Alesia, I am sorry about your dilemma.
Tomorrow we are going to Great Falls to the state fair. It's a big deal around here....we are cattle people, after all.I missed the horse racing, though. It ended last weekend.
We'll go over, eat some junky fair food, and see what the 4H and FFA kids have done with their cattle. DH misses the kids doing 4H so much that he is thinking about taking a cow/calf pair over, to show himself, next year. He should have been a cowboy in the 1800's, I swear! This stuff is in his blood and he cannot get away from it! If I had been his wife in the 1800's, I probably would have died in child birth, though.
What can I say, I am just not farming stock.

How cute! And I completely understand what you mean. There were years that one of the boys started out with a steer that was so wild, he jumped over the hood of our truck and right over the 5' fence. I looked at DH and said "I am getting the rifle". I was furious ~ to sell an animal to a kid that was that wild! My boys were real troopers to break those darn critters all those years. They couldn't wait to get out of 4H!Alesia- sounds like something I'd want to stay out of as well. There's very little parenting advice I would be giving to others (because I have children myself
mtblujeans- my boys did a pee-wee calf show their 1st year of 4H. It was absolutely adorable, and I'm grateful to this day they never wanted to show cows again.I do think it's a kick that your DH wants to go out there. More power to him

When my youngest boy was little, he was terrified of the hog barn. He thought the sounds coming out of there sounded like a mess of demons trying to come up out of hell....I am not kidding. When he got to be a teenager, I would tease him about it sometimes when we were at the fair grounds....and he still didn't think it was funny!I wanted to take Carly to the 4H fair this year. The poor girl has never seen a pig. She is under the impression that they are only slightly bigger than our cat.
OMG I am such a terrible mom....

Our state fair is in a couple of weeks and we are planning to go and take the kids. Last year we missed it because we were saving every penny for WDW. We love going to see all the exhibits, animals and competitions. Every year I look at the baked goods, etc. and say "I'm entering next year. I can do sooo much better."

I just thought I would stop in and say hi.
I had to go to a wake last night for a guy I work with. He was 63 and past away from cancer.
He was fun. I used to have a blast with him. He worked at my company for 40 years. He work area was close to one of my desks so I spent a lot of time with him. Plus DH worked with him for 20 years. So it was sad but at least he is no longer suffering.
That must have been really hard on you. I have worked there part-time for over two years and really don't mind the work most of the time. Recently they laid off a bunch of full timers that have worked there over 20 years!
Well...Saturday they put ME in charge of duties that those full timers used to have. I did not feel comfortable doing it and was obviously not getting paid to do those things. I made a few mistakes and the boss was taking notes and questioning how I was doing things! 
It was a huge headache and involved tons of math and calculations and, to say the least, I am soooo not mathematically inclined. I really don't even feel like it's fair that they asked me to do it and will most likely tell the main boss when I see him this week that I did not apprecaite being put on the spot like that and they will have to find somebody else to do it next time. The main reason I keep this job is because I don't have responsibility. I like listening to my i-pod and zoning out in la-la land. After work I had to have me some rum!
Then, yesterday we went to my folks house while DH did carpentry work for them and me and the kids hung out. Not too bad a day but I would have liked just being home even better. When are you leaving for your trip? We'll sure miss you.

We had a really busy weekend, as usual. Friday evening we went to the in-laws to use the pool and have supper. Then Saturday, I had the crappiest day EVER at work.

Are you all settled in the new house? How is Nat doing at the new house?
Nat is doing good. She has already made a new friend and they have played together everyday since we moved in. That was a big load off my shoulders. We are doing good. The house is almost all the way unpacked and other than having the repair guy out today to fix the fridge all is well. Well I hope the next couple weeks go by quick for you. I thought I would also tell you that Nat bought a pink bracelet in your name the other day. She said this is for your friend on the Disboards mom I know that pink is very important for all of us girls. She wears it proud.
Usually a lurker, but I try to keep up with all that's going on. 
For you Kellie...My BIL died suddenly 2 weeks ago, not in anyway expected....it has thrown the whole family in a spin, but some people have said that at least he didn't suffer...it's a fact that can't be denied. So I understand when you say at least he's not suffering.... The first thing she did was throw her dirty clothes on the floor! I hollered at her for messing up her "new room" and she said "Well, the carpet's not new..."

Hey Everyone! Sounds like there was a lot going on for all of us this weekend.
I had expected to check in throughout the weekend, but redecorating my DD room was much more time consuming than I thought! WHEW...I was still hanging the drapes and the mirrors at 9:00 last night...But nonetheless it's done! I didn't get a pic of her face when she saw it, but I will never forget her face anyway! It was priceless! She danced around and hugged me over and over and kissed me over and over and spun me around in circles!
I'll try to snap a picture tomorrow before she messes it up!
But on the "Baby" thing...don't worry about it. When people
