We got our dog on Saturday from the animal shelter. SO may I introduce you all to MAX!!

Awww- how cute! My kids are really starting to put the pressure on about getting a dog. Unfortunately I am allergic to dog (& cat) dander that limits our choices. We're in the middle of finishing our basement so the newest kick is an aquarium for that space. No dander, but you can't cuddle a fish! 8 year olds... they never give up!

He's a 7 month old German Shepherd Mix and so sweet!! We are crate training him ( never done this before so its new to us as well!). He already keeps an eye on my DD as if he is keeping a watchful eye for her safety! Gotta love that!

Max is adorable! I am certain he is very happy to be "home"!

I went to the DDS this morning and got a root canal completed. He had ALOT of trouble with it and I am terribly sore tonight. My whole head seems to hurt. I think I will go pack my face with ice and hope for the best.

Which ones?

Welcome home!

UGH- DDS- my tooth that had the root canal AND the cap STILL hurts! I have a feeling this will never go away. I was reading up about this online and some people say that even getting the tooth extracted might not help! It could be a nerve and not the tooth! I am afraid to mess around with it. :sad2:

I get to go to the DDS on Friday and have 2 wisdom teeth extracted while I'm AWAKE  :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Who wants to swap place with me :confused3

I had a partially impacted wisdom tooth removed while awake! He had to saw it in half b/c it was growing on it's side! I only remember hearing the saw and I was getting SO tired of keeping my mouth open:headache:

The DDS seems to be a reoccurring nightmare around here! I'm not gonna drink the same water as ya'll are! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

bnf2-DH is allergic to cats and my DD LOVES kitties so it was especially hard to tell her we couldn't have one-we actually took in a stray cat for about three months (my poor DH) but it attacked the ferret so it had to go to the animal shelter! (No Toodles, that is not a squirrel! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

After reading the last page or so of posts, I'm thankful my teeth aren't hurting.:rotfl2: Not that there aren't other things hurting of course. The older you get the more aches and pains.:sad2: For whoever was asking about yoga(can't remember who:confused3 ), I recommend the dvd by Living Arts called "Yoga conditioning for Weight Loss". It's really just basic yoga and it shows you several different modifications depending on your level of ability. I haven't been doing it for a while but need to get back into it because it does make me feel better.:hippie: I think my sprained ankle may be healed.:yay: I treadmilled yesterday but took it kind of easy and only ran a couple of miles. NO PAIN!!!!:cool1:

bnf2-yes, as a matter of fact, I am a Kentucky Freap! I can't remember us talking about Ky recently though.:confused3 Am I losing my mind?:dance3:

madd-if you stop posting freebies and pics, I'm gonna be mad at you! Obviously, the demand for JD is high so you have to feed our addiction.

mtblu-sounds like you had a great time at the fair. I'm glad we get to go this year.

We signed up DS7 for football this year....his 1st year being able to play and he is sooooo excited! Mom is a little anxious - you know, her baby getting hurt and all that. Well, last night was day 1 and HOLY COW :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I never expected them to do the drills they did and I really didn't expect 2 hour practices 5 days a week!!! I think the poor kids exercised more today that he has ALL summer!!! Seriously, I think it's good for him & he LOVED it but I was standing there like this    for 1/2 the practice! Looks like I'm doomed to a career as a traveling jock mom

On another note.....there is a magazine called "All You" that alot of people pick up at Walmart (I have a subscription thanks to a DISer) ~ I think it's under $2 an issue ~ and this month there is a page of about 5 or 6 coupons for FREE Kraft items WYB 3 Kraft items. The items were Wheat Thins, a 12 oz package of sliced cheese, oscar meyer hot dogs (up to $4.51), crystal light (I got the larger size for $0.50), and new 16 oz. Kraft dressing.

Hi everyone! I haven't been active on the boards lately.. I've been doing "ChaCha" in my free time.. but with all that's going on with THAT now, I think I'm done! :) I'm needing a Disney fix.. our APs ran out and we haven't renewed them, too expensive right now. :(

I'm wondering what DD is going to be interested in. She likes watching football on TV, so I wonder if she'll be one of those girls wanting to play wiht the guys! :headache:

I am glad your DS likes football though-it does seem to be great exercise for them although i hope he doesn't have to practice in the heat of the day! Good luck with it all!

