Just had to share with my Dis friends, got up early this morning and was on the phone with Disney at 6:59am and GOT the Wishes Celebration Cruise for my DS's 11th bday night. The CM was so nice and at first told me that we would have to meet the boat at the Contemporary (We are eating dinner at WCC at WL) but then was able to change it to WL marina. In Dec, Wishes are at 8pm so we have to be at the marina to check in at 7pm and leave at 7:30pm for tour of 7 sea lagoon. I'm planning to call WL private dining to get special cake and chocolate covered strawberries plus milk, hot tea and coffee for the boat. Needless to say, I was doing the happy dance this morning quitely since it is a surprise.

This sounds great!! I like the idea of the cake, strawberries and drinks for the boat! I can't wait to hear about the cruise after your return.

I called the in house dining at WL yesterday and unfortunately they no longer offer the strawberries or cookies. I was given 2 choices for cakes:

1. 8" non personalized cake choc/choc or yellow w/buttercream $21

2. 10" cake that could be personalized with 3 cakes choices (choc, yellow or marble), 4 fillings (milk choc mousse, white choc mouse, strawberry cream or buttercream) and 4 frosting (choc, buttercream, choc ganache, or whipped cream). $45

Both are delivered to the boat with plates, silverware, napkins, etc. They also deliver the cake in box which remains on the boat so we can take remaining cake back to room. Something to put in Nemo.

We will be doing the 10" cake, I think yellow cake, milk choc mouse with choc ganache or choc frosting. I'll let you know when I order it.

We can also order anything on the room service menu. Since we are eating at WCC before the cruise, we will just be having the cake with coffee, tea and milk. The cruise comes with soda, water and small bags of chips.

Sorry to hear about the strawberries and cookies, but the cake and the items provided by the cruise will be more than enough food.

I can't wait to see pictures of the cake after your trip to Disney.

It states that they are not required so I am hoping they will be able to give them some of the stuff before we go. DS is in 6th grade this year so he will have alot to make up when we get back if we can't get some early. We did ask him prior to booking if he had a problem with making up a weeks worth of work and he said no that he would rather be in Disney for his birthday then go during vacation time. We have "meet the teacher" night today so I plan to speak with each of their teachers to see what we can do. I know that 2 of DD's classmates are both going to WDW for a week in October so we will see if teacher gives them work early.

What kind of soveniers does everybody purchase from Disney? My DD was really into the pressed pennies last time. For our upcoming trip, I stocked up on pennies and quarters.

One of the families that is in both DS's and DD's classes left yesterday for WDW and the 6th grade teachers refused to give any work early. The 2nd grade teacher gave them some of the work. We will have to see what Nov. brings.

We did the pressed pennies and the kidcot in Epcot last time. This time they are looking forward to pin trading.

In addition, the manager said that it came down from his boss that fridge swapping through luggage services was going to be disallowed in the very near future.

Theirs went missing after LS picked up fridge in the swappers room and did not leave a claim ticket. Same issue we had recently. POP did give them a small one to use but have not found their original one.

PLEASE if you have a swap upcoming let me know if the swap is in person or if Nemo will have to go to LS. If we can not get a claim ticket, maybe we should take a photo with camera or phone to prove we gave it to them. I believe most of the upcoming swaps are in person but we have at least 3 times end of Oct-begining of Nov that Nemo will have to be in LS for a day or two.

We were like "We'll get these lanyards that have 2, and get 5 each" and by the end of the week, we were dieing to buy more because we wanted to keep all of ours!

I thought that was supposed to be a package pick-up area. The lady I asked about it said that and I said "like packages from the parks?" and she said yes. But, who knows.

Agreed. It's like, get some fridges in the rooms. But, I guess, why would they when they can make $10/day off of them?
