save you slightly more.

Question for you all, Are FD PINS usually just off the regular Dining Plan (1 QS, 1 TS, 1 snack), or is it off whatever you currently have booked? For example right now we have the Deluxe Dining booked, but wondered (if we got a FD PIN) what it would be off? TIA

No, I have never seen nor heard of any free dining offer, pin or general code, that has ever offered the Deluxe Dining Plan. The current pins that are floating around are for the Quick Service and the Basic Plan. If you received one of those fd pin codes, and wanted to keep your deluxe dining, you would have to pay the difference in the plans.
