FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

I agree with the ice suggestion! My hubby has chronic back pain and his chiropractor told him "Ice and nothing else but ice!" He keeps several of those gel packs in the freezer for flare ups! And since they are moldable per se, they'd be good for bums as well!

Those gel packs are a life saver! I tried heat when I ruptured a disk in my lower back and it did NOTHING!!! Until I went to a chiropractor and he told me to ice it, there was no relief. Once I started using ice it got sooooo much better and no I can head off an episode by icing as soon it starts to bother me.

:scared1: I can't even imagine putting ice on or even NEAR my back:scared:

Even if I get a little shiver- my back and leg go into spasms and the pain is unbelievable! The heat just feels so nice and relaxing. That is why they gave me the Valium- so I would stop shivering and having spasms.

You should have seen me in the ER- I asked for a warm blanket and they gave me one that felt like they just took it out of the oven- I was in heaven! I asked for another one later one and the nurse was looking at all my blankets and she said- OK- the next one will make it... what? 12 you have on you now!?:lmao: I said I want to be TOASTY!

But the worst was when they wheeled me down to CT on my nice warm stretcher and made me try and scoot on the ICE COLD CT Table!!! I was in tears, it was so cold and it made my back hurt so bad!:sad1:

Madd

Any pics of you in Mexico?

Awesome pics! The resort looks beautiful! And so do you! I hate pics of myself too, but yours look great! Is that one of your JUICY suits? And didn't you have darker hair in your disney pics???
I'm always one of those toasty blanket hogs when I have to be in the hospital! I adore them! As a matter of fact I think my children take after me in that aspect, they are constantly asking me to put their comforters in the dryer for a few minutes before they go to bed! Silly SUCKER me actually does it on occasion, but only because I know it feels sooooooo good!
I had a very similar episode with my back a long time ago...spasms and all! Went to the hospital, the whole nine yards! They gave me a script for something or another and wanted to do more tests to figure it out...and it suddenly went away! Fancy that? So maybe (hopefully) yours will too!

I am the same way with the ice on my back. I used to go to a massage therapist that wanted to both ice and heat my back in each session and the cold just makes every muscle in my body tense up and hurt. Warm feels the best but moist heat does the trick for me. :thumbsup2

Yipes ice?!

I've been using a heating pad!

I may have to give it a try.

I couldn't get into the Dr. til tomorrow :headache:

If you don't have those gel packs or an ice pack you would put into a cooler, fill a ziplock with a few cubes, wrap in a face cloth or dish towel, and SIT ON IT  well, apply to sore area. The cloth keeps it from getting too cold and being some sort of twisted contact sport but allows the coolness to seep into the muscles. My chiropractor explained it helps the swelling go down thus relieving and pressure on the nerves.

Qdoba has an online Q-Dentity quiz.

I just took the quiz and I am a "Nachos Person". :confused3

"Nachos People are independent souls, often happy being single." :rotfl:

That's exactly it! The ice reduces inflamation...heat does not... My hubbys chiroprator actually FORBID him from using the heating pad! And my hubby definately wraps a towel around his gel pack and it seems to be difficult for the first few minutes but then I think everything goes kinda numb! But it helps in the end..
But for Madd, since you don't know what the problem is yet, the ice may not be the solution!

Madd, your photo of the eastern Mexican beach looks just like my photos of the western Mexican beach! We took an excursion that drove completely across the peninsula of the Baja and, along the way, there were cactus as tall as a huge leaf tree!

After our trip, DH wants to go to an all-inclusive resort or condo on the eastern side of Mexico and take in all the ruins....or as many as we can.

We booked our vacation through Apple, every Friday at this hotel they have an "Apple Reception" for all of their Apple guests.

No- why do you ask?

Actually he is a mechanic- very far from an Apple rep huh?

Just figured out that you are talking about a travel agency...

Taco Salad - Don't let that crispy outer shell fool you, because what it holds together are the ingredients of a truly wonderful person. Possibly your greatest trait is your capacity for empathy. People just want to hug you.

Okay this isn't part of the quiz - I stole him.

I wish I was HOT! :rolleyes1

Hey, check out this cactus....that guy in the picture is a college student that is at least 6 feet tall!

Madd, does this look like some of the beach you were on? This is part of a beach at Cabo:
