And in other good news, the Ky. House and Senate passed the budget last night that includes funding for DH's job. Now, the only possible obstacle would be a veto by the governor so let's keep those fingers crossed.

:dance3: Great news about the budget Marna! The power of possitive thinking in large groups can work wonders!:yay:

and OMG- that dog is beautiful!!!! Now his hair does not look as long as the sheepdog- but it looks thick, like it might get matted up close to the skin if you do not keep up on the brushing! Not sure if this IS the case- it just looks that way......:confused3

I've read that their hair doesn't mat up as much as you would think.:confused3 I think as long as we keep her brushed out she will do fine. The people who are giving her to us actually use theirs as farm animals and they are outdoor doggies and she said they don't have a problem at all. Ours will be an indoor/outdoor pup and will probably be spoiled rotten within a week.:lmao:

Just so you know, these are great dogs, but they do tend to wander. Like in very far. My postman had one and it once ended up FIVE miles from home. Apparently my postman had a gate problem in his fence. However, just because the breed is known for it, doesn't mean every one will do that. Some here has on the DIS has one that does it's business and then goes straight back to lay in front of the door.:confused3 Go figure.

Any chance that secretary would like to meet in Cincy to give me one?

VERY cute doggies! I'm in rescue.. one of our fosters have one. We've gotten 2 young ones into rescue in the past year. You see this breed more and more being put down at shelters:( Wonder why the secretary is breeding them if she has no papers, etc?

These dogs tend to have MAJOR hip issues and if you don't get a hip guarantee with the puppy you might get it checked out right away... although it might not show yet, it's a few thousand $ to get it fixed.

They do also wander as the above poster said.. and they shed like no other. Hope you don't mind white hair on... everything!

They ARE very loyal dogs, however, and dedicate themselves to their family. It's a shame they don't live to be very old:(

Hopefully the secretary will be a responsible breeder if she chooses to continue... so far not a great start:(

Best of luck with your new baby!

Ya'll need to get over to the CB. They are picking on me.:scared1:

Oh- that is SO sad!

You know, whenever I talk to someone about their pets- I try and STRESS to them- Pet Insurance.

I tell them to do it when their pets are young- b/c insurance does not cover "pre-existing" conditions!:sad2:

Whewee, I'm not getting into that one.

Madd, pet insurance is definitely the way to go. Wish we had it with our Husky. I know we will get it for the next pet.

OMG! I am SO for the "Eye for an Eye" thing!:thumbsup2

That would free up a lot of jail space (and taxpayers $$). :rolleyes1

But then again, so would legalizing weed- but that sure isn't gonna happen!

Sorry- went a bit OT there. Just passionate about some things! :thumbsup2

You go girl.
I am so with you on that

The 13 year old thread reminded me that when I was in 8th grade a girl went around telling everyone that I was a slut. It was sooooo untrue.

I hate to say it, but I thought it was hilarious that she got knocked up the next year. God, I love irony!

I can't stand it when someone posts an opinion looking (in some feeble attempt) for support and then gets all uppity when someone DOESN'T have that same opinion. It says to me that they were feeling anxious/guilty about something they have said/done and want everyone to tell them they did great just to alleviate their own doubts, but when that doesn't happen they inevitably get defensive! Me thinks thou doust protesteth too loudly! :rotfl2:

And the same type thread happens over and over again...just insert a new topic by some new poster looking for/needing reassurance! It's usually a good show though!:surfweb:... popcorn:: ....:stir: ... :badpc: ... :drinking1

I gotta wonder if some people are just jealous that no one ever wanted to touch them inappropriately in jr. high :rolleyes1

OMG I AM PEEING!:lmao:

I so want to say that- but you know those who were NOT felt-up would call me a SL%$ b/c I was felt up at the age of 13:lmao:

I was flat-chested in 8th grade, so no one was interested in feeling me up.

However, when I came back after the summer with a pair of 36Ds, there was a lot more interest :lmao: I had a boy offer me $10 bucks to touch them. I should have taken him up on it. It would have been the easiest $10 ever! :rotfl2:

I just think it is crazy b/c they all feel they need to save this girl. That she may end up as I said over there, a dreg of society.

I think some of those parents that are "protesting loudly" should check and see exactly what their own kids are up to behind their backs! I think they would be surprised.

:lmao: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Don't go over there and say that- you will be branded a prostitute!:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

So was I! :rotfl2:

They used to be small and perky, now they are just small and gravity & baby feeding has not been kind to them.
