My People magazine arrived today: Jessica Alba took her baby home on June 7...has anyone seen any photos of the baby girl? :confused3

Good morning all.....hope everyone had a good weekend!

We picked 11 pounds of strawberries on Saturday  but I ended up coming home & mowing the lawn, trimming the edges, etc. and ended up with a sunburn :headache: Yes, mommy did not put on sunscreen :confused3 I told DH he only could eat what he picked :duck: (he didn't come) Then Fathers day I worked all day, ran and picked up pizza and brought the kiddos to my grandmothers to have dinnner with her & my dad.

Madd...hope things went better than expected this AM.:faint:

MTblue...There are a few celebrities that have had babies recently that are not buying into the "selling" my baby pictures so I'm not sure when we'll see Jessica's baby. Halle Berry is another one who hasnt had pictures released of her baby.

Is there are rain cloud over my head?

This morning after I drove DD to school for her finals, my car started clunking. Then....(insert spooky sounds) dum.. dum... dum....it DIED on the highway during rush hour. I get towed, and my wonderful mechanic tells me it is a water pump, and the timing belt!! :scared1: Car won't be done until tomorrow, he is going to rush it, but can't be sure. DD needs a ride home this morning @ 10, but she has school again tomorrow. No car, no money (after I pay the mechanic) yikes!! But the sun is shining and school is done tomorrow, so life isn't all bad, I think.

I had a dream about JD that night! I don't want to talk about it any further... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Don't fear the DDS appointment in the morning, Madd, the worst part is over for you. ;)

oooo! They are the best dreams to have and you wake up and think- MAN! Did that really happen!

Oh no! Just don't say the phrase- "what next?" that always scares me, like you are putting it out there in the universe to possibly happen! Positive thoughts- positive thoughts!pixiedust:

Yesterday my nephew (he will be 21 next month) was using my car b/c DH was working on his truck. He came over and painted the bottom of DHs boat since DH was helping him out with his truck.

WELL! Get into the car this morning to go to the dentist with my Type O CD in hand all psyched to crank it up and cruise! Hello!???? My nephew listens to that crappy thumping music AND HE BLEW OUT ALL OF MY RIGHT SIDE SPEAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: I was furious! My car is my sanctuary! I love to just get in crank up my music and drive! All I heard was vibrations coming out of the right side of my car!!!!!

:scared1: I was in withdrawal not being able to listen to my Type O the way it should be listened to:rotfl2: I know I crank up my music, but I have NEVER blew out my speakers! He did the same thing with my SILs car! DH is furious!

I am calling him at work (he gets in at 1) and giving it to him! He has no respect for other people's things! DH said it was all HIS fault b/c he knew something like that would happen and he let him use my car anyway. So now on top of everything else to pay for- I have to buy new speakers! I will DIE without music in my car! (I would wither and die w/o music anywhere for that matter) I want to tell my nephew he is paying me back but not sure how happy DH would be with me about that. As furious as he is, he is the kind of person that does not get mad at the person, he gets mad at the situation- ME? on the other hand- I will not only call him, but, everytime I see him, I will remind him of how rude that was! And I will be sure everyone in the family knows it too- I am known as the ummmmm........^%TCH of the family:lmao:

So- I made out good at the dentist- he only numbed me a bit b/c my gums may get irritated. The filling was a breeze, but the grinding down of the tooth just took a while. My gums did feel sore after a while b/c they had to shove the thread in them before they took the impression.

So now, 2000.00 later, I have my root canal, I have a temp crown, and everything is peachy. I have to go back in about 3 weeks for the perm crown. ...and yay- I have to pay off the 2 grand w/in 12 months. DON'T THEY KNOW I NEED NEW SPEAKERS!?:rotfl:

We're back from camping! What did I miss?:confused3 We had a great time. It was stinking hot when we first got there, so after setting up our tent we jumped in the swimming hole. It was one of those good old-fashioned kind of spots like you see in movies complete with diving rock and a rope swing. We has so much fun. We camped with several other families so the kids entertained each other while the adults consumed large quantities of adult beverages.:hippie: We hiked some on Saturday and it rained on us the rest of the day but we still had fun. It's nice to be home though because the weather is now incredible. It's about 70ish and sunny and beautiful.:cloud9:

Welcome home!!!!:yay:

Did you wrestle any bears??

