I hate politicians.:headache: The governor we have that just took office is proving to be a dipsh**. And I voted for the so and so!!!! There was no word of any budget shortfalls before he took office but now it is all gloom and doom.:sad2: He is all about legalizing casino gambling and is trying to get that passed to "save" the state budget. Unfortunately for him, NO ONE else is going along with his plan. The word around is that he took huge campaign contributions from the casino industry and made promises he can't keep. So I'm sure a lot of the budgetary problems exist only on paper. But it really doesn't matter if the money is there or not, if they use it as an excuse to eliminate a bunch of jobs. We live in a very economically depressed area and our property taxes are VERY low compared to madd's. Unfortunately, we owe a lot more on our house than we would ever get if we tried to sell it.:sad2: There just isn't a market at all for our type of residence and farm.:sad2: Any forestry jobs in your area mtblujeans?

Kellie- If you have ON DEMAND you can get all the episodes right there!

ON DEMAND is great- I save my DVR space. Right now DH and I use ON DEMAND for John Adams, The L Word and The Tudors.

We are trying to catch up with The L Word- we have all the past seasons in our Blockbuster queue, and catching upi slowly but still watch the new episodes.

We already went through all of Dexter LOVE Dexter!) and Californication.

We tried watching Weeds- however we wanted to see it from episode 1- but ON DEMAND is far beyond the first season. So we borrowed season one from one of his friends. I NEED the next season!
smoke-1.gif

We have directv and I do not think they have on demand. We have two dvrs so it is okay. I will tape it on the one in the bedroom> JOhn hates when I use the high def one for what he calls stupid shows.

Good morning FREAPS(well..not so good morning). In typical Monday fashion my day already bites.:sad2: We are waiting on word that the politicians have passed a state budget. DH's job is in jeopardy and we are not happy around our house right now. Last week they included funding for the state tree nurseries but, this morning, it is gone.:confused3 I honestly don't know what we'll do if they eliminate his job. Jobs in forestry are few and far between, especially when you get to be our age. The federal government won't even hire you for a fire position if you are over 35.:sad1: I really don't want to be melodramatic, but it is not looking good. I'm too old to be homeless. Waaaaaaa.....

Oh Marna, I am so sorry. It really stinks when you are dependant on a state or federal budget for a job. While we know there is a lot of fluff and stuff in government, we also know the first ones to go are the ones that work (and make the others look bad :rotfl2: ) I hope things go well for you and your family. The economy is in bad shape all over the country, with any luck :rolleyes1 things will get better really soon.

Now all this soy talk is very interesting. Wasn't the buzz a few years back that soy would prevent breast cancer? I really tried to start drinking soy milk, but I pooted all the time :lmao: . :scared:
Wish I got Showtime. I got crazy and took all extras off my satellite and phone last year. I did keep the bundle that has Cartoon Network for the boys (and fx for me) but I have to wait for DVD releases to see all the 'good stuff'. I miss Weeds very much. I was hooked...:rotfl2: .

Do you have Blockbuster online??? You can get all the Weeds, Dexter, and I am sure The Tudors there!

Well Dexter is now on NBC (?) but there is NO way you can get the full effect of the show on NBC- being on regular TV does NOT do his potty-mouth sister any justice- you have to experience her on CABLE!:rotfl2: She is hilarious!

Like I said - our queue is FILLED with every past L Word episode. We were lucky that a friend of ours purchased the first season of Weeds and lent it to us. I keep telling DH to get the stinkin' 2nd season from him too!:lmao: If wait for our BB queue to be rid of The L Word dvds- we will be waiting forever!

I was thinking that I do not drink much Silk- but I do add it to my Instant Cream of Wheat all the time- and I love Morning Star "hot dogs" and Boca burgers- which has soy in them.

I forgot all about the other stuff I eat:headache: I can't stop though. It is too yummy!

