I'm here...I'm here!!! I've been dropping in periodically to make sure that I didn't miss anything, but I honestly have been so overwhelmed with the holidays.... MIL has Alzheimers, FIL had surgery the Wed. before Xmas, family in town, "CHEAPS" out of school...etc.... same story as everyone else....glad for all the good news that seems to be flying around here though!!!! My little escape...THANKS.... wish I had been contributing more! BUT I'm coming back!!! And Maggi....I don't have any books to send you, but I certainly have a lot of advice! I'll try not to bore you all now, but I AM that hippie breast feeding mom in the mall that gets all the stares...and both of my children have genius IQ's!!! I kid you not! Going to relax with a glass of wine tonight, but I'll be around in the near future!!!! Good night!

Haha-- since im a "housewife" I am "the housekeeper". It's pretty unfortunate. LOL I may end up going to work just so I can get by with hiring a cleaning lady. My MIL would never let me get by with hiring one now. It is definitely a lot to clean. I'm dreading it. Maybe some freaps can pay me a visit and clean it for me..... now that sounds like a plan

Thank you!! Sure, I'll take some photos of the inside this week (probably tomorrow). I have some but not since the sheet rock and paint is up. We still lack the tile, baseboards (although most of the molding is up), stone on the fireplace, carpet, and stain for the hardwood. It wont be too much longer.... I hope anyway!!

OK- what is up with the DIS???

I made a post about 2 hours ago about Maggies books and it is not here!

I wanted everyone to know you can send books via "Media Mail" it is a cheaper rate.

I called my post office and they told me to just note "Media" on the package. Also if it is over 13oz- you will need to "hand" the package to either your carrier or to someone at the post office.

Am I crazy?- I know I posted this comment before and it is gone!?

THE DIS IS HORRIBLE LATELY! You can't even post freebies b/c it takes so long between posts!

Thanks Madd for posting that!! I forgot to mention Media mail. I've used it MANY times and its A LOT cheaper than regular mail. If you go to the post office to pay for postage- just tell them that you have books and want to sent them media mail!

I just got on after having taken a nap (ive been feeling really rough lately) and there were very few posts in the last 3 hours. The DIS must have had some problems-- I dont think you are halucenating, Madd. Although you might have started celebrating a little too early.... and that could be to blame...

It's been slow ever since they did an update/maintenace (I think 2 days ago) overnight. I posted a couple of freebies, but it was taking so long, I'll just keep them for another day..I thought it was just my PC, but other sites are not a problem..

Just wanted to share this with y'all. My computer is right next to the TV that has the boys' new Wii on it. They are playing a game right now called Rayman Raving Rabbids 2..It's a bunch of weird little short games, and I can watch them while Dissing..anyway the one they are playing now is set up where the two players (every character is a bizzaro looking rabbit) are on a balcony overlooking three other plain rabbits..with coffee cups. The players are up there and they eat carrots and then spit a lonnnnnng drool and try to get it into the coffee cups that are moving. Then the rabbits with the cups drink the coffee...OMG, this is the stupidest game I have ever seen..Except maybe for the one where they are wheeling a rabbit into the OR, and the anethesiologists (weird rabbits) take turns smacking the rabbit on the table with a big sausage. Every time they hit him, he gets more and more sleepy...then he passes out..the end..here's another one...they are all in a movie theater. Their cell phones keep going off. They get points for talking on their cell phones while the lights are off. If they are talking on the cell phone when the lights go on, they get a giant tub of popcorn dropped on them. This is kinda cute, because when I look over at my boys, they are holding the remote up to their ears like a phone, then when the lights go on, they put them down...

We are spending the night at BIL and SILs house. Got my pillows and blankey all packed!

the Dis was so slow, I bet you thought you submitted and it took so long, it didn't go through....I gave up ...now it's QUICK as a bunny!!

Just want to wish all my fellow freeps a happy and safe new year. DH and I are staying in. DH laughs because every night I am up till at least 1 and then sleep till 4 and off I go into my crazy day on 3 hours sleep. But on New Years I am out cold by 9o pm at the latest. I told him this is my night to catch up on all my sleep for the year.

We're staying home tonight. DH has been working double time at work, trying to get caught up and ready for our trip. I have been cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry until my hands are chapped trying to get ready for the trip! I wish this trip would hurry up and get here already!!

I thought I was the only one having trouble with the boards! Some of my posts have completely disappeared, too, and my computer is taking so long to post something....it is actually affecting my entire "internet experience"! DH mentioned how his email box was opening so slowly after I had been on the boards last night. It doesn't seem to help to restart my computer, either.

Are you going to make a stop at the other side of "The World"? DH and I went to DL back in 1985, and I went there when I was 2...I don't remember much from either trip, although I cringe about the one with DH. DL closed at 6:00 when we went, and I don't think we even went into the park until about noon...what kind of Disney commando was I back then??


About the boards, the other night, Saturday I think, I tried to sign on and it had a message from Alex that it would be down until 5:00 the next morning for maintenance. I wonder if that had anything to do with all the problems we were having yesterday?

We are leaving bright and early Thursday AM. We should get to Anaheim at about noon. I met a DISer on the VMK that will be there at the same time and we are trying to get together to meet for lunch or dinner. That should be fun! I went to high school in Pasadena so, in the 1970s, I spent ALOT of time at DL. I went there for Grad Night with my ex-husband! But, I have not been back since the mid-1970s. We are cruising the Mexican Riviera with 3 stops on land. Between getting to DL during the winter Holidays, meeting a DISer, and taking a cruise to a warm place in the dead of winter....I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!

AND, it is 21 degrees outside, 67 degrees inside, so I am wearing sweats! DH is such a lucky guy!

They changed over the boards to a newer, larger, and faster server. But, I have been having quite a bit of trouble since then. My posts disappear, I have trouble getting from screen to screen, and I am not getting my email notifications any more.
