Waiting for the DH to bring home ice. We have cistern water and I won't make cubes with that in the automatic icemaker and I'm way too lazy to make them by hand with bottled water. That and there is no room in my freezer to lay trays down. Shove a bag in, yes. Trays, no.

Yes, we kept her name...Since she can't see, it's really the only way to get her attention.

She is a sweetheart and has blended right in with the rest of the critters.

Part of me feels like I am cheating on Violet, (ok gonna cry now) but this little one was listed under the "special needs" category and they really never thought that they would find her a permenant home. So I want to think that I am somehow honouring my little Violet, by taking in Lacy.

Haven't taken any pics yet, but will tomorrow - since I have to start a scrapbook for her too

Hello Where is my drink?

Being a vegetarian is a lot of work! I used to be one years ago..for 9 years. I shunned everything meat oriented, fur of course, and leather. I used to read labels on everything premade..you would be surprised how many cookies and crackers are made with lard or animal fat...I also had to cook for my carnivorus DH, talk about love! And then there are the endless questions every time you sit down to eat. Are you getting enough protein..do you know about amino acids/complete proteins? Do you eat fish? (that cracks me up... ) I know what you go through madd, it ain't easy...part of the reason I fell off the wagon.

I know what you mean about a lot of work- it seems like 2nd nature now- I think nothing of it. It is just what I am. I cannot ever seeing me going back-

I alway tell DH- you are lucky I am a veggie- my whole closet would be filled with all kinds of leather Harley gear! cha-ching! Right now it is filled with just tee shirts

I think I may crash and burn early tonight. John is a little cranky with me for not talking to the DR today. I think I may have broken ribs. They told me that due to the amount and the area they are doing the radition this could happen.He has now decided he needs to send them an email and keep them update due to the fact he say I am so stubborn
I meet with them every Tuesday so I did not want to take them away from someone who needs them.

And if you are hurtin' real bad and you didn't talk to the DR, I give John my permission to be more than a little ticked off at you. Hello, you are a patient of the doctor's too. Just because you are going to see them tomorrow does not mean you can't call them today.

Ok Frozen Concoction maker get a big

I am happily sitting on the couch with a Pina Colada (for medicinal purposes of course - my feet hurt )

AWM - Hubby home with the ice yet? It is big isn't it. It doesn't fit under the kitchen cabinets, thats my only beef with it. Appliances aren't usually allowed to live on the counter tops in the kitchen (only the expresso machine - it has a place of honour...) but I had a spot all picked out for it. It may have to live on the island - we'll see

Kellie, Kellie, Kellie........I can see John being worried- but I think I kinda see your point....if there is nothing they can do......why the rush telling them you may have broken your ribs. I guess I would do the same thing you are doing- I would think if I am going to see them tomorrow why call today.

It's okay to agree with her.

But I see John's side too. He just wants what's best for her. And if they know ahead of time that she might have broken ribs, they may have a test scheduled for her on her normal day. Otherwise, she may have to go back after she tells them tomorrow while she is there.

Gosh Kellie, how do you not breath in?

Rhonda, mine has to stay on the counter too. Doesn't fit in my cabinets either. But it is okay, it's next to the deep fryer that has to stay out too.
I would think that a Margaritaville blender would be right at home on an island.


We made slushies tonight. The ice consitency is wonderful. Need to get some soda to mix with the syrup though. Water didn't work so well. My sister was mad. What a cryin' shame to not make a real margarita in it.

Gonna have to go with a 50/50 on this one pending more information. I understand what your saying about they cannot do anything IF it's broken ribs but with everything going on you wanna make sure it's NOT your lungs or/and that if it is a broken rib(s) that it is not in danger of causing lung issues or a cracked rib poking something it shouldn't be. So as another person who sees the "yeah, I'm going in 24 hours I'll deal with it then" type person myself, I see your side BUT I gotta say with your plate full sometimes you don't think of the little details as well and I think John may be looking big picture (and they worry a little bit more because they feel pretty helpless being left on the sidelines to watch and not be able to really DO anything). Here's praying for it to be nothing to be concerned about, but please take it easy - you may be Wonder Woman but the flesh doesn't always listen to your soul/mind.

Hi everybody! Been crazy at my house lately....obviously! I have been training for a part-part-time job.....DS came home from college and the first thing he did was "clean out" my refrigerator and freezer (throwing away frozen strawberry bars and a perfectly good roast, among other things) .....it has been raining since yesterday, but we really need it.....I am tired and cranky. Looks like you guys have been partying since I have been gone....

I never thought of it that way. I was going to tell them after my treatment but they where crazy and busy so I did not want to pull the DR from someone. But I will call them when they open to let them know. At most they will do an xray.

OK- I think I want to change my mind!

I would say- excuse me young man! Do you know the price of food is skyrocketing and you are throwing it away!!!?

Kids- they don't understand the value of 10 dollars (ha- it used to be a dollar- now in the recession we have to say 10! )

But speaking of recession-- I am scared to death about DHs job! (he is not though- I just worry about everything) He is a mechanic and no one is getting their cars fixed b/c they are not driving them!!! DH said they are very slow.

I saw last night on the nightly news how so many people are leaving their cars sit and they are taking public transportation!

I said to DH, if you loose your job- you can go and be a mechanic at the bus stations ..........or the scooter places since people are buying scooters for transportation also
