>> FREE DINING 2011 WATCH - Read Post # 1 BEFORE Posting

So am I understanding this correctly? We have a trip booked for May 17th thru 25th, staying at POP. So we could just call up Disney and ask if there is a PIN code attatched to our name? Even if we have never gotten anything in the mail? If so, any hope that it would be Free Dinning?

Just joining in on the FD watching.
We've only been once and that was in 2006. I desperately want to go again and I seem to have my mom and sisters on my side but it's my dad we have to convince.

Airfare is killer but I know if FD was available for our tentative travel dates (August 6th - 11th) then it would definitely be doable.

Any tips for us newbies? Besides stalking this thread? ;)

I have fd from a pin that was good way back last fall ...
I am thinking about upgrading from pop (qs) to cbr (ts) ....
We might sit down to eat a few times but really like cs better ...

For about 800 I can change resorts if there is any rooms open with my pin ... Just wondering from the experts if it still a good deal (dates June 1 through June 12 two adults two teens all pass holders). We do have tables in wonderland.

Add us to the list! We are so wishing for Free Dining for this fall. We should have booked last year when offer was announced but did not think there was any chance that we could go again this year.

Good luck to everyone looking for a FD deal. Keep calling until they give you one!!!

There's no way to know, you just have to call and ask. There could be a fd code attached to your name, a resort discount code or nothing at all or you could get a CM that won't even check. Just have to call.

Speculation is that the new fd discounts will start August 13, but it is just specualation at this point.

Do you know how and when we would find out if this offer is available?

I have a trip booked for 8/19 to 8/26 right now with the FD promo from last year but I need to movie it up because of a mandatory work training. Which instead of being on one day they split into several hours over the week.... very frustrating.

The rumor is that the new fd discounts will come out on or about April 15, so we really won't know anything until then. But, the fd codes usually pop up here on the DIS before anywhere else, even Disney's own site, so just stay subscribed to this thread. Again, this is all a rumor. Personally, I think the codes will come out then, but there's no guarantee . . . .

I believe that FD will come out. My guess it will come out for late August to December (I am sure with some block out dates). :thumbsup2 I can't see them offering FD up to September and not offering the promo for the people traveling in the fall.

Phone and ask to speak to Guest Services. Since you already booked with FD they may be able to move your trip and keep the FD. As long as the dates you want to switch to were FD'ing dates & as long as there is room in the resort.

We booked last year with FD for May. Then this year, we switched our trip to September and kept the FD.

Be very careful to count to much on rumors. Everyone was abuzz about the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT on Friday - nothing to notable happened.

Our philophsy is plan a trip you can afford, book it, and go on with life. If a PIN or offer comes out apply it to your trip and now you have extra $$$ to spend at WDW.

If you can not afford to go unless there is an offer than save until you can.

That is just the way we approach it. If we booked and cancelled if something didn't come out we would be so disappointed.

Well, I was one of the people who said there would not be a free dining announcement coming on last Wednesday or Friday. The possible fd free dining date of April 15 came from Knox, so I consider it one of the more "legitimate" rumors out there.

And even if the FD code isn't released ON April 15, I'd bet pretty good money on there being a Fall FD code being released sometime this spring. Mid-August through October is still the height of hurrican season and they are still going to need to fill those rooms with very deep discounts. I won't hazard a guess for free dining past early October, but free dining for dates in Mid-August through early October is highly bankable.

We are probably going to go to Disney at least once per year, free dining or not, but the the fd promo makes it possible for us to do other muliple vacations during the year with the saving it earns us.

There was a lot of buzz but not well founded - it took about 10 minutes of poking around to find out about the DCL announcement and that they were going to start booking on Friday, and about 5 minutes more to dig up the scheduled Shanghai event. Some people are taking every blip and innuendo from CRO and turning it into free dining speculation, as that travel agency podcast showed quite nicely.

Knox has got a pretty good track record so I can understand people putting stock in his April 15 prediction. I'm still guessing Apr 28 Visa/May 3 gen. public myself, based on past years' discount patterns, but with the last two major booking events - the summer discount and the opening of the new DCL itineraries - coming on Fridays maybe Knox's Friday prediction has more merit that I'm giving it.

The podcast was a joke! After hearing it I could not believe that FD was what came out of it. It was like the TA called the CM and from what she relayed the CM said did not scream FD. :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyways........maybe I am just hopeful, but I believe that it will be at no later than the middle of next month....if it is even that long! Still watching the computer for an update!:surfweb:

That could be because there was another going on when you switched. We got it for May. But, it was the FD thay came out this year. Just a thought. Giving a call is always a good idea.:thumbsup2 My DD eceived this one too but, her trip isn't until November and she is hoping for another.

Don't want to stir up more false excitement, but did anyone else get the email yesterday from Disney Rewards? Mine said

"Congratulations! You've earned enough Disney Dream Reward Dollars®¹ to take advantage of a great savings offer just for Cardmembers, coming soon from Disney Store and DisneyStore.com.

You’ll need a Disney Rewards Redemption Card for this offer. Remember, each Disney Dream Reward Dollar is worth $1 when redeeming for Disney products and offerings."

Not sure that this has anything to do with a resort offer, as it specifically says from Disney Store and DisneyStore.com, but I've never gotten an email like this before! Makes me hope :thumbsup2

I got that too and I'm dying to know what it is and when they will tell us, but I doubt it's anything to do with WDW Resorts. We can hope though!

Yeah, it's probably a special edition water globe or something :rotfl:
