FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

This is what the 'greenery' looked like as we drove across the Baja peninsula:

Which has its own beauty, but the whole area of Cabo San Lucas (what we saw on our excursion) looked like that. Not nearly what you saw on your trip.

You should see some of the "things" he welds together for me- oh, and he also whittles wood:surfweb: - he made me a nice totum pole one year:rotfl2: - The top showed a happy face, the 2nd face was sad/mad and the third face was happy again- he said it depicted my 3 faces of the day-

1- Waking up- Happy
2- Work- sad/mad
3- Home- Happy

Yes- he is a very talented guy:rotfl2:

Gotta go get my MRI soon- it is about an hour away and the weather here is crazy- ice everywhere. ekkkk!:scared:
Maybe you can get some sleep while in there. We're all Moms who are waiting to hear what you did to your back, young lady! :surfweb:

...get this- one day I heard the lifeguard blowing his whistle so I look to where he is directing it act.....some freaking DOPE climbs on top of the ruin with his kid and is having his pic taken- I can care less how dangerous it is for the dumb$#@ to be on top of the thing, too bad if he fell- I guess that would be the gods teaching him a lesson-- I just thought it was very disrespectful, climbing on top of something that is so sacred to some people :sad2: ...
I was showing your pictures to DH and he said this type of thing is like the tourists who walk right up to a buffalo in Yellowstone and smile for a camera, only to be gored seconds later. :sad2:

I had to use a blow dart to sedate him first- he was a bit "wiley":lmao:

They say he won't rememeber thing about getting tagged...poor thing......

I started laughing so hard my kids were like "what wrong with Mom?"

:lmao: One day there were about 5 guys in board shorts with their girlfriends/wives on the beach-

They sounded Canadian (yah..) they guys counted to 5 and all at once they dropped their shorts to reveal.......SPEEDOS!:lmao: It was hilarious!

They all ran into the water together and one of the guys pulled up the Speedos to look like a thong!:lmao:

Everyone was cracking up.........I guess the European guys did not find it very funny......but everyone else did!:rotfl2:

We Canadians are a very funny people...eh?

Anybody remember the back to school lunchbag offer months ago? Well, I JUST got my bag yesterday!! It is pretty nice, like a miniature soft cooler! My son loves it!

Oh yeah, I've seen that in Yellowstone...twice...stupid tourists. First was a big chubby kid (and I only say chubby because that made him a bigger target!) in a RED t-shirt standing about 10 feet from a RUTTING elk (you could see the velvet peeling off his antlers..this was prime time..) and posing and smiling and jumping around for his parents while they took his picture. The elk kept lifting his head and grunting while he was eating. I told DH to get his camera ready, he was going to get a pic worthy of National Geographic.

The last time was a couple of years ago, people had spotted a mama bear and two cubs..you know how they (we) pull over to look. Well, this guy is following the mama, who is now separated from her cubs..with a CHILD ON HIS SHOULDERS!!! Luckily a ranger came along and got everyone out of there. I tell ya, some people are more interested in a closer look than they are with their kids lives...

We always make sure that there is someone between us and the critter..and that we are pretty sure we can run faster.. After all, you don't have to be able to outrun the bear, just the other guy.;)

When we first moved here, 21 years ago, Canadians used to come down every fall to school shop for their kids. When the USD got much higher than the CD, they stopped. I still say 'eh' from when we used to hear it around here all the time. :thumbsup2

Yay! We love to hear about successful deliveries! :cloud9:

Checking in to see if Madd has checked in.:lmao: I'm loving all the Mexico pics. I really think that my be our 10 year anniversary destination. Did you tell us the name of the resort madd? If you did, I missed it. :confused3

Oh I love the stupid tourist stories. When I was in Rocky Mt. National Park, we saw a huge group of Japanese tourists literally trying to hug Big Horn Sheep to get a photo.:rotfl2: I was so excited at the prospect of seeing moron blood but, alas, the sheep just stood there. I was soooo disappointed.:sad2: Finally a ranger showed up and started shooing people away from the animals. I even heard about a man who tried to sit his child on a bison in Yellowstone. Can you imagine?:confused3 I used to work in a place that kept bison in a field. We would have to turn the electric fence off before we could weed-eat around it. I was terrified the entire time and constantly had a tree in mind that I would be able to climb if need be.:rotfl2: Bison will not be stopped by a fence(or much else for that matter) if they get mad. I can't believe people think they are somehow tame because they are in a National Park.:confused3

We heard about that one, too! Bison are comparable to elephants, in my mind. :sad2:

People think that anything in a fence or tied up is approachable, I guess. My sons have done steers for 4H for years and when they are tied up in the barn at the Fair, people will walk up behind them and try to sit their babies on the animals' back for a 'photo op'!! Have you seen what a startled, 1200 pound animal will do??? :headache: But, why they think it is ok to put the most helpless child in harms' way just boggles the mind!! :guilty:

It has been warm weather, here, for the last few days and snow has been melting down every where. The wind blew all night long and it must have rained a bit because there is rough ice on the walk way. Now, it is snowing sideways and the tv station is running a storm warning ticker across the top of the screen. - sigh -

Hola freaps!- I went for my MRI last night. Our machine at our facility is an open MRI- so you have to sit, not lay down. It looks like a chair- it is all open in the front and we have a 42' plasma TV you can watch in front of you. Well- as you all know- I have not been able to sit up for days now- so, how did it go?- Painful! And they did not get the D$MN channel the hockey game was on!

It only took 20 minutes and at the end our tech said- I thought you were bugging out or falling asleep in the machine!- I said- it was neither- I had my head down b/c I did not want you to see me on the verge of tears b/c of the pain!:rotfl:

I went into the system this morning and read his notes and he wrote- this is the best study I can get b/c the pt kept moving b/c of pain. I called my boss to tell her and she said the report has not been read by the radiologist yet- however, another tech looked at my films and she said she saw a bulging disc.

So- I have a doc appt @ 11:45 and I will tell her about the disc (the report may not be ready by then)- I should have grabbed the films last night but I forgot. :headache: The tech could have rpinted them right out for me. I need to get more drugs from the doc- and I will ask her if I should make an appt with the Chiro or an Ortho.

If the Chiro tries to crack me- I will crack her upside the head!

I am lucky b/c we have a lot of good Orthos that have offices here in South Jersey that are affiliated with Temple and some PA hospitals like Penn and Jefferson.

Marna- I am sorry- the resort we stayed at was The Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya- Actually I prefer the RIU hotels over this one myself. The Grand was nice etc- but as I stated before- It was a bot too modern for me. The rooms were decorated in orange!

I will post a pic when I get home later!:scared1:

Yep, bison are very unpredictable, and mean at times. The handouts that the rangers give tourists at the entrance of Yellowstone state that more people are injured by bison than any other animals in the park. Well, yah..let's see ...HUGE animal, mean disposition, pointy horns, VERY FAST..and they APPEAR to be docile and slow. What a combination... I LOVE them.

What's up with the maddster?? Inquiring minds want to know!

OK, nevermind..she was posting while I was typing.

bulging disc does not sound good. I'm sorry you had all the pain while having the MIR, maybe now you can get some relief. I don't like the thought of going to a chiropractor and cracking bones, either. Poor baby, I wish I could get you something...

Madd - were you on a cruise? Or did you just stay in Cancun and Cabo?

Cancun has a beautiful ocean but it's too touristy for me. I went there for my honeymoon.:bride:

Madd just got back from a trip to the eastern side of Mexico. DH and I took a cruise down the western side of Mexico in January. We have been comparing information and location photos. :goodvibes