:scratchin Hmmm....I don't know for sure but he should check and see if there is anything he can transfer to (if you have to) out this way....just in case something does happen and everybody is trying to transfer to stay in their field. I think the feds are always cutting back on the Forest Service funding. Although Sen. Baucus is real good about getting funding for big Glacier Park projects and any improvements they do in the Nat'l. Parks keeps the tourists coming. The State has a big nursery in Helena...is that what his job is now? :goodvibes

Yes, he is the Nursery Superintendent for the state tree nursery. Would we like Helena? I can't remember where it is.:confused3 Me likes mountains. Me no likes flat.:lmao: DH has tons of experience in management(both of people and trees), computers, fire suppression and aerial detection. Almost all of my experience is in fire suppression and law enforcement. We have always talked about moving west if anything ever happened. We just might get our chance this time.:sad2:

Now the non-dairy creamer, that does not have soy in it- or does he use the Silk "half-half"???

I use the liquid- Coffee-Mate non fat all the time. I drink a lot of coffee and I do not want to use that much half and half. And I certainly cannot use regular milk in my coffee:scared:

The main ingredient in non-dairy creamer is soybean oil. At least, it is in the powdered stuff. I'm not sure about the liquid.

Sorry to switch gears.......

But- I am just curious if any of you females watch the Showtime series "The Tudors" O-M-G!!! I am hooked!

beCAUSE! The dude who plays Henry VIII (JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS) and the one who plays his friend (well, I am on episode 5- and he is not longer a friend!) Charles Brandon (HENRY CAVILL) are just........HOT! Now if I saw these guys BEFORE the series- I would not think twice about them- but put them on the show and YOWZA:scared1:

I am usually so not into guys that look like that- but add the Renaissance wardrobe and the accents and OMG

I love the Tudors! We've been renting it from Netflix because we don't have cable.
The only thing I don't understand is why, since it is a series and there aren't really time constraints, there are so many inaccuracies. But whatever, its still really good.

ITA- But I think you find those kinds of inaccuracies in a lot of period shows/movies. Sometimes you have to scratch your head and say......"IIIII don't know about that!"

It seems like some of the language they use is not of that time period.....well, I think anyway. I will say to DH- was that word invented at that time:lmao:

Last night we were watching the episode when Charles has to take the King's sister to her new husband:scared: Not to give anything away- but while she was in that "compromising position" on the ship- did you happen to check out her shoes?? I got a quick glance at them and they looked like something you would see today!

I might have to go back and do a slow-mo of that scene- ............and NOT for what you think:rotfl2:

'Ya know, if the opportunity arises, Montana just might be the place for you! :thumbsup2 Helena is the state capitol and it is a clean little town with alot of history. Montana seems to be a match that is constantly being lit! sigh Not last summer, but some recent past summers have been smoke filled throughout the state as one fire after another spread wild.

I don't mean to offend anyone but, in Flathead County (where I am), most of the area is Forest Service land and environmentalists have fought so many of the lumber mills sales for so long now, the forests just aren't that healthy any more. We have beetle problems and trees that should be removed and reforestation should take place. That leaves those lands ripe for fires that spread for miles if lightening strikes during a dry summer month or a camper doesn't put a fire out after cooking.

I can't address the pay for industry-related jobs out this way, though. I think most people that work for the Forest Services usually do it because they love nature, not because they are being paid well (my personal opinion). I do know they have a state nursery in Helena because DH has ordered seedling trees from them in the past.

If there is any information I can get for you, please let me know. I am sure that, between DH and I, we could find whatever you might need. I hope everything works out for you that you aren't faced with the decision to move until and unless you really want to....not that you have been forced to do something you are not ready to. :goodvibes

Have you ever seen a painting of King Henry?? He is pale and red headed.....no Jonathan Rhys Meyers by any means! :rotfl:

Forgot to add- that I commend you for not have cable!:worship:

I WISH we can do that- but then again- what in the world would we do with ourselves if we did not have a cable remote to flip through 400 channels of crap on TV!:rotfl2:

That would be a good idea to get rid of cable, and just buy the BB online and rent everything you want to see. Heck- you can now rent TV shows!

hmmmm- I might have to bring that one up to DH- doubt he will go for it- but it is food for thought. Our freakin' cable bill (with internet) is almost 150.00 bucks a month!:scared1:

When we first started watching it- I said to DH....wait one minute! The pics I have seen of Henry VIII- I remember him being fat and yucky!

But that does not make for good TV- can you only imagine the "good" scenes with some fat ugly king- you would feel sorry for the poor girl- at least with Henry looking like he does in The Tudors, it is envy not sympathy you have for her :lmao:

I would prefer the half naked Jonathan that looks nothing like Henry VIII thank you very much!
