FREE at Disney!

Obviously you have to pay admission to Epcot, but I think the Kidcot stations is one of the best freebie souvenirs around!

I second watching the fireworks in MK from one of the resorts. We watched Fantasy In the Sky from the Poly beach one night. It was practically deserted and was really special. I bet Wishes would be even cooler!

You can get a Tinkerbell postmark on the postcards you are mailing home at the Wonderful World of Memories. Of course, you have to buy the postcard and pay for the postage.....but the fancy postmark is free.

They also give out Mickey Mouse stickers at Downtown Disney, plus the cool coasters underneath the glasses in your room are also neat.

Not "free" in that you have to pay to get in to Epcot, but there are the free photo emails you can send home from Future World. :)

and, sometimes, if you get some goodies (like birthday cake and balloons) from guest services in your resort you don't have to pay.

And the monorail! yay!!

And the memories: PRICELESS

We have never done this but it was listed in another thread arouund here somewhere. ~ Ladybug release at WL and Poly. This program takes place at the Polynesian Resort every Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. and also at 10:00 a.m. at the Wilderness Lodge. Each guest is given a matchbox containing some ladybugs. You then release the ladybugs onto the nearby plants. WDW has been able to reduce the amount of bug sprays by almost 70% with this program. I believe this is for anyone not just guest from those resorts. (I may be wrong) ~KPmom

I don't know if anyone said this, but you can walk up to any cart or counter service anytime and get a free cup of ICE. It might not sound like much, but when your hot and thirsty it works to refill your water bottle. It worked everytime for me @ Disney and US/IOA.

We never miss Downtown Disney! Of course, the shops at the Marketplace ain't exactly free, but we love just walking around, especially in the evenings. Also, Pleasure Island in the early evening is free, and can be fun.

I thought they had changed the hours of PI to opening at 7PM and that's when you need a ticket to enter. Has that changed again?

Don't forget the mini theater inside Exposition Hall at MK. They show cartoons all day. There are also some nifty photo set ups in there too. Oh, and don't forget to check out the free Millionaire game that's on the computer screens.

Don't be afraid to walk into the back of the Hall because it's pretty cool. I didn't know the stuff was back there until our last trip. I was waiting to do the pin talk with Scoop and found all the neat stuff inside the Hall. Maggie

You can take the friendship launch from the boardwalk or swan/dolphin and ride to MGM, then to Epcot and back to the point of origin and that's free.

I usually do that on my very last day before I go to the airport.

In the Tiki Room when Iago blows up you can get free red feathers.

If you find a paint brush on Tom Sawyer's Island you get a free front of the line pass to Splash Mountain.

These are free and lots of kid fun once inside Magic Kingdom: My sons woke up Tinkerbell in her shop by the castle. They received a certificate for their hard work. Then, they have also decorated the Christmas tree at the Christmas store in Liberty Square. For that they received a certificate, their name was on the tree (for several days!!), and we received a Mickey ornament with their names on it!!!

The WL offers tours of the resort that are complimentary as well, and they have the opportunity to the Flag Family, which is so wonderfully magical. The views are spectacular, and it is so moving to raise the flag and say the Pledge of Allegiance. We have done with twice. The first time we received a complimentary breakfast, which I believe has ended. The second time we received a certificate and WL frame (heavy cardboard; great for frig).

I believe all the WDW hotels do not charge guests for self-parking. When we visit the Boardwallk, we park at the Boardwalk hotel and we are never charged to park. When we go hotel hopping, we are never charged for self-parking. We are only required to show our driver's license, or other ID.
ADP :D

When we were at Disney last December they were offing a free preview of PI from 7:00 pm until 9:00pm (maybe 8:00). It was long enough to see one show and either the Comedy Wharehouse or the Adventurers Club (Maybe both if you rush). Don's know if it is all the time or just slow seasons.

That's one of those "little" pet peeves of mine.......people who "pool hop". If they don't check IDs at the pools, I'd really like to see 'em start.
I've never stayed at a Value Resort, but I do know that they all have their own pools. I have stayed at Moderate resorts and found their pools to be really nice. BUT, when someone else is paying a 1/3 (or even a 1/4) of what I'm paying a night for a room, it's just not right for them to have almost EVERY ammenity I have. The last thing I want to see is "free passes" for some 20,000 plus "value" and "moderate" rooms at my pool at the Polynesian. ONE of the benefits of paying the extra (much higher) cost, is having a nicer pool.

OK, I'm climbing down off my high-horse now.............

the only time I was asked to show hotel ID was on my first trip and I was at the Yaught Club pool. When I stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in August of '02, I didn't have to show an ID to go in the pool. I think it depends on the pool and the season, because if the pools are getting full, it's more important to keep people who aren't supposed to use the pool out so the ones paying to stay at the resort and use the pool can enjoy it.