Thanks for the tip on the free coupons, I may have to pick this one up.

Hi everyone! I haven't been active on the boards lately.. I've been doing "ChaCha" in my free time.. but with all that's going on with THAT now, I think I'm done! :) I'm needing a Disney fix.. our APs ran out and we haven't renewed them, too expensive right now. :(

Welcome to our corner of the world! I have lurked on the Cha Cha board but I never signed up so I don't know the latest. Are they giving ya'll the run around or something?

I know what you mean about the expense thing. I had to cancel our trip planned for November because of expenses otherwise.

Cha Cha decided yesterday that they're cutting our pay in half, unless we do at least 300 searches per week and also meet their accuracy guidelines - problem is, we have to take their word on accuracy - we don't get to see what they deem a mistake. The whole thing is making a lot of people mad, and there's talk of a boycott starting Friday night. :confused3

:lmao: What IS Cha Cha!?

I am laughing b/c I call people and things Cha Cha (example my SIL- who wears dangling earrings and rhinestone glasses) or I say "those shoes are cha cha!" I guess it is MY word for say, bling!:rotfl2:

I hate it when good things change like that! ExpoTv was like that for a while. They still do things that P@$s people off but its still worth it in the long run. Good luck!

Pointing to someone- "ugh- Helloooooo.... Cha Cha!" or "Look at her!- she's all Cha Cha!" or the ever-famous- "What is UP with the Cha Cha shoes?!" :lmao:

Just a few Madd phrases:rotfl2:

ARG! Where do you keep coming up with these cute smilies that I feel compelled to steal!??? :rolleyes1

I should try yoga. I keep hearing such good things about it. I have never heard anyone say they don't like it, it didn't do anything for them, or they got hurt practicing it.

Ok, here is the story on the DDS....popcorn:: gather 'round children:

I had been having terrible pain in a lower tooth and I finally decided I needed to get a root canal because I didn't want to pull or replace it. Around here, they send you to a "specialist" to do root canals....I don't know why....but, of course, it costs more! But, I digress....

I went in to do the root canal (and it is through a gold crown, too) and he can't find the final canal. He digs around in there for a long time and he just can't find it so he gives up and I have to make another appointment. My jaw hurt REALLY bad after the numbing wore off and he had told me he had done enough of a root canal that the pain should have subsided. It kept getting worse and I finally went in and saw my regular dentist.

He took an x-ray and didn't see anything. He questioned me that I could have allergies or a sinus infection and I didn't have any of those symptoms. He finally asked me if I had ever had any problems or pain from keeping my mouth open for long periods of time during dental work. Now, I have had ALOT of dental work done and I had never had anything like this. My left ear was even hurting!!

He told me he had had a patient that had muscle problems holding her mouth open for long periods of time and she didn't tell him about it. He said she ended up going to physical therapy after one of his appointments! WHAT!!??? He said the muscles in the jaw and face can get inflamed and you need to take anti-inflammatories and ice it to get the pain under control.

He gave me a prescription for antibiotics, just in case there was an infection in there, and told me to lay down with an ice pack on that side of my face. I was in so much pain by then that I was sleeping on an ice pack. But, over a period of 3 days with almost constant ice on my face, the pain was subsiding.

