Kellie, do you use soy products? I am hearing that soy foods feed cancer. Has anyone else heard anything like that?

My kitchen is **** & span(but I always have to keep it clean because that is my happy place ) but the rest of the house needs to be boarded up.

It's nice that you can balance each other out. I'm afraid if I had a craft room like you do, it would look like his office, only much more colorful!

Mine is awful for knocking things off, dropping things, moving things, whatever...and leaving it there...so at least yours made an attempt at getting it off the floor?

My "craft area" does look like his office. DH is ready to put a lit match to it!

DS went to a prom Saturday night. A friend 'borrowed" a tux, for him, from the band department of another school so, of course, he and his friends stop at Walgreens after the dance and buy left-over Easter candy and he gets chocolate all over the pants of the tux. sigh

I am taking a very expensive pair of pants to the dry cleaners in the morning and I hope they turn out ok or we will be buying a ruined pair of %&@# pants. I will never understand my guys and food....!

I have heard that. I did drink the soy milk and my Dr told me to stop. That is why I was asking to see if anyone heard this.

Soy is loaded with plant estrogens. My husband won't admit it, but it makes him really moody. I made him switch to half & half instead of nondairy creamer and the moodiness stopped. Plant estrogens are probably much worse for us than animal hormones. Soy is also a likely culprit for the early onset of puberty that is becoming more and more common.

Now the non-dairy creamer, that does not have soy in it- or does he use the Silk "half-half"???

I use the liquid- Coffee-Mate non fat all the time. I drink a lot of coffee and I do not want to use that much half and half. And I certainly cannot use regular milk in my coffee

Dang that stinks. I was just thinking about taking us all off cow's milk and going to soy or rice milk. Here I thought I was doing the healthy & responsible thing. Guess I better go re-think that. Guess I also better go research that Andrew Lessman's Secure meal replacement I just started using.

But- I am just curious if any of you females watch the Showtime series "The Tudors" O-M-G!!! I am hooked!

beCAUSE! The dude who plays Henry VIII (JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS) and the one who plays his friend (well, I am on episode 5- and he is not longer a friend!) Charles Brandon (HENRY CAVILL) are just........HOT! Now if I saw these guys BEFORE the series- I would not think twice about them- but put them on the show and YOWZA

I am usually so not into guys that look like that- but add the Renaissance wardrobe and the accents and OMG

I have a friend, whose father had cancer, and his doctor told her that, too. Before her telling me, I had never heard anything about it.

Me too - I love Silk! But I stopped using it after I read someplace that it can affect your fertility I also thought I was being more healthy and was gearing more towards soy products.

As far as the Tudors, I miss watching it I got hooked on it but cancelled Showtime but I've seen the DVD's so now I might have to rent them. The main guy played Elvis and did a pretty good job.

Good morning FREAPS(well..not so good morning). In typical Monday fashion my day already bites. We are waiting on word that the politicians have passed a state budget. DH's job is in jeopardy and we are not happy around our house right now. Last week they included funding for the state tree nurseries but, this morning, it is gone. I honestly don't know what we'll do if they eliminate his job. Jobs in forestry are few and far between, especially when you get to be our age. The federal government won't even hire you for a fire position if you are over 35. I really don't want to be melodramatic, but it is not looking good. I'm too old to be homeless. Waaaaaaa.....

Ironic- b/c me and mom were just having a conversation about the government....which led to property taxes- Our township is reassesing our homes and right now were are 5000+ a year in property taxes! I cannot imagine them going higher! We only have a 1200 sq ft home on about a 1/2 of land.

I keep telling DH we need to get the heck out of NJ! If our taxes go too high- I think he might be thinking about it sooner that he thought!

I am still trying to get him to go to VA. No further.

We definatley have to stay on the East Coast. I prefer Northeast (I am a Yankee for goodness sakes!), but he is talking about further South. South is too hot! People there are too polite and move slow That will take too much time to get used to!

Quick story- a friend of ours' mother and father moved to VA, right on the border of North Carolina- his mom is major hyper! Well she said when they first moved- she went to the grocery store and was at the deli counter. She ordered cheese. She said the woman was so slow and she had to put that paper between EACH slice of cheese! My friend's mom's head almost exploded! I would have died!

Kellie- If you have ON DEMAND you can get all the episodes right there!

ON DEMAND is great- I save my DVR space. Right now DH and I use ON DEMAND for John Adams, The L Word and The Tudors.

We are trying to catch up with The L Word- we have all the past seasons in our Blockbuster queue, and catching upi slowly but still watch the new episodes.

We already went through all of Dexter LOVE Dexter!) and Californication.

We tried watching Weeds- however we wanted to see it from episode 1- but ON DEMAND is far beyond the first season. So we borrowed season one from one of his friends. I NEED the next season!
