AWM, you just cracked my DS11 up! (and he is on his way to bed...):lmao:

I'm waiting for the computer to figure out he's really not Landu so I can turn off the Star Trek episode and make the boys go to bed.

Thanks for the bedtime smilie story Auntie Ann...

Yes, we kept her name...Since she can't see, it's really the only way to get her attention.

She is a sweetheart and has blended right in with the rest of the critters.

Part of me feels like I am cheating on Violet, (ok gonna cry now) but this little one was listed under the "special needs" category and they really never thought that they would find her a permenant home. So I want to think that I am somehow honouring my little Violet, by taking in Lacy.

Haven't taken any pics yet, but will tomorrow - since I have to start a scrapbook for her too:goodvibes

Oh Tink, I'm crying now. It's just so sweet that something so special could come out of your loss. I'm so glad for all of you. And you really are honoring Violet; I know she would want you to have another pug close by to care for and love. :flower3:

Hope Madd didn't mind. ;)

Great job on the story!!!!!:worship:

Rhonda you did a great thing and I am sure Violet would be very thankful that you did it!

and

Ugh! Happy Monday everyone!:guilty:

It is a very rainy, VERY windy, dreary day here in NJ. There are branches falling all over the place- I am always so afraid the wind will blow down a tree on top of our house! We are surrounded by them!:scared:

.

Madd-sounds like you're getting the crappy weather we had yesterday.:sad2: It rained like crazy and the wind blew everything all over the place. The ggod thing was that I had an excuse to be lazy and not do anything on Mother's Day.:thumbsup2 I got to lay in bed yesterday morning drinking coffee and reading Bon Apetit which was a real treat for me. Then DH and the kids fixed me sourdough waffles and sausage. DH got the kids lunch and down for their naps and we had some "together" time-KWIM?:rotfl2: I drank a glass of wine and relaxed in front of Food TV and the travel Channel a while. I did help with supper because DH was grilling outside in the pouring rain so I did the inside stuff. We had Jamaican jerk tenderloin with grilled pineapple and vidalia onions. I also made some foccaccia and some sweet potatoe fries and used the rest of the pineapple for Pina Coladas. It was a very tasty supper. Then I got to take a loooong bath with the window open a little to hear the rain-listened to some jazz and read my new Saveur magazine. All in all a great day!!!!

TB-congrats on the new dog. You are such a nice person to take in a needy pup.

Sorry about the bad weather Madd. We had it yesterday. Woke up to no power. My big Mother's Day breakfast was a granola bar. :lmao:

Rhonda, I think Violet will very happy that you are giving a wonderful home to a pug in need.

Thanks for the kind words everyone...

Lacy is so sweet. I haven't even heard her bark yet and we've had her for 4 days. She snuffles around and loves to snuggle.

Madd - it is windy here too, kinda spooky.

Ppmom - Gotta love the Pina Coladas

Anybody get their concoction makers yet...

Marna- it sounds like you had a terrific day!

......And dinner sounds AWESOME! I just bought a few pork tenderloins @ the Acme- BOGO!!!! The whole thing sounds really good- I will be going by the grocery store tomorrow, I think I will pick up some pineapple and have DH do everything on the grill. NOT sure what I will have- but it sounds like something he would love!
:cool1:

Hey, if you like spicy food, the Walker's Wood brand of Jamaican jerk seasoning is so good. Just marinate with a lot of lime juice for an hour or so(It is insanely hot though, so just use about a teaspoon). I honestly think that tofu would be tasty in the same marinade and then grilled(not as tasty as pork loin of course:lmao: ).

You stinker! You got yours!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Let me know how well it works.

Target has their drink syrups 3 for $6.49 packaged or $2.59 each seperate. We got Strawberry, Lemon Lime & Grape combo. IF it works well, Root beer is next. :thumbsup2

I SHOULD try the tofu! When we get chinese, they make an awesome Grandfather's Tofu!!! Even DH dips into mine!! I will look for it in the store tomorrow.

DH is a sweatheart- he even has one spot set aside on the grill for me that is a "meat free zone':rotfl2: (I do not let my food even touch anything that has touched meat!popcorn:: )

Yesterday @ SILs house- my niece said she had some portabellas for the grill- I just looked at her and politely said- no thanks- and she caught on- they are getting used to my meat rules .............after 13 years:rolleyes1 But I am polite about it- I usually just say, no thanks and leave it at that.

:rotfl2: I had a friend who used to bring her own pots & pans to cook her food at - to her MOTHER'S HOUSE! Can't believe ones own mother wouldn't save a pot and a pan for their child and her family.

I never had the nerve to ask her, so I'll ask you. ;) If an item was used once for meat, does that mean you'll never ever use it? Even if the person steam cleaned/sanatized it? (It's a feature on my dishwasher.)

OH DEAR GOD! :scared1: That is carrying the veggie thing WAY too far!......Are you supposed to throw your pots and pans away after you cook in them!? :confused3

DH eats meat- that would get a tad bit costly for us. But no, I think that is just ridiculous!:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Disposable tinware works really good for that. ;)

Heck- even that stuff is expensive!

As long as my stuff has been washed I am OK- however, no one can use a knife to cut say, pepperoni and then use it for the cheese. They all know that already:rotfl2:

I know things happen when I go out that I have no control over and there is nothing I can do about it- if I do not see it that is.

I also have a fear of soup:rolleyes1 I never believe anyone when I go out and ask them if their soup is vegetarian- I want to be sure no beef or chicken stock was used- even if they say- no- I don't believe them.....

OK- OK- I HAVE stopped asking them:rotfl2: I just choose the salad!:lmao: Unless I am at a place that I can trust is all veggie.

Being a vegetarian is a lot of work! I used to be one years ago..for 9 years. I shunned everything meat oriented, fur of course, and leather. I used to read labels on everything premade..you would be surprised how many cookies and crackers are made with lard or animal fat...I also had to cook for my carnivorus DH, talk about love! And then there are the endless questions every time you sit down to eat. Are you getting enough protein..do you know about amino acids/complete proteins? Do you eat fish? (that cracks me up... ) I know what you go through madd, it ain't easy...part of the reason I fell off the wagon.
