FP+ questions... Really lost

I just checked my phone (iphone 5) and the fastpass+ option is still there on the rides. If I click it i can pick any day in jan (wont allow any further) and then it gives me an error. This is weird that some can see it and some can't.

Can you give an example of where you are seeing the fast pass+ option? Or the add to plan option? I'm not seeing it on either my iPad or iPhone and am curious if its not there or if I'm just not in the right place. Thanks!

- Who the heck wants to book rides 60 days out? I can't even book MEALS 14 days out!

Not to mention with my kids (and I'm sure many others) what they want now isn't necessarily what they want 60 days from now - or 60 minutes, for that matter.

I clicked explore, then MK then BTMR then there is a blue "select fast pass +" banner, click that and a calendar pops up, once I click a date I then get an error pop up.

I just read through 22 pages of the many alternatives and permutations of how this could roll out, and I'm not finding people are happy with most of the possible scenarios. There were just too many benefits to the *current* FP system.

Maybe Disney isn't that dumb after all! Maybe they are setting up this new FP+ system with the complete knowledge that people are not going to be happy with it, so that making people pay for FastPasses like the *Unlimited Front of the Line* at Universal will then become more palatable.

Just so crazy it might be true (just like investing a ton of money in a new system is something they can write off as PR....wow, I'm not bitter!)

That's called the "New Coke Method" :)

The basic paid Express option at Universal is not unlimited, but single-use per attraction that offers it. That version starts at about $25 on dead days and upwards of $70 or so I think during crowded days.

There is a much-more expensive paid unlimited Express version, but I think it's in the neighborhood of $150 or more.

I think they only offer that now bundled with a ticket (or as a resort guest perk), so it's hard to know the exact price, but a 1-day park-to-park with unlimited access is $180. Crazy.

It's been suggested elsewhere that the 4 selections is just for testing and data gathering purposes. And that the final number for the actual system may be much higher like 8-10, possibly with tiering based on there you stay. With more total FP+ options there will likely be more e ticket selections allowed.

Latest rumor is FP+ will go live in February...

I don't know details yet.. Any info would be great

Agreed. Who was the source?

If someone understands the fine print, can you tell me, does the "no regular FP and FP+" mean for the entire trip? Or just for the park where you have FP+ reservations (but you could park hop and do regular FP)? Or just for the day that you have reserved FP+ (shut out of all parks for FP for that day only)? Hope this question makes sense.

Honestly at best everyone is guessing. You know a little information is a dangerous thing, scenario.

However if their guesses are correct regular FP will be phased out, after FP+ is up and running.

A certain Disney tourist blog ;) is reporting it but not citing sources (that I saw -- didn't really read through it).

Great, I am going in February, so if Disney wants me to plan my rides ahead they better hurry up and explain Fp+ soon. If February is true that would make sense as to why I can see the selection for fast pass+ on the Disney app and others can't? Because Disney allows you to make selections 60 days in advance and I am in that window? So many unknowns I guess.

From the reading of the T&C, you will not be able to use your ticket to get regular FPs at all, once converted to be able to use FP+ (i.e. RFID enabled). It won't matter which park, or whether you have FP+ experiences scheduled that day.

So, if you have a package (or are otherwise using at least an expiring MYW ticket for a trip), it is for the entire duration of the trip. For AP holders, it could mean for the life of the AP. It is unknown if you can convert back or not (if there is still a regular FP system).

I'll be keeping this in mind since we are planning on buying AP..
I don't know why I didn't think about it before.. We will be holding are paper AP as long as we can...

I guess the next question will be if you buy AP after feb.. will the automaticity give FP+ with asking? Will the AP holder get a choice?
Disney really need to announce something..

I know the RFID machines are in MK and DHS, have they arrived yet in the other two parks?

Epcot has FP+ systems at the rides like Spaceship Earth and Seas with Nemo - even Turtle Talk with Crush. All the parks now have at least one set of RFID ticket entrances installed at the front gates as well.

The only place i've not seen or heard of people spotting FP+ devices is AK.

I would think these would need to be installed for all attractions before rollout.
