How is your DH feeling?- poor guy gets put on the back burner with all the "doggie drama"

Nope, no pet insurance. Every kept happening $1,200 - $1,500 at time. Only when we stepped back and added everything up did we realize how exactly how much it was (I kinda knew, just didn't want to think about it...)

DH is doing great. It is so weird, because I would have been a mess about this stuff (thyroid cancer... actually I was a mess - it just wasn't hapenning to me). But not him. He tells me the other day that someone asked him how he handled everything with the not knowing for months and his reply was "Handled what? Oh, that - didn't really think about it much". The night before the surgery, he was asleep before his head hit the pillow (as usual).

So, where has everybody been? It's been so quiet

Well - it sounds like your family is on the road to recovery- now Violet needs to follow all of you!

I have no idea where everyone- it is weird! Seems like we never recovered from the holidays!

He really seems to have turned the corner these last couple of days. He is perky, eating, drinking, hopping up onto the couch and starring at the cat that is sleeping in *his* spot. We no longer have to give him sub q fluids, or anti nausea shots.

This will now be known as the $7,000 costco chicken incident...

Unfortunately this good news is tempered by the fact that Violet (the pug) had an oral mass removed last week and it turns out that it is an aggresive form of melanoma...But we do have some promising information on a xenogenetic vaccine that has been very successful with this kind of cancer.

The saga continues.

On a lighter note, I am practicing telling the kids "Well, mommy and daddy were going to send you to college, but then Flint ate this $4.99 chicken from costco and..."

Glad to hear he is doing better!!! Looks like we'll need to be finding you some really GOOD freebies to help make up for those bills

Sorry I've been out of contact most of this week. Unfortunately DH has been home ALL WEEK sick and he cramps my style. I have to pretend to be productive more often.

I swear sometimes when DH is home my house ends up messier that if I'd had 10 kids in the house. Not only can I not get anything done, but I can't keep up with the cereal bowls, banana peels, coffee cup trail that seems to follow him

Hi guys! We made it back in one piece. DH caught a bad sinus-y cold along the way and was sick the last few days of the cruise and all this week. I have had a cold, too, but not as bad as his!

The weather, back home, was fairly warm for a January, so it made it alot easier to be gone and not worry so much about thinks....no storms or snow or power outages.

I have been trying to go thru my pictures so I can put together a trip report. Plus, I had to see a doctor about possible knee surgery in the near future....apparently I ripped something in my left knee sometime last summer and now the time has come to take care of it.

Gosh, Christmas and New Year's seems so far away now!

So, what has been going on with the rest of you??

We have a trip to Mexico planned- 2 more weeks! We are staying at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya for 7 days! I can't wait to just VEG!

We were thinking about maybe doing some things while we are there, ferry to Cozumel, shopping on 5th Avenue, maybe Xel Ha- but DH and I got to talking and we highly doubt the only time we would like to wear actual clothing (besides our bathing suits) is probably breakfast and dinner So the side trips might be out.

We are lucky b/c our hotel has the the largest coral reef on the Mayan Riviera, Mayan Ruins, huge "cenotes" (natural caves formed by subterranean water) and two natural wonders (NOT sure what they may be though! ), and five beaches- so we will have a lot to do just at the resort!

It is ultra modern and they make special mention of the architecture- however, I am not a modern kind of person- but, the hotel got good reviews so we decided to give it a try.

It is so hard getting back into the winter after that trip! sigh My advice to you guys is that you buy one of those colorful bathing suit cover-ups and go EVERYWHERE in your bathing suits! We traveled down the western side of Mexico/Baja. The cruise stopped oh-too-briefly at 3 locations. We have decided that next time we go to Mexico, we need to 1) go somewhere that has ruins and tours where someone can tell us the history of the area and 2) go to stay at a resort, in one place, for an extended period of time. Please give us a review of your location when you get back. I am soooo ready to go back to Mexico!

I stopped getting email notifications when they switched over to the new server a couple of weeks ago. I am not happy with that.

The emails stopped when they changed servers then they started up again now they have stopped again. I wish what evere they did here they could do to my email for work I seem to sit in front of the all day answering emails and not getting done what they keep emailing me that they need done
