Can this incentive be applied toward an already booked cruise? We have a cruise booked for Dec. 26, 2009. Can we use the value of the "free" cruise toward the payment of the December cruise? Is there an assigned value, or do you just get a room - like a Cat. 12 stateroom and that is that? Anyone know the specifics of the offer?

No, you cannot do that. You could cancel your existing booking and take the freebie instead, but you'd be subject to the cancellation provisions and whatever other fallout exists. Honestly I don't have the list of dates in front of me so the voyage you mentioned may not even be eligible.

It's not a situation where the cruise voucher has an assigned value and you can use it however you wish. There are very specific terms and conditions.

The free cruise is for up to 4 individuals in a CAT 8 room (ocean view.) You can pay to add more individuals and/or to upgrade the room class. But you cannot pay to extend the cruise (can't go from 3 night to 4 night, etc.) Also if you do not have 4 people sailing with you or you decide to take a shorter cruise, you do not get any credits or other compensation.

The cruise voucher does cover the cast member gratuities.

Sorry, they say you can't use it for a previously booked cruise. I'm pretty sure the date you had booked isn't one that is available with the incentive anyway.

Actually, with the new incentive the cash off per point may be a better deal. (It would have been for us--then we could have just boooked whichever cruise we wanted without all the restrictions.)

It's a cat 9 you get with the incentive.

If the free cruise fits into ones plans seamlessly (and granted that's a big "if"), it's a fantastic deal.

We took the cruise with our 100-pt add-on. The alternative would have been an extra $600 off.

A couple months ago we took our first 3-night cruise. We booked an interior stateroom and used the recent "kids sail free" promotion. Even with the cheap room class (Cat 12), incentive and the slow travel season, including gratuities it cost us over $1200 out of pocket.

I went to the Disney Cruise website and priced a 3-night cruise for November '10 in Cat 9 stateroom. The price is $1955 without ground transportation or insurance. Then add another $150 for gratuities. So I figure we're getting as much as $2100 in value from this cruise incentive or $21 per point purchased. :thumbsup2

I think the cruise is a good value too. I just took DH's word that this new incentive may have been better for us. We bought 250 pts. at BLT. We also HAD to upgrade to a Cat 4 because we have 5 people. So it depends on the circumstances as to which offer is better.

I'm certainly not dissatisfied though! I'm thrilled to be going on our first Disney cruise! We had been planning to go anyway and would have most likely traveled in the timeframe offered with the incentive.