So, now, I go back to finish this root canal yesterday and I have my mouth open for almost 2 hours! Here we go again! I swear the guy must use needles the size of bamboo canes to numb my mouth! Then, he puts a dam over the tooth and he must have dug the base of it beneath the gums. Yes, I love dentistry! :headache:

I should have slept with an ice pack on my jaw last night but I wanted to see if the pain would subside on its own. Nope. I even tried drinking, last time, as a muscle relaxer and, trust me, it doesn't relax those muscles. :confused3

So, today will be ice pack day all day long. Just when you think you have heard or seen it all, something else comes along. I really hate that about life. I want whatever I learned in my 20's to be it! I knew it all in my 20's and I want it to stay that way. :rotfl:

 That is horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

I feel sooo bad for you! It's too bad the drinking didn't work! That's a much more fun pain reliever! :drinking1

I have always marveled at high school football players and how their Moms are not out there on the field with the coach, wringing their hands during each game! On the other hand, I have seen some graceful, fantastic plays in high school football games....where I turned to my DH and yelled "DID YOU SEE THAT PLAY?" :rotfl: So, there are alot of proud Moms on football team benches, too. So, go forth, traveling jock mom, and have fun watching your DS grow into an athlete and probably get scholarships to a really good college and have all the girls swoon when he walks by!

I'll have to pick up that magazine this week. I'd better hurry or they will all be gone when people realize those coupons are in there. :thumbsup2

Yep, I wonder if it would have helped to start drinking earlier in the day? :scratchin

But, now, I got to share my experience and the wisdom of ice, ice, ice with all of you!

He finally asked me if I had ever had any problems or pain from keeping my mouth open for long periods of time during dental work. Now, I have had ALOT of dental work done and I had never had anything like this. My left ear was even hurting!!

Do you have TMJ??

I have a slight case of TMJ- but when I had my root canal and crown done- it did not flare up.

A few years ago was the first time I went to my dentist for the pain in my jaw- I swear to you- I went b/c I thought it was broken- THAT is how bad it hurt!- When I would try and open my mouth- the pain was horrible.

She did an x-ray and did not see anything wrong. But she told me I probably had TMJ and asked me if I clench my jaw- :lmao: :rotfl2: ahhh- the poor thing does not know me very well- I live life clenching my jaws!:lmao: I paid freaking 300 bucks for a mouthpiece to stop me from clenching when I sleep- and I never use the darn thing!

I am OK most of the time- it seems like if I eat a really chewy, yummy, NY style bagel or go on my Bubble Yum binges(:rotfl2: ) it will flare up.

My boss has TMJ so bad that her jaw locks up- and sometimes when she is talking, you can hear her jaw- POP! She has had it really bad for years- she uses heat on it.

mtblu-sorry for all your tooth problems. Until giving birth, I was firmly convinced that NOTHING in life could hurt worse than a toothache.:lmao: I'm still convinced that there isn't that much difference. At least in childbirth, you know it will eventually end!:rotfl2:

Jennifer823-Sorry about the ChaCha crap. I tried doing it last year after reading about it here and found it to be a total PITA and not worth the time at all. I worked for several months trying to make money for our WDW trip and I think by the time we went I had maybe $40 total. WooHoo!! I think with the amount of time I put into it, it was a total rip-off. I don't know if things changed at all but I won't ever go back. At the time, it seemed like every other search I got was a teenaged boy wanting to talk dirty to me.:confused3 The average 13 year old vocabulary didn't do a lot to turn me on either!:rotfl2:

IAHD-good luck being a football mom.:cheer2: I think just the practices alone would drive me nuts.:scared1: We are signing both of our hoodlums up for soccer this week. DD played last year(using the word "played" very loosely here:lmao: ) and this year they can play on the same team. They are in the 3-6 year old range, so those little kids are so cute. Last year DD would just hang out talking while play went on around her. Then she'd run as fast as she could while looking straight up at the sky.:rotfl: In this league they just have 1 or 2 games a week and very few practices so it's not too bad.

Yes, he asked me if I clench my jaw. I am like you...yes, I clench my jaw during the day, during the night, all the time. I actually try to fall asleep with my mouth open in the hopes that my jaw will not clench up after I fall asleep.

He checked me for TMJ and I guess I don't have that. After he checked me, he didn't say anything else about it. :confused3

Actually, now that I think about it, this muscle thing could be the best justification to get a regular massage without having to get into too much discussion with DH about the cost! Hmmm...

Yes, Marna, I think I was the same way. Childbirth did end up being the top of the line for me. I remember distinctly wanting to climb out of my body at some given point! And why I did it again and again is beyond human explanation.
