FP for Radiator Springs Racers

Is there still the mad rush for the fastpasses for Radiator Springs Racers? How late into the day might I be able to get one? TIA!

With the refurbs in place it seems like the fastpasses are going quicker for RSR - But, they are not impossible to get. On Monday 2/16 (holiday week) we pulled our fastpasses for RSR at 9:30am and they were for 4:45pm.

FP for RSR are lasting longer now than they used, partially because they no longer allow guests to line up before the park opens to get one. They also stop distributing FPs if RSR is down, which they used to not do. I would still recommend getting a FP within the first two hours of when the park opens. I've been monitoring the FP times for the last few weeks. On most days, FPs lasted for between two and three hours after park opening, but I would get there before the two hour mark to be safe.

Most of the time our last day is a short one due to airline flights.
We pull FP's anyway. If we get a time we won't be able to use the grandkids finds some on to give them to.

Last year was the best give away. We pulled RSR FP's for late evening. Later in the morning at TOT, there was a young couple trying to figure out how the FP machines worked. I showed them and how to read the FP return time. My DGD asked if they planned to ride RSR? They weren't sure due to their limited time. We gave them the RSR FP's and they were so excited. When they had gone to get RSR FP's they were gone for the day.

It's been a couple years since I've been, but back then we ride stuff fir the first 50 minutes, then was able to get in line for FPs ahead of all the regular park people that were lined up, but held back from officially being in the FP line.

We did early entry on Friday. A line for RSR FP's definitely formed before regular opening. We didn't get in it but it was definitely there. CM's were around, not organizing the line but not dispersing it either.

We got our FP's around 10:15am (1.25 hours after regular opening time) and our return was 6:30 - 7:30 (10pm closing.) Friday was busy, not crowded - probably a 7 during the day. But with Soarin' (and GRR) down, I'm sure that's putting pressure on the remaining FP rides.

On Monday feb 9, not a day I'd expect to be super busy, they were out by 11:45. Not sure what time they actually ran out. Park opened at 9 and this was a MM day.

I had a rider swap pass from MM and dropped it somewhere!

I remember reading on another thread that some local school districts had Feb 9th off in honor of Lincoln's birthday (observed early), along with President's Day on the 16th. So those two Mondays were predicted to be busier than "normal" this time of year.

I'm glad to hear that it sounds like it's working out pretty well now. I remember when they first ended the pre-opening line, the CMs were actively dissuading folks from forming a line so it was kind of a mad dash/chaos when they dropped the rope.

We were there yesterday (Dapper Day), and we pulled a 6:40pm return time at 11:15am. I believe the park opened at 8:00am.

On Saturday 2/28 @ 10:45am we pulled fast passes for 8:40pm to 9:40pm.

Is it still a crazy long line just to get the fastpass? I missed a nice walk through the DCA entrance to race over to the FP line a couple of years ago. I would prefer to go straight to Toy Story Mania, then head back to the machine to get our fastpasses. Anybody know how bad the single rider line is?

Its a crazy long line first thing in the morning. Just wait an hour and go back. Then you won't stand there for more than 10 minutes. Go do those rides like TSMM and others, and then send a FP runner to get them. Single rider is usually 20-30 minutes, seems like.

On 2/19 (Thursday), the FP were gone by 10:30/11am. I agree with PP, that due to so many refurbs, the FP went faster than expected.

Here is our FP approach. We arrived on Tuesday (non-EMH day) about 30minutes early (in line), DH hung to the right of the rope drop with the kids (and stroller), I stood near the front of the line, by myself, on the left hand side with all of the tickets. Goal was to pull FP and meet up with family before they were in the windy line (stroller drop off). I didn't run, but walked smartly/quickly around groups to get near the front of the FP line, and really didn't wait more than a minute, then quickly walked to meet up with DH as he was parking the stroller, and we all waited in line together.

If I was unable to catch up with the family, I was going to ride single rider line (line non-existent at park opening). I don't believe in cutting through lines to meet up with family, but a lot of people didn't share my opinion, and were cutting through the lines to catch up. No biggie, IMO, just not something I am comfortable with. Bugged the people in front of me a lot and they more than grumbled each time it happened.

I am also a fan of passing out FP that we can't use. Usually they seem skeptical, but always appreciative!

Interesting, as we were there this past Friday (3/6) and we got FP's at 12:55pm for a 6:30pm return time. It's a good thing we had them, as RSR seemed to be down much of the day. BTMRR was also down for quite some time, and Indy went down just as we boarded the vehicle. They turned all of the lights on, and a CM went walking into the ride (on the tracks) to go fix things. There were a couple of false starts, but they did get it up and running after about a 15 minute wait.

Last Wednesday, 3/4, we got FPs for RSR at about 11:30am with a 4:15-5:15 return time. The line wasn't terrible earlier, but we had Anna and Elsa FPs, so we went there and rode some other rides, met Olaf, then DH walked right up to get our RSR FPs.

If you don't know about Otto, you really should try it. It's an automated phone line that will tell you if FPs are available for a ride, what times are currently being issued and how long the standby lines are. It's 714-520-7090. I've even called in the days leading up to my trip to find out what time FPs are being handed out for a ride at a certain time of day. (Yes, I'm that geeky about my DLR trips.)

ETA: It's especially handy if you really want RSR FP for a night time ride. You can call a few times throughout the morning to find out when you should get passes to ride it after dark.