OMG- there is a band they play on my station and they are called "I Wrestled a Bear Once" How ODD is that:rotfl2: Well the song they play is even more odd- :rotfl: It is called "Tastes Like Kevin Bacon":lmao: :rotfl: Maybe they wrote the song from the bear's point of view:lmao:

Sorry- my mind goes in some really weird directions sometimes:laughing:

I just wanted to share this pic with my freaps- I am SO proud of my little niece, she is 6 and does Karate. She is SO into it, you can just tell by this face! I want to sqoooooosh her everytime I see her. I can tell she really likes it b/c believe me, I saw her play soccer:rolleyes1 I was suprised she did not just walk off the field she looked so bored with it, but Karate- she is on of the loudest kid in the class- some of the parents were cracking up at her YELLS while doing her forms!:rotfl2:

She even broke a little board- her teacher broke 4 layers of concrete and after class she whispered to me....can I take a piece of the brick that he broke? The kids all love the teacher (they probably think he is a super hero:rotfl: )

This my pumpkin head.......who, I hope one day, will be a black belt!:cool1:

Look at the intensity!:lmao:

Oh she is so cute, I just want to poke her with a stick.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, she does look like she is getting into it. That is so cute. I love those curls and color of her hair. Need to find that in a bottle.

ME TOO!!!

MADD she is adorable...

Today was the last day of school.....so the kids are officially on Summer Vacation :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Anyway, with the last day of school, comes the final report card of the year. DS7 did great - grades are all meets or exceeds expectations. Comments are all positive. DD6 grade wise did great but the comment her teacher wrote made me cry....literally. She said "her self esteem is very low and she does not demonstrate confidence in her abilities."

We (her father & I) have made a consious effort to not compare the 2 kids because you really can't. They are totally different people with extremely different attitudes, personalities, likes, dislikes. Plus I came from a large family where you were always compared to one another and I HATED that! We compliment both kids when they do something - great job, awesome picture, way to go, etc. But this comment has really struck a cord and made me sad. It makes me feel like I have failed her somehow and I don't know what to do with it/about it.

I know I have to/want to speak to my husband about it away from her ears and fully intend to but I needed to get it off my chest as I sit here at work with tears in my eyes.

Her hair is crazy! I love it. She is a little red-headed wench in waiting! You know the last 2 times we were in Disney she did not want to see the Capt Jack Tutorial- I KNOW she would get picked for the show- this time- she is SO there!:thumbsup2

awwww- don't be sad:hug: I will tell you why.....I remember my teachers always telling my parents and even writing the comment on my report card that I was "painfully shy" It was true- I would never talk to anyone. Back then it was called shy- now it is low self esteem :rolleyes1 But after some therapy (don't worry! NOT b/c of the shy comments:rotfl2: ) I realized why I was so shy- and it makes so much sense. My brother was one that constantly needed attention- he was very bad. No matter what he did, my parents would have to react. I just ended up taking a back seat b/c they were alway so busy with him- so I just kept quiet. I felt they had enough to deal with. I had some friends in school- but I was not one to put myself out there.

Not saying this is your DDs problem, but maybe you can talk to her. This is how I feel- I think some kids are just so outgoing and loud, not in a bad way, just some kids are not shy at all, and they overpower the kids who are more shy. The kids who are shy tend to sit back and let the more outgoing kids take over a situation. I think the darn teachers need to bring them out of their shells and help them along a little! Listen to me, giving parenting advice and talking about teachers:faint:

But! You will be glad to know- that you now can not shut me up and I talk to anyone:rotfl2: I am still lacking in confidence, but whatever it is I am doing- I always end up doing it well- I just need to see the end result and hear the positive comments and that makes me have more confidence;)

I agree with Madd.

