You're right. The last arrival date on the 12/20/10 expiring offer was 9/29/11.

I think that Disney's new physical year starts in October (if I remember correctly).

You're right. Disney's fiscal year currently runs roughly from October 1 to September 30. It's not a calendar year fiscal year.

Yes, I was referring to Disney's Q4 (July - September). Free Dining was already offered for August 19th - September 29th travel time last year. I was responding to a poster before me. Sorry for the confusion.

Disney's Q1 (October - December) is a whole other ballgame.

I logged in to check on my reservation and my dining ressies for my august trip I do this often and before logging in it said no account will be able to be created on April 21st due to system upgrade could it be a new offer in the works? or just an upgrade? It might be nothing but just thought i'd share for those of you that don't go on often

That sounds like a system upgrade. I don't think they shut or lock the system down (at least not for any noticable length of time) for new offers.

I don't know why I still keep checking for Free Dining. We're going to New York City for a week so no money for Disney this year.

It was a nice thought I want to goto Hoboken to Carlos bakery then goto new york and shop on Canal St and more!! Thats in the plans dont know for when though!

My family LOVES Buddy! We dvr both his shows and watch them when my DD14 has a rare night off of poms and/or dance. Hoboken style, baby!

Anyhoo, I broke down and booked a trip for the end of October without fd (or any discount) so that I can make my ADRs tomorrow. I mentioned a few times to the awesome CM helping me that my trip would drastically change and maybe even get canceled without free dining. I asked if he knew any secret info and he said that there has been some talk about free dining for this time. I know that "some talk" could mean anything including the cms just talking about it at lunch, but he seemed fairly.....confident that I would not be canceling my package, just adding the free dining. And yes, I know he works on commission and wanted me to book then and there and not wait until the discounts actually come out.

Just an FYI, you can book ADRs without having a resort reservation.

Yes, you can. But you won't get the 180 + 10. And you'll have to pay in full any meal that requires prepayment, even if you plan to have the dining plan when you would eventually book.

The CM's work on commission??? I didn't know that. If thats true it explains why I was disconnected from a CM when I said I was just calling to see what my pkg would cost. I called back and a really nice CM talked me into booking with FD for aug. If they are on commisson first CM missed out! I hope she didn't hang up on me on purpose!

I booked at POP. It fits our budget (with some discount help, hopefully) right now and my kids really enjoyed it last year. POR looks beautiful and the moderate I would pick. I am really excited, too, and have been frantically finalizing my ADRs today. I forgot to factor in that the Packers play the Vikings on Oct. 23rd and that we lose most of that afternoon to football, which is ok because my family loves the Packers, but I had to rework my entire schedule for the whole trip. My family thinks I am nuts!! Good luck on getting what you want!

Totally understand the football thing....my son plays midget football so going in the fall is a chore anyway. But I do it because it truly is our favorite time of year. My hubby is a season ticket holder for the Temple Owls (college football) and we are HUGE Philadelphia Eagles fans. When we went in 2009, we all wore our Eagles gear on Sunday....it made us feel connected at least.

I will think of you while we're in EPCOT that day. Or perhaps you can ditch your husband in the hotel room and join me and mine? lol Just kidding....like I said.....totally understand.

I've heard great things about the POP, but I'll tell you we truly love POR. The rooms are clean, the food court is awesome and there are quiet pools placed throughout the resort so you literaly walk out your door and...BAM...a pool (my children are part fish and this is just yet another reason we want to go back to POR).

I am crossing my fingers for free dining because although I've budgeted for food, I don't budget for the dining plan. It's kinda complicated the way I do it, but we don't really eat all that much; two adult chicken finger meals will hold all of us from 11am to 7pm....I know, we're weird. But we do like to try the restaurants, so I've made the ressies with an-ti-ci----pation. (Sorry if you guys don't get the reference....I'm just in a happy, happy mood this morning).

Hello everyone! I have been also waiting to see if free dining would be coming out this year for a trip that i am booking for my parents. Well, i goggled "Disney free dining 2011" and found a post from a twitter account from Touring Plans and the tweet went like this "Touring Plans: Disney reviews its quarterly numbers May 10. Word is a tasty discount will be out before then. ^len" I found this info on disneydetectives.com

Well i don't know what the means to all of you but i sure am hoping for something!!! Thankfully i book my FD trip last year for Aug 2011! Pixie Dust to you all!!!!

I don't think I posted this already...but I received yet another PIN for the summer for Free Dining. If there still sending out Free Dining offers for the summertime, you KNOW they'll have it in the fall!

Please Disney, put out the FD offers for the 4th quarter by May 24th, that way I can solidify my dates BEFORE I have to book airfare.

I also received another FD for the summer. In my opinion...........we will see FD for the fall. I just hope it is for the dates that I want.
