FP+ questions... Really lost

Is everyone who is seeing it in the app using the iOS app (i.e. Apple products), and everyone who doesn't see it using Android? I put the app on my Android phone, and don't see it. There is the Mickey Head button, but that just brings me back to the "home" screen. Perhaps the Android version hasn't been updated for it yet.

Doesn't seem to really have been discussed....but for those who don't have a smart phone or carry an ipad to the park just be screwed? We might be changing phones soon but for now we don't have a smart phone and my nook color can't get the app. So people are saying the choices are on the app. Great so would I be able to book anything on my home computer or nook through the main page not the app? Then if I need to change things in the park I am just screwed? Or will there be kiosks to allow changes if any are left. Yeah not sold on this.

They say there will be kiosks throughout the parks.

Another stupid question...It says changing paper tickets etc sends you to the new system and you have to change your tickets to use the system right... I thought the keys to the world are now RFID right so do they work both systems in the trial? Won't having a resort package force you to use the FP+ system?

Right now, they are using cards with an RFID chip embedded in them, so they work with both. This will apparently change to bracelets in the future, or at least a choice - unless, as you say, packages force you to use FP+.

I am using the latest rev of MDE (1.2.1 from Dec 20) on an iPhone 5 and I've yet to see the mythical FP+ option on any attraction. I'm logged in too, by the way.

This morning, all the FastPass + buttons are gone. Some of the minor attractions now say "add to your plan". If you do that a notice clearly states "this not a reservation." The attractions with FP+ capability now only show a fastpass return time and wait time. This changed last night at 11:00 pm central time for the app on my iPad.

I can add items to my plans/itinerary but only for January right now.

This may have been discussed previously and I tried to find it. But is there any word if this new service comes with a fee?

I mean, Disney World is the only theme park I've visitied where fast past is FREE. Our six flags, water parks and even other Orlando parks all charge, so I'm just wondering if that's been mentioned anywhere? Like when reserving your vacation, you can add park hopper to your tickets and/or you can add FP+ in which you will be given the FP+ card at check in.

Just like everything else about this topic, there have been rumors about pay-for-play FP+, but no one knows for sure until Disney rolls this out officially.

I can sort of understand them leaning towards charging cause everyone else does and lots of people buy. BUT if they are going to charge for one it needs to be worth it...Like you can use it when you want to, how you want to, where you want to, and however many times you want to. Limiting it makes me think it will be free. Esp since they have already spoiled us with free fast pass - when everywhere else you go you have to buy this extra. But something still makes me think this won't come free. I don't know.

Perhaps it's the reported $1B pricetag we've heard thrown around?

I still think it will be rolled into resort pricing in some way.

Even if you don't parkhop, one could still plan for their 4 FP+s during the busy period of 1-5? I could deal with that, and still go to RD to maximize my park day. Hm.

But, then, I guess those who prefer to go to the parks between 12-5 will plan to get their own FP+'s during that time? Meh.

I've been checking for a week to see what all the hubbub is about, and never saw them--not just this morning.

I know, I was just reporting my situation. Things changed overnight, and things look much different using the iPad today.

I agree. Maybe DVC incentives as well.

Nobody knows if the system will limit how you can space them out.

But do keep in mind that even those of us who get to the parks early will be trying for those later day spots and there will only be so many to go around.

If I'm there at rope drop, I'm planning to maximize standby as long as I can, so I would definitely want my FP's in the afternoon when those standby lines are longer than I like.

Yep, if you really want all 3 mountains in one day, plus Belle etc-I could see opening MK with afternoon FP+'s in ur back pocket.

For us we have AP so hopping comes with it. Therefore if we do get going in the AM-we will usually open one park, then go back and swim/rest. At that point may as well change to a different park.

We always open AK and finish it by noon-a perf day to be holding FP+ at DHS and stay for Fantasmic (or EPCOT) if we are at BCV, MK if at BLT.

Agreed-I see no reason to select AM FP+, maybe check out day with an afternoon flight.

Does that you put you back to logging in 60 days out to ensure those precious afternoon FP?

I just checked my phone (iphone 5) and the fastpass+ option is still there on the rides. If I click it i can pick any day in jan (wont allow any further) and then it gives me an error. This is weird that some can see it and some can't.

OH yeah. If FP+ is the only game in town, I'll be logging in 60 days out. We only go once a year, so while I find this degree of preplanning distasteful, I'll definitely be doing it if I have to.

I just think those folks who like to arrive late might assume the early risers will take the morning slots. I would be riding standby all morning, then use FP+ in an attempt to pad my ride counts, keeping up my reputation as a "super-user". ;)

:thumbsup2. And we will all be happy with less! pixiedust:

If regular fastpass will eventually be gone. How will offsite guests use FP+? I am assuming they can't since they won't have a pkg or AP or reservation to link to? We only stay onsite because of DVC but this has me worried. If only onsite guests can use FP+ what are those standby lines going to look like??? And if offsite can't use FP+ and FP+ will be taking over FP will there be the same number of FP+ that there were FP, meaning will onsite guests have no problem getting that elusive TSM evening slot??

And yet disney resort will be sold out! Disney wants to give people who price compare another reason to stay at their resorts....
It makes since.... Why would I stay, play and end up paying for the FP at universal when I can get it for free if i stay within the disney parks and at a disney resort!

I remember the year Harry opened... That early dec... The parks had very low crowds.. At least the day we were there

Yes I agree another check in the pro column for staying onsite vs offsite to guests on the fence.
the standby lines are going to be long if only resort guests can use fP+ and only 4-5 a day with only one headliner. Lots of people in standby. I really do see some fee to get more or add on coming. Disney has to make money on their billion dollar investment right?
