THAT is exactly why DH and I never wanted kids!

No matter how sweet a child may be- the kids, like the one in the clip, are the ones we zero in on and just think :scared1: NO thank you!:sad2: :scared:

We love our nieces and nephews, but even when they act up- I like to
thsmile-backingout-1.gif

And my first thoughts are..."hello!? where is this child's parents"...

.....:lmao:

.

Luke only pulls that crap with people he can get away with it. John and I do not stand for that so he never does it with us. But My sister-in-laws family he does that crap with

Yay Kellie!!! That is great news.:yay: We had a somewhat positive update from DH's boss this morning. He called to let us know that funding is included for the state nurseries in the "proposed" budget. But now, in typical political fashion, you have all these yahoos threatening to not vote for it because their pet projects were slashed.:headache: If the morons can't agree on passing it, then it goes to the governor to make his own and he is definately going to make a whole lot more cuts. So..until this crap has passed we really can't celebrate just yet.:confused3 But we are more optimistic today than yesterday.:hippie:

We still haven't made a decision about the dog, but I think I need to find another source of info other than wikipedia. That is where I saw that Nana was an OES dog and that they get to be 200 pounds.:scared1: I'm pretty sure that number is way off. I think they grow to about 80 or so which is still a big dog. And all of those caretaking issues sound like a PITA. I'm too lazy for all that so DH will have to agree to do it all before I'll go along with the plan.:rotfl:

love the ad.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I think they just taped my youngest nephew on a good day:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I knew what ad/video you guys were talking about before even clicking on it

I WANT THE SWEETIES!!!!!

What an adorable child..if I saw that in a store I would have to sit on the floor from laughing so hard....:rotfl:

I am thinking you are right about the size, more like around 80-100 lbs. I have an AKC breeds book around here somewhere, but DS8 took it at some point, so there's no telling where it is. If I find it, I'll look it up. I hope I didn't knock the wind out of your sails about the messy life with a giant, long haired , drooling dog (I dont' know if OES have a dry mouth-they may), I just wanted to let you know how much work is involved. The drooling with us is a big part of the mess, so if these guys are dry..the hair would really be the issue.

I found a site with some information..It says they run from 60 (female)and can go over 100..so your guess at 80 is probably safe...

They are so cute!!

Marna- I will keep crossing my uncrossables until you and DH get the Final OK!:thumbsup2

I hate this government! But that is another story right?;)

You know- I love animals and they are all so darn cute when they are little, people can't resist them when they are small- some people do not thing of "the long haul"- my mother had a Shih Tzu and she would brush that little guy all the time! She took him to the groomer once a week for a bath and a blow dry.

Me personally?- I would skip the sheepdog- when I was smaller, our neighbor had a sheepdog- he would SHAVE the poor thing b/c he did not want to deal with the hair. My aunt does the same thing with her long-haired Collie!:scared1: I do not understand why anyone would want a "high maintenance" if they so not have the time to put into the dog. I always wonder when I see a shaved dog- do these people realize these dogs have this hair for a reason? They need it to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter- they are throwing the balance off!:rotfl2:

I would go for the Lab (wasn't that what you were thinking about?)

How about a kitty!?- Cats are COOL! :thumbsup2 You have to get one that will "speak" and have a great personality- Siamese are "talkers"

Just a thought!

OMG- totally OT but I am listening to Hoard Stern right now (West Coast feed) and Jeff Conaway is on- OMG- this dude is messed up big time on something right now!:scared1:

Marna I also will keep everything crossed.

On the cat we have a siamese and he is a talker. When we leave him all day he will follow us around and talk away like he is telling us what he did all day.:rotfl2: He does have issues he hates being left to long. When Shaunna goes back to school and goes on her bed and crys for 3 days.

I thought Jeff Conway had gone to rehab and got straightened up.:confused3 Guess that didn't last long.:rotfl2:

hrh-thanks for the link.:thumbsup2 Those are the cutest dogs ever but seem to be a lot of work. We are home all the time and have 37 acres so he/she would have plenty room to run and two kids to play with. The hair brushing would be the biggest drawback though, but, madd, they actually recommend shearing them in the spring if you don't plan to show them(not that showing a dog is high on my list of things to do in life:lmao: ) and then let the hair grow back in the fall. Some people use it to weave cloth out of.:rotfl: That's not too high on my list either.:rotfl2: Since Dh has been gone a lot lately, I have really been missing a dog. I feel safer with one around that would bark if anyone(or, more likely, a coon) comes onto the porch. A kitty just doesn't make a good watch dog.:confused3 We might get another cat one day but that is still a sore point with DH after the last ones we had tried to demolish our bird/frog/rabbit population and insisted on "sharing" their kills with us.

