Today I got the free Chick-fil-A coupons, and a $8 off Iams healthy Naturals coupon! YAY!

I am so far behind on my freebies it isn't even funny. The whole family had a stomache virus this weekend, and I am just now turning the computer on. I feel like I haven't talked to my family in a few days!

Guess what?! As much as you would like to believe this (and I am sure you are thought this too) Pagans do NOT eat their young! They take them to Disney just like you do and walk along side of you in Disney all the time!!!!!!!!!!

No I do not think that they eat there young or anyone else! I really don't intend to attack anyone else's belief, but the post did offend me and I am sorry that you were so offended that I was offended. My personal beliefs are just very different than yours and because of my beliefs I was offended to see that post here. And now I know that because of your personal beliefs I offended you, which was not my intent. I know that there are all different types of people in this world, I was just offended by the post as much as you were offended by mine reply. From your point of view I can see that you took it as a personal attack, but that is not where I was coming from. I have decided that no amount of freebies are worth this drama! I hope the rest of the freebie week is uneventful for all of you and that the freebie thread will be a happy place again!

Yes, I really need to start... I am uploading a picture of Wesley's Halloween costume for ya'lls (haha..OKIE!) entertainment!

Last week it went down to $50, then suddenly, last night it went down to $39!... so, I found a code for 15% off and applied it, then saw that disney was offering 20% off of the BOOTIQUE with code HALLOWEEN. Well, I assumed that it would take my 15% off, but it didn't, it stacked them for a total of 35% off!! So, then I cashed in some of my disneymovie rewards points for a $10 GC to disney shopping, some coke rewards points for a $25 visa GC, and after that my grand total after shipping (which was $10- YUCK) and tax, was a whopping $5!

Although we have all been enjoying each other's company on the threads, we are all still getting to know each other. If we could all visit each other and sit down for a cup of coffee (or beverage of your choice), we would delve into each other's lives a lot more and know what topics were bad for each of us. But, we just can't do that. My feeling is that the limitations associated with this type of communication (message boards) becomes clear the more time we spend here. And, I hope you agree, that the ability to fully share our own personal points of view is quite limited here also. So, given these limitations, perhaps some topics are best to keep to our real lives and we could all be accepting of the short amount of time (with its limitations) that we have here together.

Do any of you guys watch "Rock of Love" with Brett Michaels on VH1??

It is a terrible guilty pleasure as I am not too into reality shows (Well, I watch Kid Nation too...)- Anyhoo- Don't you love Jes' hair?? Seriously.... I'm diggin the hair.

Can you post a pic? I must have the cheapest DH in the whole wide world because we don't have cable or satellite and I don't know what people are referring to half the time around here. I lead such a lowly life

MAGGIE!! That's it! Isn't she adorable?? I got on her myspace page yesterday and he has the instructions on how to do it. My hair is essentially in that cut already, just not that degree of blonde. I am really debating on whether or not I am bold enough to do it-- but I am seriously considering! And-- LOVE the Tat! DB- dp you think I could work my Disney sig into that?? I didn't like Heather either. There is a reunion show Sunday, I am interested to see if she and Bret are still together!

trulygoofy- The post that I found offensive was when you stated that if the majority of people on the thread didn't find the pagan post offensive, then it was not the thread you thought it was.

I took that to imply that if one of us believed paganism was an acceptable religion to pratice, there was something wrong with us.

Sorry to continue the argument, I just really wanted to get that off my chest.

When I post that a pagan site (on a Disney message board no less) is offensive to me, I get to each their own responses. I guess only certain posters opinions are valued here.
I am really surprised that no one else would be bothered by that post and I was very surprised by the responses.
Anyway, I never thought that I would be the one to cause a stink on the freebie thread, but I stand by my posts. it is too bad, I have always enjoyed the freebie thread.
After reading angiepangie's response, I can see that PMing would not have done much good.

I was bothered by that post but, (yes there is always a but... ) like someone else said it is no different than freebies for lube or condoms or toys (They can also upset people...But I tend to like them )
So I guess if we don't like the freebie then we should not click on them.
BTW..I do not have any beef with anyone on the boards...

Ok, I am going to firmly pull my foot straight up to my mouth and s-l-o-w-l-y insert it....

Everyone is entitled to their opinion as this is, afterall, a message board.

Obviously, some people feel entitled to post a freeby, no matter what it may be, just because it is free. Given that, and we have all been watching that happen for some time now, we have to all take on the attitude that we are all entitled to just skip over those freebies that don't interest us or match up with our own particular values.

I don't think posters should be offended if someone posts that they are offended by a freebie link.....did that even make sense?

Can we all agree to do this: Let's ignore the posts we are not interested in. Let's not set up an argument about the freebies that are posted. Let's think twice about posting comments that are intended to be argumentative.

If you are not familiar with the entire DIS board community of threads, you do not know that this Budget Board is one of the most mellow boards on the DIS. I don't want to see that change. That being said; we have to make an effort to keep this board user-friendly and welcoming.

I am sure I have probably offended someone with my thoughts but I don't want the freebie threads to become difficult for anyone to visit and I don't want hard feelings to be harbored here. Please feel free to post your thoughts on this thread, let's get them out into the open, and move on...if 'ya know what I mean.

I don't think they were offended by her dislike of the post. She didn't say I don't like this and I"m not going to send for it, she made a dismissive post about someones religion and then made it worse by inciting others.


See I wasn't offended by the original post. (I'm agnostic so it's all just blah blah blah to me anyway).

I wasn't offended by goofys reply. (Thought it was in bad taste and very bigoted but hey that's her bad karma not mine.)

However when she comes back and says that this is not the board she knows if all the rest of us were not offended. Now that irks me. It sounds like she is trying to "shame" others into supporting her comments and that we are wrong if we don't believe what she believes. See that's just a little to hateful for me. Don't like something but don't recruit others to join in on hate. Bad form all around.

That rubs me the wrong way. I am glad she says she's dropping it. It needs to be dropped. Yes, it's way to much drama for a freebie board.

I have been a slave to Rock of Love this season. I dedicated Sunday night to trash TV this summer. . .Big Brother at 8 on CBS and then over to good old Vh1 for Rock of Love at 9 pm. DH perfected the eye-roll at me this summer. (the closest smilie I could find to eye rolling)

I think Jes is cute as a button. I was rooting for her all season. And I am a closet Poison fan. . even if DH scoffs at their 'greatest hits' album-saying 'now that is an oxymoron'.

How was that for a frivolous diversion post?