It may be that your DD is shy in school. It may be she is so confident in herself she doesn't NEED to show off. It may be she just isn't ready to be outspoken (like Madd is now ;) ).

Go ahead and make sure she know she is appreciated for who she IS, not who others want her to be. That is what matters most.

Awww, IAHD:hug: I feel bad for you today. It's so hard to hear something negative(even if we just perceive it as such) about our kids. I'm not sure why the teacher waited until the end of the year if she thought it was important.:confused3 I have suffered from low self-esteem my whole life, but, unlike Madd, I haven't ever been shy!:rotfl2: I always have been very outgoing I think to make up for the esteem issue. If I were you, I'd just pay a little more attention this summer. I'm sure you will notice if there is a real problem you need to worry about. Tell her we all think she is one of the cutest CHEAPS around.:cutie:

Oh Sally, take a deep breath. I agree with Madd and everyone else, your little bean will be ok...

My dd doesn't get out until thursday and ds has next week off. I don't know how I am going to run after the kids in the freakin' boot!!!

I HATE IT. HATE IT!

I tried to finish my planting...hard to garden with a five pound club attached to your foot. I HATE this thing!

Did I mention that I hate it...

Thanks for listening

Tell her we all think she is one of the cutest CHEAPS around.:cutie:

You know, when I watch my niece interact with other kids- I wish I was like that when I was young! She is the first one to raise her hand, she will just go up to kids and start talking.......is it weird to be jealous of a 6 year old?....:rotfl2: I see her brother who is 2 years younger and he kind of hides in her shadow. I think b/c she is so :yay: he takes aback seat. I think I notice those things b/c I have been there.

Another thing my SIL does, she tells my niece all the time that she is beautiful, not that no one else does that, of course any parent would! But my niece will go around and tell everyone how beautiful she is:lmao: My SIL tells her that her vitamins and carrots make her beautiful. I could not imagine myself ever saying that about myself when I was young, not even now! :rotfl: Kid's personalities are all so different and who the heck knows why!?

She is so cute. I also love those curls. Is this the one you are goig to Disney with?

Sally I send you hugs.
But I do think everyone is right is is most likely she is very shy. Has the teacher ever said anything about this before? If not why did she wait to the end of the school year. Some kids are fine at home and out side of school but when they get in a classroom they become very shy and kinda stay in the shadows.

She is so cute. I also love those curls. Is this the one you are goig to Disney with?

Yup! That's the little one! This will be trip #4 for her. DH and I were the first ones to take her (just us 3) just before her 4th b-day. I have been with her on all of her trips:cool1:

I am turning her into a Disney freak. My SIL yelled at me b/c now she keeps talking about a Disney cruise. She also said to her mom- she thinks she should take a trip to Disney every December:rotfl2:

Every trip she has been on has been in December (or right after Thanksgiving). She is not going to know how to act in the heat:eek: and she might be looking for the Oborne lights and xmas decorations too!

WLD...I hope the car and the finances work out real soon!

We're back from camping! What did I miss?:confused3 We had a great time....
 Glad you're back safe! It does sound wonderful to swing on a rope this time of year! If there were bears, did you get any pictures?? ;)

Sally, you don't do ANYTHING about it! You ignore the comments and you give your baby lots of hugs and kisses all summer long! Sheessh!! She is so young...how the $%^& are you supposed to instill "self esteem and confidence" in a child that young!!??? You make them feel secure in your love and respect for them and you let them bloom at their own rate!!

Honestly!! If she was "self confident and high energy", they would want you to take her to the doctor and put her on meds!!! :headache:

This just burns me! DO NOT beat yourself up over an inconsiderate word! This too shall pass....and don't give it another thought!!!
