What age level are you teaching? I think educators are WONDERFUL!!!! (OK, I'm married to one, but loooonnnngggg before he came along I have admired teachers!-YOU ROCK!!)

I teach at an inner city college; we have a lot of non-traditional students ages 18-58. Some of our students should not even be out on the streets much less in college. I had to kick two out of class this semester for engaging in “threatening” behavior (threatening the prof, not the students). Security escorted me around for a couple of days and then everything was back to normal. Most of my students are great; unfortunately, psych courses tend to attract those who need help along with those who want to help others.[/QUOTE]


Yikes, teaching should not be a life threatening occupation!! You must get a lot of fulfillment from the students that aren't "out there". I can remember when it wasn't a scary thing to teach or attend school..that was a long, long time ago.. AGAIN, TEACHERS ROCK!!!

Kind of spur of the moment thing- kinda. My BIL and SIL have had a trip planned for a few months and I was supposed to go with them. DH didn't want to go- so I decided to nix the trip too. Well! Today after much persuasion! He said we can go!

We will be at the POP! I told SIL not to tell the kids (niece 5 and nephew 3) we will just pop up wherever they may be when we get in.

I could not agree more!!! How many of my graduate classes turned into therapy sessions. . .boundaries, people, boundaries!

Although I went into social work because I was a wild teenager, so I thought I could relate to other wild ones pretty well. So I worked 8 years at a treatment center for teenage girls- to quickly find out they had experiences that NO ONE should have to have. It was actually a tx center that was on some Diane Sawyer news show- they do great work there, with some of the hardest and saddest kids you will see.

I admire you so much for teaching- especially those who are hardest to teach!!!

Kind of spur of the moment thing- kinda. My BIL and SIL have had a trip planned for a few months and I was supposed to go with them. DH didn't want to go- so I decided to nix the trip too. Well! Today after much persuasion! He said we can go!

We will be at the POP! I told SIL not to tell the kids (niece 5 and nephew 3) we will just pop up wherever they may be when we get in.

Yay!!! I'm so jealous. Have a great time and think of us Freap/Wenches while you're gone.

We had a good Turkey Day. We drove to SC Wed. evening to my sister's house and had a great meal that I helped cook. I did not go shopping on BF but my mom, my SIL and my sister did and said they had fun. Okay...you think wrestling your way through maddening crowds of people is fun? I did do a little shopping Saturday after work at Target and Meijers-nothing major though. Freebies I have received of late include the awesome new toothbrush from Sonicare, the journal and pen set and my rug samples. I ordered 2 sets and DH cobbled them together(think he used that staple of men everywhere-Duct tape!)to make DD a rug. I have also been using the Juicy Juice and Polly Pocket coupons willy nilly everywhere. In fact, at Target Saturday the Polly Pockets were on sale for $1.50 and JJ was like $2 something. The girl that rang it all up took $5 off for the PP and $3.50 for each juice. Man I love Target!!

Good to hear so many of you had such a great Thanksgiving...we did too. We did the Black Friday thing....My wife and her shopping posse went at 4:30 to get in line at TRU...but it was so long they decided to bail and go to Target. They got everything they wanted there. They sent me to Staples to get several items...then on to Radio Shack for a present for my Dad.

I was done by 10 am. My wife went until about 1PM...then came home and crashed.

Funny story...not necessarily Thanksgiving related. Last October was our family's first trip to Disney, and our 2 year old little girl was not speaking much...but it left a HUGE impression on her. Ever since her speech is much much better, and now she's into singing (a LOT). So we heard her in her room belting out a old Disney Favorite...with a bit of a personal "southern" twist. The chorus went like this....

"Its a small world after Y'ALL!, Its a small world after Y'ALL!"

Actually this will be the 5th year in a row that we have been to Disney at this time.

It is not very quiet- well, IMO anyway- I prefer Sept much better, right after Labor day is awesome! We did that last year and then went back right after Thanksgiving. Major difference in crowds.

And- there is Pop Warner which starts Dec 1st I believe, the day before we come home. We have been there during Pop a few times before- but now we go right after Thanksgving and before Pop.

Disney vacations have become a science to me I will never plan a trip again without checking all events especially on the World Wide of Sports site!

My SIL planned these dates- she is now complaining about how she has to get ready for vacation, xmas, AND my niece's b-day is in December and my nephew's was in November. She is having a party on Dec 9th for both of them. I said, hey, you picked this time. I would never do it again- I told her next year- go right after Labor Day- she said she did not want my niece to miss any school- so she may do late August. But never December again.

Last year at every meal we told the CM is was their b-days- I have never seen so many cupcakes etc in my life

Hey y'all, the mail lady just came to the door with some boxes because they wouldn't fit in the mail box! ( I love it when my freebies are toooo big!) I got the 3M wall pad with some other sticky note thingies...but I got my Merci Chocolates. I did not think this freebie would come to be honest, but OMG, TWO BIG BOXES???? I could say, "why so much for a freebie", but I will just keep that to myself and say "MERCI", Merci!!

I have met such fun people on the DIS this past year!! I would love to meet them at WDW but, in the back of my mind, I am really afraid we would end up at a bar somewhere in Epcot, having a grand ol' time, proudly wearing our DIS lime green Mickey heads and people would look at us and just shake their heads at the loud laughter and think "tsk, tsk...those DIS people!"

YAY good for you. I wish I was going. your niece and nephew will be thrilled. DH and I showed up in aug. to meet my brother and his family as a surpise to the kids and they loved it. Mt neice cried she was so happy to see us. Have fun and love every second of it
