...We went to the DRs today and they said that since the fever is gone and I have not had one for 3 days then we may be getting ready to turn the corner on this mess. I will still have the visting the nurse everyday and I will see the Dr once a week. So hopefully this will start getting better. But they said it will be a while.....

...I also received my menopause handheld fan. It took me forever to figure out what the heck it was- for a second I thought it was one of those quill dude freebies, and I was wondering when the heck did I order THAT b/c my DS11 was holding it and trying to put in the batteries... I finally calmed down enough to read the packaging to see the smiling woman and the word menopause on the package...

Speaking of the quill dude freebies, did you guys see what they have now? It looks kind of scary.

Ok, now I have to head over there and check this out!

....I am so PO'd- this morning on Howard- Mel Karmazan (CEO of Sirius) was talking about the merger and the changes- and guess what!?

...............I was on the stinking phone the whole time with HP customer service!!!!!!!!!!! ....

Sorry you had a bad morning! Sometimes those special words are needed to vent completely!!

I am so PO'd- this morning on Howard- Mel Karmazan (CEO of Sirius) was talking about the merger and the changes- and guess what!?

...............I was on the stinking phone the whole time with HP customer service!!!!!!!!!!! That is a whole other story that ended in me screaming F you to the 3rd! idiot I s/w there (believe me- a total of 30 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone being placed on hold 100 times warrants an F you! )

My husband alway gets the useless customer service people. I have good luck, though. Fortunately, neither one of us has needed to call customer service in years. We bought an emachines about 5 years ago and it has been the best computer we've ever had (and the cheapest.)

I dropped my daughter off for her first solo plane ride yesterday! She has gone off to Boston to explore and check out Harvard! She is only 14, but has wanted to go to school there for years...she is starting high school in a couple of weeks and is determined to start planning her future now....She's such a good egg!

So as a treat for her, I am redecorating her room as a surprise! I picked up a beautiful comforter yesterday and quite a few accessories and today I'm gonna get to clearing out and painting. I love doing stuff like this so it's as much for me as it is for her! She has lived in a gorgeous lavender and white wonderland for long enough, so today it becomes aqua and chocolate brown!

Where is DD staying in Boston? DD goes to school not far from Harvard. She did get accepted to Harvard but was offered much more money at the school she choose. She said she may go for law school still. Not so sure yet. DD says it is all about the money

Actually, I'm glad I wasn't there. One of the people involved is a friend of mine and was clearly in the wrong. I so don't want to end up in the middle of this.

Trust me on this: if you ever think about taking a job that lets you bring your kids with you, do not do it. I don't care how convenient it sounds, it isn't worth it unless your kids are perfect.

I don't have all the details, but basically:

My friend's son has extreme difficulty with sharing. And listening. When he takes toys from other kids, her solution is to take the toy away from them both, which is totally unfair to the other kid. This has been going on for a while and it is really bugging all of us. Anyway, another girl had finally had all that she could take and told her what she thought about it.

I really hope my friend doesn't ask for my opinion on this. I have a hard enough time with not being honest as it is. If someone asks me a direct question, the truth just falls out of my mouth and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

Hadleysun, what a great idea for your DD! Make sure you take a picture of her face when she sees her new room....you're gonna want to remember that look!

Alesia, I am sorry about your dilemma.

Tomorrow we are going to Great Falls to the state fair. It's a big deal around here....we are cattle people, after all. I missed the horse racing, though. It ended last weekend. We'll go over, eat some junky fair food, and see what the 4H and FFA kids have done with their cattle. DH misses the kids doing 4H so much that he is thinking about taking a cow/calf pair over, to show himself, next year. He should have been a cowboy in the 1800's, I swear! This stuff is in his blood and he cannot get away from it! If I had been his wife in the 1800's, I probably would have died in child birth, though. What can I say, I am just not farming stock.

Alesia- sounds like something I'd want to stay out of as well. There's very little parenting advice I would be giving to others (because I have children myself ), but I don't understand giving a consequence where your kid isn't learning something from it.
mtblujeans- my boys did a pee-wee calf show their 1st year of 4H. It was absolutely adorable, and I'm grateful to this day they never wanted to show cows again. I do think it's a kick that your DH wants to go out there. More power to him .
