FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

We are leaving bright and early Thursday AM. We should get to Anaheim at about noon. I met a DISer on the VMK that will be there at the same time and we are trying to get together to meet for lunch or dinner. That should be fun! I went to high school in Pasadena so, in the 1970s, I spent ALOT of time at DL. I went there for Grad Night with my ex-husband! But, I have not been back since the mid-1970s. We are cruising the Mexican Riviera with 3 stops on land. Between getting to DL during the winter Holidays, meeting a DISer, and taking a cruise to a warm place in the dead of winter....I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!! :rotfl2:

AND, it is 21 degrees outside, 67 degrees inside, so I am wearing sweats! DH is such a lucky guy! ;)

They changed over the boards to a newer, larger, and faster server. But, I have been having quite a bit of trouble since then. My posts disappear, I have trouble getting from screen to screen, and I am not getting my email notifications any more. :confused3

Susan- have a great trip- we will miss you!!!:dance3:

And Happy Anniversary NATALIEBELLESmom

Happy New Year FREAPS!!

Hope everyone had a great holiday season. I'm excited because it finally seems like winter. It was 11 degrees and snowing when I got up this morning.:cheer2: WooHoo!!!!! Freebies have slowed down a little lately but I did get a great one. Does anyone remember the "All About Beer" magazine freebie? Was it for a subscription or just one issue? That magazine is awesome. DH and I both loved it but I don't want to get a subscription if I have a free one already. Unlike other magazines I couldn't find the info on the mailing label.:confused3

I want snow!!!!!! We have gotten rain over the past few weeks b/c it has been warm- well, not WARM, but in the 40s/50s! It is supposed to be about 30 today and tomorrow- however, by the weekend- they are calling for 50 degrees!

Marna- have you checked out the beer website? I think the issue was just one free trial issue- but the website looks interesting!

mag, your house looks like a modern day princess dwelling. Can we see the inside? Please, please, please? :flower3:

I have some books somewhere I can dig up, but they are a good 10 years old. If you are interested, PM me your addy and I'll see what I can fit in a flat rate box.

AWM- I remembered to take photos yesterday when we went over. Keep in mind the house isnt finished yet. It's really hard to get full rooms in photos, and then tell what they are when there is no furniture in them to help-- but here goes!

The front (the door still has to be stained)

The kitchen (We first decided red then changed our mind because once its paired with cherry cabinets it wont look so great- -so the red will soon be the color of the rest of the house. Decisions, decisions..)

The livingroom (if you can see past all workers stuff)

And some other rooms that really dont look all that interesting without furniture in them- lol

Thanks to everyone who offered to look for the baby books. Thats so sweet of you!

Nataliebellesmom (Theresa)-- happy belated Anniversary!! Give the hubby a couple smooches for me!

Yes-I went to the site to see if I could find out if I had a subscription or not. I spent quite a while browsing there. I'm trying to talk DH into going to the World Beer Festival they sponsor in Raleigh, NC in April. Tickets are just like $35 and you get UNLIMITED samples!:drinking1 Of course we would have to drive 8 or so hours to get there but that's a mere technicality I told him.:lmao: I do think I will get him a subscription for Valentine's Day. For a serious beer drinker/homebrewer it would be great.

The Beer Festival sounds fun! 8 hours! That is no big deal! DH and I drove to Florida a few times from NJ- about 15-16 hours- non-stop except to pee and fill up with gas- 8 hours is a cake walk:lmao:

Make it a mini-vacation! :cool1:

No its not an open floor plan. Upstairs there are two double doors to the 4th bedroom that havent been put up yet-- and the other room you see up there to the corner is a bathroom (the door isnt there yet either). However our bonus room up there is open.

The livingroom is open wide and spacey-- the dining room is somewhat open to the foyer and living room-- but the kitchen is closed off, as well as the office downstairs and the bedrooms. We currently live in an open floor plan house and I really hate it. So we wanted our livingroom to be large, open and spacey-- and everything else in its own corner of the house.

Thank you though!! Im so ready for everything to be finished!!

Love the marble color in your master bath!

You are probably right. The red and cherry wood might not work. Especially since you won't be sure of the woods final color. It changes as it ages.

How much longer before you can move in?

PS-I'm snowed in today. I'll get the books in the mail tomorrow.

Thanks. Dh just "had" to have the marble shower. I agree with the cherry and red-- im glad we decided to change it. Although my current kitchen is red and im a huge fan (but our cabinets are whitewash looking so it does make a difference).

We hope to move in sometime this month (fingers crossed). We have sold our house and have talked to buyers into letting us stay here until the end of the month-- so ideally we can get everything finished soon!!

No worries!! You be safe in that snow! I cant wait to get them!

Maggie- your home is beautiful!

I gave your book to DH to give to his mailman that comes in to pick up mail at DHs shop since they told me I had to "hand" it to someone- b/c it is over 13oz
