FP ressies, not yet activated AP, but we have MBs

Hi fellow Dis-ers. Can someone help me out here? If we buy APs, but they are not yet activated, can we still book our FPs at 60 days out? (We have Magic bands from the last time we went.) Not sure if we are staying on site or off site. But not usre if that makes a difference if you have an AP....Thanks!

In order to book FP+, your APs will need to be linked to your MDE. I don't know if that activates them or not. I don't have an AP. I'm sure someone who does will be able to answer that part of your question.

Only if you stay onsite. I had a non-activated AP so I called and they said as long as I was staying onsite and linked the AP on MDE I could (and did) make the FP + rez 60 days out.

If you're not onsite you'll still be able to book with your unactivated AP, but only at 30 days.

You have to link the unactivated AP (voucher) to MDE to make FP+ at all. And the normal onsite 60/offsite 30 applies regardless of what kind of ticket you have. Actually you get a bit screwed having an AP and staying offsite if your trip is long since you can't make more than (I believe) 7 days of AP FP+ if you are offsite.

I would appreciate some clarification to a similar situation. We have our MBs from prior trips. We are planning a stay at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista (Downtown Disney) and will probably get annual passes. How does the system know when 30 days out is if you are staying off site?

Also, our old APs expired in October. If we are not going to WDW again until late January (about a 3 month gap with no trips), does it make sense to try to renew them for the discount (we have 30 days past the expiration) or should we pay the full price to reset our date?