I saw a shaved sheepdog once, too. He looked embarrassed...really! and you are right, as much as I joke about shaving everyone in the house completely bald, hair on a dog has as much to do with keeping him warm and cool. I wish I would have thought about me, myself, and I being the only ones to take care of these dogs..although DH will brush our Newf once in awhile, everything else has fallen on my shoulders. If it were up to me we would have one small short haired dog and a cat..:confused3

Poor Jeff, I caught a glimpse of him on a reality show. He looked awful and he was definitely on SOMETHING!! Is Howard being funny/nice with him, or is he taking him down? Poor Bobby Wheeler...

ITA Marna- we want to keep all of our freaps (and wenches, you have 2 titles:thumbsup2 ) safe!

Yes- Howard was being nice to him. Contrary to poular belief, he is not the moster the media makes him out to be! I have been listening for over 20 years- I KNOW!;) They will pick out the dumbest things to pick on him for. Right now he is interviewing Billy Joel's wife, Katie. Howard and Beth are friends with Katie and Billy. Howard is also friends with Kelly Rippa- go figure.

And Marna- Jeff was on that Celebrity Rehab- I think he is going back- he sounds like he needs it again.

You guys are TOO funny!! I laughed when I saw the "sweetie" commercial. Sorry. I guess I feel comfortable doing that because I am "past child-bearing years". :rotfl: Out of my four kids, the one that gave me the most trouble still isn't speaking to me.....what can I say!? :confused3 I am the "bad child" in my family and no relative, especially shorter than me, can top me.

Linda, I finally called and made the colonoscopy appointment. My knee surgery fulfilled my deductible for this year so I am hoping insurance will pay it all. Like you, I thought they paid for that as a smart preventative measure. But maybe 'smart' isn't exactly the way to describe health insurance. May 30....If I get one before you, I can share some gory details if you like. But, I expect to be so stoned I won't remember a thing about it. :rotfl:

I think the secret handshake is a great idea.... :rotfl2:

And, what exactly IS Sally doing on a troll? Are there pictures!? :rolleyes1

A little advise the stuff you need to drink to not get the flaovered one it is gross. But put in the fridge for a few days. It goes down better cold.

I think the tag fairy is on a troll kick.:confused3

I just have to share this b/c *I* thought it was hilarious!

Once again- it is about Howard's show.

Not sure if anyone knows who is who on the show- but......anywho....

They were busting on Gary (what else is new) someone HAD to tell Howard that Gary had a long gray hair hanging out of his nose, anything to torture Gary.

Arties says very serious like....."It looks like you snorted a bunny" :coffee:

I SCREAMED OUT LOUD AND STARTED PEEING:lmao: :rotfl2:

You have XM now??

As soon as Howard announced that he was going to SIRIUS in Jan 06- I had my equipment all ready to go Dec 05!!!

DH and I were in Mexico for his very first broadcast on SIRIUS...what did I do??? I brought everything with me to Mexico!!!:lmao: Yes- I am a die-hard fan! I hung over the balcony to get reception!:rotfl2: It worked! I would bring my Sirius boombox with me on the beach and people would say- hey, isn't that the Sirius radio! It was pretty new to people back then.

Another thing I did when he annouced it- I went and bought 530 shares of SIRIUS stock. It was dirt cheap and still is. I am hoping they merge and the stock will go UP! I should get more shares now that it is way low!

The Dept. of Justice already approved the merger- they are now waiting for the FCC- Don't EVEN get me started with them!

I am never up right at 6am when he comes on, and I do not want to turn in the show right in the middle, god forbid I should miss anything!- so at 9am, on my laptop, I turn on the West Coast feed not to miss anything!:cool1:

we do have XM. I am like you I bring my XM boombox every where. We go to the beach with it and John listens to all the games.
I hope they do the merger fast.
I wanted Sirius but My Good Boss gave me two radios and two years worth of gift cards for XM for a gift.

Hey everyone, heads up on the houseparty for Aveeno...they're up and running...alot of peeps said they didn't receive the email, but logged in and got sent to their "set up party" page when they got there...

I guess I didn't get into this one either...no email and when I log on it doesn't take me to a set up page....on the bright side, maybe they don't think I'm old enough to need it yet! ;)
