Is it sad that I want to bid We are avid Pats fans, this was DS6 1st Superbowl, and we are collecting sports memorabilia for him. Yes, I know, sad but true

Oh Kellie, , I just got on the thread now. I am so sorry to hear about the news. I am glad that your doctors aren't playing around and getting it taken care right away.

I would probably say the same thing to my DH and he wouldn't find it funny either under those circumstances.

We are here for you. Wish I could be there.

Good morning, everyone! Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected this morning!

Madd....have DH take a handkerchief or some tissues and cough into that on the plane, if he is still coughing by then. His antibiotics will protect him from whatever he might be exposed to while traveling. Do you have some Airborne you can take while traveling? It will be good for you guys to get away while coughs and colds are spreading in your area.

I woke up with a full-blown headcold this morning and the sore throat is subsiding so my sinuses must be draining something that was making my throat sore. I called to see if I should cancel the surgery because the surgery center told me I had to be "healthy" for the procedure. They said to go ahead and come in for the pre-op appointment this afternoon and they can decide whether to go ahead at that time. I want to get this over with. My leg really hurts! I surprised that what has been described as "a little tear" can hurt so bad!

We are supposed to have a snow storm today and another one this weekend. I'd say Mother Nature is making up for the mild winter we have had so far!

Kellie, hope you are doing OK this morning. Been thinking about you alot.

HRH - DH used to ALWAYS get strep throat when I was pregnant. He would say something like, "I have a bit of a tickle in my throat" and I would say "How long have you had this 'tickle'". "Oh 'bout a week or so" and so I would freak out send him to our Dr. and sure enough he would test positive for Strep and he would come home with 2 scripts, one for him and one for me...

He gets Strep and *barely* gets sick. Me - knocks me into last week and usually takes me a good 2.5 weeks to recover. Now every time he clears his throat I stare and him (he calls it the mommy look)

I went to pick it up, brought it in to DH and said this..."Oh, look...the Dr's office put a message on this ...they must have faxed it over to Walgreen's. It says, 'Dr. Mr B...Please don't be so stupid this time..' ".... ..

I just HAD to tell DH this one- that notes goes for most men!

His meds should start to kick in pretty soon...in the meantime...STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!! If he needs something, throw it to him from across the room. It would be ironic if you caught it now and he got better in time, and it ended up being YOU that is the sicky when it's time to board...



When do you leave?

We leave for the airport @ 3:15am this Saturday! ugh. Our flight is at 6am.

You know what is weird (I am knocking wood right now for protection) I never catch anything DH has I tell him it is weird- b/c HE caught it from someone (his whole shop is sick) but I never catch it.

This morning he woke up and said his side of the bed was damp from his fever breaking- I was getting up anyway- so I told him to move over to my side, he said I don't want to get you sick by sleeping on your side I just looked at him - I think maybe the fever is making him hallucinate!

He was coughing all over me all night, what's the difference

Suz- we have been taking vitamins all week. We have Airborne (hey what freap does not!?) that stuff is HORRIBLE- We are also taking Acidophilus
for our tummies for extra protection in case we get a bug in Mexico- it will also help DH b/c of the antibiotics he is taking.

Sorry to hear about your cold. I think we are all passing this thing around on the DisBoards somehow!! I cannot completely 100% shake mine, I still have sinus pressure headache, but no drainage or coughing. Maybe they will let you have your surgery as long as you do not have an infection or fever. I dunno, I'm no DR, what am I talking about??

Hope you don't get snowed in for your surgery, that would be bummer!! Our winter has been pretty mild, too. It has gone down to freezing a couple of nights, but most days I can run around with just a polar fleece jacket on. Of course, with the usual clothing underneath..

I haven't gotten a lot but stuff is still trickling in. Yesterday I got the Chick-fil-A calendar with coupons, day before was some shampoo packets and a product to test, so at least 1 freebie a day. It's usually feast or famine with the freebies.

Grouphug, grouphug, sounds like we all need one!

We are all pulling for you and sending lots of well wishes/pixie dust! Keep your chin up and try to stay positive. Things like this really put things in perspective about what is really important in ones life. The wash, shopping, DH leaving the toilet seat up, the jerk who cut you off in the parking lot, etc. are miniscule (sp?) in comparison to having a husband who is by your side in "sickness and health". You have 1 heck of a hubby there and you should be proud of him! (so should he). If you ever need anything, there are alot of us here who will do whatever we can for you and your family.

Thanks for all the love and support. The DR called and We will meet with the surgoen on Monday morning. I did talk to the surgeon and he said that things have come a long way in 15 years so I should have faith. He sounds like a nice guy. He talked to me like a human and not just some patiant. Now if he is hot I am good to go
